No doubts about your choice Chris. I have been owner of 4 alfas so far (my latest one is a GT and i love it ! ) and i will never go back to anything else than an Alfa. Life is really so short to let passion, fun and enjoyble driving out of it. Hopely my next one will be a Guilia ^^.. Greetings from Greece my friend !!

I agree with your comment about seats - I have sat in two of my brother's BMWs - the first one a 5 series, and the other an X5. I can confirm they are nothing to write home about. The seats in my 159 are much more comfortable and supportive, but the best seats that I have ever sat in are those in the first generation Saab 9-5.
Agrre on the BMW... I have to use a towel after 2hs driving. Alfas are quite good. But KIA Stinger is in another class: firm but very ergonomic, heated and AC ventilated.
Had my GQ for nearly 4 years of trouble free fun. Have all boxes ticked, except for the carbon backed seats, as an old injury gives me back issues in cars. Long continental tours, and I arrive refreshed, (physically, maybe a little shaky, if too much espresso, or too much espresso pedal!) and comfortable. Use the heated seats and steering-wheel a lot too. Love everything about it, particularly the handling and the psychic steering. Can’t imagine being without it.
Hi mate, I agree completely with your comments about the comfort in the Quad - the seats are genuinely excellent and the most comfortable I have ever had. The heated seats and steering wheel are also very welcome in the Winter. It is so well equipped, I can’t think of anything it doesn’t have that I would want!
You’re a real Alfisti! I’m so happy for you that you bought the best car in the world! Can’t wait to see this video but I can’t atm 😂 Salute from Bulgaria!
One of the most beautiful sports sedans on the market, it handles great, has a lot of grip and a lot of power. I think it's great, my next car will be an Alfa Romeo.
Nice, descent review!!! I own a 166 Lusso 2.5 V6 (Busso) 24v, remapped to 202 hp & a 147 1.6 TS remapped from 120 to 129 hp. I used to own a 33 1.7 8v i.e. for 18 years (bulletproof car!!!!) & a Mito turbo for 5 years. They all are/were great cars from every angle, but my favorite remains the 1st, the 33 1.7 (boxer). My next target is a Giulia like yours ...maybe....keep it up!!!
Good luck Chris. Beautiful color. I also daily drove my quadrifoglio for 2 years until the engine blew up at 30k miles. But don’t worry, alfa replaced the motor at no cost to me. I did have an early model though so maybe you’ll be luckier. Best driving car for a daily driver. Tons of fun. Enjoy.
Hi mate, thanks very much for watching - I can't really afford one either! 😂 The Brera is a classic car in the making though - in fact, probably better looking than the Quadrifoglio!
Well after coming from a die hard Bmw m5 nut having owned e39,e60and My last one the f10 which was 760bhp ….I’m absolutely blown away with the quad I picked up last sat which apparently is tuned to 600bhp ,the quality of it is amazing and the styling is to die for I’ve also nited drivers looking in there wing mirrors when I’m coming up the side of them when overtaking ,it’s such a nice place to be as well can’t wait for better driving conditions so I can take it up to the welsh mountains 😂.
Hi mate, thanks for commenting and watching. Good to hear that you love the Quad, especially after coming from a tuned M5. The Quad is a great handling car and they do seem to have got all the ingredients working so well together.
@@TheAlfaNut I highly recommend that you do mate. I got the ecu remap and also had the tcu remap done whilst I was there. It transforms the car into a complete and utter beast. With the map, in dynamic mode the torque is held back in first and second gear as before but in race mode there is no control of the torque in any gear. And oh my god!!! I would also say changing the tyres is an absolute must. The PZero Corsas, in my opinion are not suitable for the car in typical UK weather. I changed to Pilot Sport 4S and now have the confidence to ‘give it the beans’. The new Continental SportConact 7 tyres also have excellent reviews too.
Hi Art, thanks for watching and hope you enjoy your Giulietta - I’m currently making a video about that very car - I have a JTDM2 as well - 2.0 Super. 👍🏻
Enjoyed your video Chris but sadly for me I bought a brand new Alfasud Sprint when I was 23 years old I am now 72 years old and can never forget the experience of Watching a car rust away at speed that at three years old the little Alta was a complete rust bucket.
