  • Plugging the vacuum lines that control the exhaust valves is a quick and easy way to make the exhaust valves open in all driving modes... well it's quick and easy if you're not as stupid as me.

    Thank you very much for the great idea. I have now also changed this on my Giulia QV. But have only one question, what do you think, could it be that it has less power now? Or possibly even more ? I ask because the engine control unit is programmed to the different valve positions and now they are open everytime. Thanks for your answer !!

    why not the relatively cheap dongle from Squadra? I can open and close valves from the gear shift button, as needed, which is useful for when you want it quiet.

    • @ChrisDrift
      @ChrisDrift  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      figured I may as well try the completely free way first and yeah if I get annoyed with it being loud all the time I'll use something like the squadra thing. So far I've not found a situation where I want it to be quiet, as its not like its very noticeable with the valves open when you're just cruising at low RPM anyway

    • @Roadjull
      @Roadjull 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChrisDrift Also in reference to a previous video of yours (and in case you haven't already figured it out), you can go into Neutral using the gear shift, not just the paddles.
      Push the gearshift forward when at a stand still, WITHOUT pressing the gearshift button. It will go in N.

    Hi Chris the next thing to do is change those p zero tyres,I put on Goodyear Formula one Supersport tyres they are really good and transform this car ,and they are cheaper and easier to get the sizes rather than the Michelins and an expert tyre tester on youtube couldnt decide which was the best tyre between the Goodyear and the Michelins.?

    Whats up Chris, whats the stuff that you used to block the opening of the hose? Can i get them off Amazon? I want to do the same thing to my Quad. Thanks.

    • @ChrisDrift
      @ChrisDrift  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're called vacuum line plugs, but when I just had a quick search on Amazon and eBay it was hard to find the right ones. Most of the ones I found were just the female caps designed to go on the other end (the exhaust valve in this case) and not the male plugs you can put into a vacuum line. Like I said though you can just use any old bolt that's roughly the right size. That's what most people do

    6:00 I had to laugh because I replaced my exhaust using trolley jacks and axle stands in my garage. There are 2 bolts holding the panels on right where the jacking points are and you have to lower the car down and remove the tray, then Jack it back up. It’s a real pain in the arse and there was lots of profanity involved!

    • @ChrisDrift
      @ChrisDrift  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeahhh I eventually realised that's the only way to do it. Might just cut a slit out of mine so you can slide it forward instead of doing that lol depends how often I end up taking it off n on

    • @ChrisDrift
      @ChrisDrift  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      also, which exhaust did you get and what year is your car if you don't mind me asking?

    • @HEMSJim
      @HEMSJim 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChrisDrift that’s not a bad idea! I had a 2017 and put the Milltek axle back on it. It was written off last November after I was in a rear end collision. I just picked up another ‘17 and prefer the stock sound now. The Milltek sounds very similar to the Akrapovic, but I didn’t like the fact that you lose the pops and bangs. It’s also a deeper tone and doesn’t turn heads like the stock when people hear it.

    • @HEMSJim
      @HEMSJim 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also had the Centerline X Pipe but the fit was terrible and it leaked black carbon onto the garage floor. Imho, I think stock is the perfect sound, especially with the flaps open all the time.

    • @ChrisDrift
      @ChrisDrift  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HEMSJim that must be another thing they changed on the newer models then because I don't get any pops and bangs whatsoever on my stock exhaust. Interesting you mention the centreline x pipe as that's the first thing I was planning to make my own version of. I'll make sure mine fits lol

    Does yours still have the deadly (to regular people) tyres? Or I assume you’ve replaced them with Michelins or something?

    • @ChrisDrift
      @ChrisDrift  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Still got the P zero corsas on that it came with. Are they the deadly ones? I am planning to swap them for michelins once I've destroyed them but didn't realise they were known as being deadly

    • @fskof
      @fskof 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The problem is people are driving those tires in cold temperatures where they don’t heat up. The tires are summer performance tires. The problem are the owners..... not the tires.

    • @ChrisDrift
      @ChrisDrift  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fskof yeah I guess they're like the Michelin Cup2 tyres (as soon as it gets below about 7 degrees they're real slippery)
