We sit back and enjoy the videos without appreciating how much work you have to put in to make them. Your health is important and put that first. We can wait (with a lot of anticipation) for the next post.
Glad that finally u got a prep work videos into this series. Although its a lot of effort and time to film it but really appreciate it Tony. The foundation of a good paint job starts from the prep work.
Nice work Tony, i repainted the same car last year for a customer in 2k gloss black and it came out lovely and when it was all finished they sold it for 10k unbelieveable.!!!!!
Fabulous to see this. How interesting and what just goes into a pretty bad car to like new. Glad you chose this path Matt for the car. Can't wait to see you on the road in it once again. 😀
Looking good so far Tony...gonna be a sweet ride when you're done with it! And don't feel like you need to apologize for taking a week off...we get it 👍
Hey Tony, the MR2 is progressing well and have to say that the kapci primer looks like it goes on quite flat mate which is a bonus. I know which gun you was using for primer as I have one as well but the Sata looked like it was doing a good job on laying a good wet coat on the panel 👍 I don't understand why people complain about primers (or any paint tbh) saying they are to thick I would be happy if I had to spoon it out of the tin as you are getting better value for your money, just add more thinners then it will be fine and go further 🤷♂️🤦♂️ Thanks for getting this video up last night Tony as I now you had a bad week then had issues getting the video up on time 👏🙏👍
Hi Tony . I have been enjoying your videos for sometime now. I have a 92 mx5 Eunos.. its pretty rust free, imported in 2005 from Japan.i have owned this car for nearly 7 years, and have been slowly modifying it mechanically suspension engine gearbox diff etc. .its had some paint in the past, and has suffered some shrinkage especially on the doors. Previous owner... I would love to book it in with you this winter please 🙏 😊 How would I best do this
Hi Tony brilliant video.... when you’ve blocked primer 240, then da 400, ( would that be with interface pad ) when you go wet on wet is that with epoxy like 4:1 with 15% thinner ... thanks again Tony
I’m not using kapci wet on wet on it mate I’m using an octoral one for this and it’ll be mixed to whatever the ratio is for that primer I have on the way
@@TonysRefinishingTV I was thinking faster by not having to remove deep scratches from 80 easier to remove 120 but still flat. If it's a skim coat yes 80 would be faster but few small dents 120
Looking forward to this video seeing as this is my car. Thanks Tony.
see it all in real time mate or close lol
My son has one of these mr2,s also in metallic green personally my favourite mr2
Your in good hands m8

@@TonysRefinishingTV what’s your ratio for octoral thanks
I don’t know whatever the data sheet says mate I’ve not used it yet as I’ve already said
do you have pic of bodyfill can Im in canada it keeps showing Upol gold body fill love your videos
I can mate but you’d have to email me so I can send it
Hi Tony, probably a stupid question but what panel wipe do you use?
any mate none special just everyday any brand panel wipe fella
Have you tried 120 instead 80 1st step on body filler? I have a few times now and haven't had any issues from not being flat
Yeah mate just with alot of the jobs we do being bigger I tend to go for p80 just for speed tbh
@@TonysRefinishingTV I was thinking faster by not having to remove deep scratches from 80 easier to remove 120 but still flat. If it's a skim coat yes 80 would be faster but few small dents 120
Yeah I’d agree there mate 100% tbh it’s just one of those grades we’ve never really kept in but I might grab some in tbh and see how it goes
was that the 5 or 2.5mm electric da used there?
5mm buddy
How many times do you usually prime and block a panel?
three coats of primer i will block this then with p240 then da with p500 wet on wet and paint it
It was hard work, Tony. But you did well
thanks man
the best✨✨✨
thanks
Muito bom