Hi Frank - thanks for watching, although I have to say: Come on, 50 years is a long time to hold a grudge! New Alfas are very reliable & galvanised these days!
The Q is definitely a great daily driver. I’ve owned mine for little over a year and it’s a thoroughly modern car with all the comfort, toys and safety features one could reasonably desire from a daily. So it’s not crazy at all to use it as such! Of course, as petrolheads, we’re looking for more qualities in a car, and the Q can also deliver on that front. Performance is simply unhinged when it’s let loose. I can hardly believe this car isn’t banned from public roads. It seems we’re lucky that Alfa drivers can restrain themselves - most of the time 🤭
Doesn’t particularly matter in the grand scheme of things and I may be wrong but I think the A pillar is the one at the front that forms the side of the windscreen. The one in the middle you’re referring to is the B pillar and the one at the back is the C pillar. Anyway who cares? What a car!!! What a car!!!! Love it
@@TheAlfaNut That's like asking, " Does a cat like cream?" Seriously, No, you were just enjoying the drive! Great to have your channel up and running again! I'm "alfaless" ( without Alfa) at the moment and having to do with a BMW 320d. A good friend of mine ownes a 2008 black Alfa 159 3.2 Q4 with an auto box, apparantly only four cars were ordered in the UK and only three survive. I gaze at the car with much admiration!!
Great! I just needed this video. Being an Alfa-driver for many years and started to drive BMW, I was wondering about the Giulia QV and pick up my old motor-branch again. This video convinced me to buy the QV. Great, again! Thanks, Pascal, the Netherlands.
Hi Pascal, thanks for watching. My last car was a BMW 530e (company car) and it was so boring that I left the company car scheme and bought a Giulia QV! I don’t regret the extra cost - it is an amazing car with so much character & power! 😎👍🏻
Excellent review. I love my Veloce and wouldn´t swap it for anything but I WOULD love a QV next to it. BTW, @13:30 you´re referring to the B-pillar. The A pillar is at the front. You know... A - B - C etc. Drive tastefully.
The heated steering wheel is definitely a welcoming feature on a cold winter's morning. By the way wonderful and amazing vehicle choice and a excellent video review ❤
Hi Chris nice video mate, I own a Stelvio Quad and in the one year of ownership I have never seen another in my area, and driving to other cities I have only seen 3 Stelvio Quads, exclusively as well as performance is a massive factor for the Quads and for me personally. Keep up the content and keep those videos coming.
Thanks for watching Martin - avgreat choice, the Stelvio QV is a beast and actually a bit quicker off the line than the Giulia in the real world due to 4WD.
Titles like these mislead people into thinking that these are unreliable cars and TH-camrs need to stop it. I own a a Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and it has been absolutely perfect.. not one problem at all. Its been much more reliable than my previous BMW's, Ford and even my Lexus..... So can we please stop with the click bait titles.
@@assist7257Yes I still have the vehicle and it’s been flawless. It’s only been in the shop for oil changes. There is a recall to replace the sticker on the drivers door jam because it has the wrong tire pressure listed… lol. Other than that it’s been perfect.
You are 100% accurate in your assessment sir. I owned a 2017 Quad and loved it. The finest car I have ever owned. Not a single issue with it after using it as a daily year round driver and 54K miles. Simply amazing car. I truly hope to own another soon.
Hey Freddy, thanks for watching! Yes indeed, me too - my Quad is definitely the most fun daily driver ever and still massively underrated by the M3, M4 and AMG crowd. It’s SO good that I suspect I will be buried in mine eventually! 😂😉
I have a BMW 550i currently but am looking to go back to the Quadrifoglio if I can get one for the right price. I sold my 2017 at the height of Covid and got $4k more than I paid for it and owned it for 2 years putting about 54k miles on it. Car prices are starting to stabilize in my area a bit now.
The 550i is a nice car - great engine and performance, although I have heard about reliability problems with BMW V8’s. Not sure how true that is, I’ve only ever had straight 6 BMW’s.
“…and he’s wearing a track suit.” Hahaha. We understand. They’re all flash and exhaust. I am a happy QV owner (Stelvio, but a heck of a blast. I’m a drummer & needed the hatch anyway). Thanks for this. Gave me a lift. 🤙🏽
Thanks for watching Ed! A QV Stelvio eh? Super nice, I seriously considered getting one too. I bet the drummer in my band wishes he was turning up to gigs in a Stelvio QV! 😂. What kind of stuff do you play? Mine is a funk band
@@TheAlfaNut Hahaha. I love a 240 wagon for transport, but this just does everything so well. I rely on the AWD because I live with vertigo. Pretty funny, hey? Easy to maintain. I must buy a valve controller. Dynamic is so ideal, but I need more pop. Thanks again for these. Very enjoyable to watch. Great sense of humor too. 🥸
As a long-term owner of Alfas they certainly do make you feel special, and it doesn't matter what model you have. The closest car I've owned in terms of fun factor was my 1968 Lotus Elan +2. Alfas and Lotuses have more smiles per mile than any other reasonably priced cars. My car Alfa of choice is the Giulia Veloce. I test drove one back in 2017. Nowhere near as fast as the Cloverleaf but, as usual with Alfas, very driver focused.
Agreed and it seems great minds think alike - my fave Lotus is the Elan +2. I think its such a beautiful car & well proportioned. They are still real bargains compared to the 2 seater Elan of the same era. Giulia Veloce is the sweet spot in the range in my opinion. 👍🏻
I own the Q4, so not a Quad, but its an incredible daily driver! It's a bit heavier, more luxurious, and less powerful than the Quad, but it's still great around a track, and as a daily driver, I'd say even better than the Quad! Overall, just love Alfas, and I love that quality issues are essentially gone with the newer Alfas, especially Giulia and Stelvio models.
Thanks for sharing. Fellow QV owner here. My spec: 2020 MY, Misano blue, carbon everything (including front V grill which has been discontinued), exposed carbon fiber roof, carbon ceramic brakes, Alcantara seats, ICE white interior color. My lease expires this year. Debating buying it out or not. Been keeping an eye on the secondary market for QVs. If I'm paying less than market value (buyout is 75k Canadian dollars tax in), I'll pull the trigger. If not, I'll let her go and maybe circle back in the future and pick one up preowned, although will be hard to find such a good spec. Oh and I baby mine, only 8000 km. Glad you drive yours daily, enjoy it
Thanks for watching and commenting. I’m almost certainly buying mine at the end of the lease, as QV prices here in the UK are very firm. I’d like to press my other cars into daily use this summer to keep my miles down but in all honesty, whenever I leave the house in the morning, its the Giulia I want to drive most!
Thanks for watching Syed, the most amazing thing about the Quadrifoglio, compared to most Alfas, is that it genuinely has no significant flaws. For a keen driver it is pretty much perfect!
90k up on my QV after seven and a half years of ownership. Still makes me smile whenever I drive it. Even service bills have been reasonable using a specialist with many years experience of alfas and other Italian cars. Cannot be beaten even by others for smiles per mile.
Hi Russell - thanks for watching. Mine has 33k trouble free miles so far, the only issue a flat battery from me leaving the interior light on! 🥴 I got 4 years of all inclusive servicing for £500 when I bought the car - absolute bargain!
Great video, these are without a doubt the sexiest sports cars on the planet. Insanely fast too. The last of the petrol Quadrifoglios have future classics written all over them. ❤ I have one identical to the one in your video except the roof is painted as I like its looks better that way. I’ve owned it for about six months and haven’t found anything to dislike yet! Cheers from an Australian fan 👍🏽🎉🇮🇹
Hey Neil, how's it going mate? You are obviously a man of great taste! I agree that the last of this model is very likely to be very sought-after classic in the future. The newer models don't have alcantara seats, coloured stitching or carbon mirrors etc. etc. Shame. Mine has been totally reliable too - what's not to love? I bet all the local Holden & Ford V8 drivers hate you though? ;0)
I love the reaction from BMW “M” drivers too - most of those drivers are car guys, so they know what the Quad is and rarely try to flex on you! The outcome would be too uncertain to risk it 😂👍🏻
Hi Chris, Thank you for the detailed opinion on your Giulia. I've owned many classic Alfa's from the Sud, Alfetta sedans, 3 x V6 75, 164, 90, 156, and the last series 147. I currently own an ex UK import Prisma 1.6 1983 model that I restored with the hope of selling to buy a Giulia. Prisma was never offered in Australia, so it was appealing to save it due to rusty body, but the bones were good. One owner, all the paperwork and history, with very low milage. I hope to find one soon 🙏. Cheers from Oz 🇦🇺
Hi mate, thanks for watching! The Prisma is a car that has also disappeared from the UK, well done for saving it & good luck with your search for a Giulia. 😎👍🏻
Haha, well that’s great to hear mate - thanks very much for subscribing! Part of my problem is that I am my own worst critic and have high standards. A very busy life sometimes means that I can’t post regularly and I don’t like putting out “boring” videos (unlike some regular posting channels) but I’m hoping to be able to focus full time on the channel soon. You seem to be sitting on an Audi in your avatar but I assume you must like other brands too? Cheers Chris
@@TheAlfaNut Love your show! Not one issue. I also have a Stelvio Ti Sport (U.S.). It is still loads of fun & not one issue. The AWD is beyond amazing. 🤙🏽
@@edmasi Thanks for watching the channel Edmund - I appreciate the support! Wow, so you have a Stelvio too? Great choice. You obviously didn't fancy a Dodge Hornet then?? 😏
Hi Chris. Great video, thank you. Alan here - I have a Vesuvio Grey metallic QV and we met and chatted at the breakfast meet on Haldon at the US diner. I agree with you about the seats - they are superb. You did well to get the older spec car - I wouldn't want a QV without the coloured stitching, alcantara seats and painted calipers. I understand that the current cars don't get the carbon fibre roof either. The bean counters have ousted the engineers unfortunately. I'm very pleased with mine - it's got the same equipment as yours and coincidently is going in for it's 5th service at Vospers tomorrow. Keep the videos coming 👍👌😊
Hi Alan, hows it going mate? Your car makes a brief cameo in one of my videos from last year I think? Yes, a shame about the additional cosmetic spec being dropped.
I have been a Guila fan since they burst onto the car scene. I remember oggling a blue Guliia many years ago. I own a Giulietta QV manual, and I love owning and driving it, for the similar reasons Chris stated. Great car choice Chris and great video, but I didn't need much convincing.
Really happy for you! Your car, in this colour and spec, would be what I’d want too! This will be, hopefully, my next car! Just bought a M135i as that’s within my budget is also a great car.. albeit the usual BMW issues.
Catching up on some of your back catalogue mate, these for me are far better looking cars than the equivalents from BMW, Mercedes and most certainly the blandmobiles from Audi. My neighbour up the street has a red Giulia, its gorgeous 😍
Hi David, thanks for watching - I appreciate your support. Yes it’s a great looking car and I always look back after walking away, even after 18 months of ownership! Next step is a 604bhp remap from Celtic Tuning 😎😉👍🏻
Ah, good choices for you also Dmitri! I also have a 1998 156 V6 in red - they are very rare now in the UK. Mine is mostly restored and I will be finishing it this year. Did you see my videos about this car? 👍🏻
@@TheAlfaNut thank you Chris! Yes I've seen them all, love them! Been following your channel for some time already, love what you're doing and the style 🙏
Thanks for the support Dmitri, I am starting a second channel this month, (The Classic Nut) featuring some other cars like Lancia, Fiat, Maserati, even some cool German and French cars. Check it out 👍🏻
Chris I agree with all you say .only 1 thing I'd rather have the early screen Only because the finger prints on the screen. But let's face it alfa simply the best and your quadrifoglio is stunning my trofo white quadrifoglio is simply my dream car better than any German garbage alfa deep in my heart.
Great video Chris,a man after me own heart. That is a thing of great beauty you have there sir and it wouldnt be an Alfa if it didnt have its,as you rightly put it,1st world problems, after all its how she drives and makes you feel not her electronic quirkiness which makes an Alfistis heart beat faster and I must admit that should I own such a beast my own running costs in the form of speeding tickets here in the Netherlands In which every cm of road is watched with eagle eyes would be far too prohibitive. But having said that I too as a man in his fifties do occasionaly rise to the bait in my Giulietta QV,even though the result of said contest is not always as certain as in your Bella machina. Nice one mate.👍
Hi Rob, thanks for watching and I must say that (unless you are an Englishman living in the Netherlands), your English is excellent! You might be happy to learn that I will be featuring a Giulietta QV on my Alfa Nut channel very soon, comparing a 300+bhp car with my Diesel Super 2.0 JTDM! Should be a fun day. ;0)
Have the Veloce in the same colour and never get bored of it,I think it’s the sweet spot in the range without the QV costs, would love that engine note though…👍
Agreed - did you see my review on the veloce from a couple of years back? I loved it and if I bought one, would be straight down to Celtic tuning for a 320 bhp remap! 🔥
I got in November the veloce version in misano blue aswell and black leather seats its just an work of art absolute gem of a car ! My goal is to get one day the qv in Montreal green with the bucket seats pre or facelifted ... enjoy her it's an beautiful spec !
I own a 2017 quad, and the first thing that surprised me was how loud it is in any mode, infact I get embarrassed whenever I start it up in the morning and wake all the neighbours ha. I’ve tried it in every mode and tbh it sounds the same volume wise. I suspect the newer models actually got a lot more quiet over the years ? Anyway what a car, by far the best I’ve ever owned and driven. Anyone who I’ve let have a go have all been amazed how it drives and the power👌
Hi mate, thanks for watching - it sounds to me like whomever owned your car before has modified the exhaust valves to stay open all the time. I use a "Squadra Tuning" OBD plug in device to control mine, so I don't wake everyone up when I come home late! Yes, the later models got extra sound insulation and thicker window glass but the exhaust valve system is exactly the same, so your's must have been modified. Have fun!
Thanks for the vid. I have a 2018 that I've put over 90,000 miles so far, still have not serviced the carbon ceramic brakes. I've also averaged 15.5MPG over 90,000 miles!!!
Hi Cam - that's interesting (and encouraging) to hear! The feedback I've had about Quad's is that they are very reliable in the main. 15.5mpg makes you an instant hero! 😎
You are spot on. I love the colour choice, and the gods were with you with getting the right spec. You also made the right choice is getting the exhaust note to match how the car should actually sound when you drive it. It is a magnet for people and Im surprised how economical it is. I hope one day I may be able to get one.
Thanks Joseph, I think that the Quadrifoglio tends to attract positive attention, rather than the negative attention that a Porsche or BMW “M” cars can
@@TheAlfaNut I agree. The Alfa is more loved and bought by those who want a car that doesn't follow the majority. Being different in this case is better
The pillar your taking about is the B pillar, the one in front is the A, by the way I would find it hard to drive such a lovely car in the winter months with the salt being put on the road😢
Cheers Johnny - I’ve been well and truly educated on the pillars now thanks! 😂 I have stored the Giulia away in my unit this winter because, as you say - the salt and muddy roads are not good for it. She is out and about again now the sun is peeping out. 😎👍🏻
I couldn't agree more. I love my Quad too, wouldn't even consider a german although I did like my previous A3 Quattro, very nimble and sure footed, the Quad frightens the B-jesus out of me sometimes! Especially when I let my daughter drive it and she decided to chase a BMW ... Anyway, great video and it's the B pillar that you were referring to. I too find the vision more restrictive than my old A3 being a biker myself too. Do you find the wing mirrors are obtructive too, eg at roundabouts and righthand turns. This is the price we the car buying public have to pay for such safe cars these days. ( I think the blind spot detectors are in the wing mirrors having checked the price and details of a replacement!!!!
Thanks for watching Richard, glad to hear you love your Quad too - it really does get under your skin more than any other car I’ve owned (except perhaps my V6 Spider which I will be buried in!) 🤣
Totally agree with you on the info system - the BMW and Merc ones are just an iPad bolted on like an after thought - hideous. Italian design far better.
I absolutely love the Quad and would have one over any of its rivals without a shadow of a doubt. Like you said Chris, it gets criticism for it's infotainment system but as long as it plays a bit of music when you want it, who cares?? 👍
Haha, well its actually very good Russell but I like actually driving my car, not sitting in layby’s playing Forza on a 30” screen, or using my wifi hotspot! 😂
Hello Chris, loved the video, so much so that I've liked and subscribed! I own a Giulia Speciale and I've found that you can raise/lower the volume of the sat-nav independently of the radio if you adjust it during a spoken instruction. Try it and let me know how you get on... Might help loads of other Giulia owners too! 😊👍
Absolutely awesome car chris, one day I hope to have one on my driveway, there is just not another car out there I want to own, that is within my budget look forward to more videos then I will maybe take the plunge😉
Loved the review, thanks for taking the time to share your experience with the Quad! I rented one for the weekend and found it being mistaken for a BMW by observers who I would think should know the difference. While the driving experience is excellent, In terms of looks, it doesn't seem to be that different than a BMW. What are your trhoughts on the styling not being set apart from the competition?
I would dearly love a Quad, but still put of my budget at present. I do however have a phase 1 916 Spider twinning and a GT 3.2 V6. That busso is a lovely engine, my 2nd busso in fact. Anyway, great video and I think the final few statements about bling etc....pretty much sums up the general car buying feeling these days. People only seem to want German or Japanese cars these days. Give me an Alfa any day.
amazing car. for someone that has been looking at MKZ 3.0 and Fusion Sport. this thing is clearly is superior to both. its kind of unfair to compare them from a cost of ownership perspective of course but shitttt is that thing a beast.
Hi Jon, thanks for watching. Yes it is a beast but when you daily drive it, you sometimes forget until somebody in an Audi S4 or similar flexes on you, then you nail them to the wall when the lights change! That never gets old 😂
Chris, God knows how you get 34 MPG - I have a 2019 Stelvio Quad daily driver which I adore, but even with ‘A’ mode on a boring motorway, radar cruise set at 66MPH I only get 30MPG … maybe it’s the Stelvio’s aero & AWD compared to the Guilia … ? Or maybe 2022 is more efficient … 🤔 Agree with the poster who mentioned ‘clickbait titles’ - plus TH-camrs like JM who don’t really know cars - so much **** talked … the Giorgio platform is stunning 👍
My guess would be AWD transmission losses for the mpg difference but I think your Stelvio would beat me off the line so it’s a fair trade off! To be honest, I’m not worried about the haters - it makes me laugh when the Quadrifoglio’s get dissed because the truth is these are the finest drivers saloon cars available & anyone who disputes it simply hasn’t driven one. Fact! 😎👍🏻🔥
@@TheAlfaNut I think its more a case that they are people who are a) too scared to buy an Alfa because they believe the BS they read from 90% of the car TH-camr - Influencer brigade who know little about cars and less about driving - and b) because they have bought something dull, heavy and German - because they really don't know the difference. I've spent a lifetime racing and around racetracks - to me handling and dynamic performance is EVERYTHING. I could give a **** about how big your Tees-lah's entertainment screen is, it's all about the driving!
@@TheFabulousTrackPackI think you are exactly right - I had this argument with a local mechanic who had an Audi S5 and genuinely thought his was the better car because it was “built better” and had a better interior! That’s fine if you have to live in your car but if you want to actually enjoy driving it, then a different set of criteria applies I would suggest! 😂
Hi Chris, Thanks for the review of the Q. For your little music problem: did you try to switch of the Autoplay function in the settings of the infotainment system, maybe this helps. The blindspot monitoring has two extra sensors in the rear bumper under the taillight for monitoring the blind spot. And as always nice video, my Giulia is about to be one year old and i don't want to miss it, perfect car with the Q4 for the south german winter roads.
I just subscribed! Am I crazy, I'm going to buy a 1987 Milano Gold .... oops sorry I'm in the States, 75. fix it for a daily driver!!! And it's an automatic! And I'm poor! I'm just jealous.. the most modern Alfa I drove was a 1991- 164L, 5 speed, if Only it was rear drive.. my previous Milano 3.0 'Verde' was unfortunately a rust bucket.. clutch was slipping, body work patched up horribly. I have to laugh at this. Your Guilia still all the old Alfa Quirks but in a newer car! Got to love it! It's hard not resist.. the temptation to 'race' .. some 'As...h..e' driver, yes as a mature driver, it makes sense not to resist the temptation to 'blow his doors off' an old saying in the states. I'll be going on number 17.. I hit the bell ringer!
Great video. Of course the Giulia Quadrofoglio is a fantastic car, but as for the driving experience, do you consider it's better and more fun to drive than other Alfa Romeos? If you compare with the Giulia Veloce 280 hp, is it really 10 times better?
Hi Stanislas, well I drove the Veloce too and I actually think that it is the best all-round Giulia. However, the Veloce is only a little better on fuel than the Quad! 😂
@@TheAlfaNut Hi Chris, Thank you for your answer. I am thinking to buy a Giulia Veloce in the future, before the next generation of electric Alfa Romeos.
I have a 2023 Veloce and love the car. The car is missing good engine sound/exhaust and it does feel kind of slow. The Quadrofoglio is on my mind all the time.
A few questions for fellow QV owners.... mine is now 15 mths old; 13k miles. How many sets of tires has yours eaten (mine is on set #3 on the front due to horrific inner wear) What MPG are you getting - mine is a massive 19.7! In almost every metric this car is pointless, as my normally daily drive is either through a town centre or on a heavily speed camera laden 40mph ring road. It's expensive and the power is a complete waste 99.9% of the time. The problem is I love it.
Hi Will, I am about to change my original Pirelli Corsas after 15k miles, so pretty amazed by that and I don’t drive like a grandma! My mpg averages about 22 but the my daily commute is motorway. Yes its a monster car that can’t be used fully very often but I wouldn’t swap it for anything else as a daily. Its awesome
Love the vid and your Quad Chris, not quite in the market yet but my 159TI still floating my boat after 20K in a little over 12 months. /Is there a better looking saloon than a 159? It miight just be the Gulia
Thanks for watching mate, appreciate the comments. The 159 is still a stunning car - name something prettier on the road? I think its actually better looking than the Quad 🙂👍🏻
@@TheAlfaNut it’s a 2009 with 157k on the clock Alfa red with tan leather like in your earlier vids love it but love the Quad too just need to sell the house 👍
Lovely car. I daily drive a Giulia Veloce TI, as doing 25k miles a year 23mpg hurts. The TI has all the carbon bits and the quad interior plus it’s also in Misano and has quad wheels. Not quite as fast but fast enough. For my fun car i have something from Maranello so the Veloce is good. But for one car to do the job of both, the Quad would be ideal.
@@TheAlfaNut Figured. Checked but I didn't see so I thought I'd mention it. Good video though, I just wish I could afford one as well. Guess I have to stick with my 156 a bit longer.
Thanks for watching - I’m not sure I can afford it either, certainly not without a car contribution from my work! I need new tyres now - about £1200 😞 I have a 1998 156 as well - waiting for an interior swap to finish its restoration. Taken me several years but such a great (and rare) car. What model is yours?
@@TheAlfaNut Sadly I have a job where I can't get a company car so I have to pay for it all by myself. So, no Giulia Q for me unless I win the lottery. :/ I have a 2004 156 2.5 SW Distinctive. About 175000 km now and still in very good condition, except for having it rear ended a while ago. No major damage but a new rear door and some bodywork needed. It'll be fine when it's done.
You are spot on with what you say about the Alfa. My farther has 2018 standard Gulia. Although not QV is nice car to drive. He also used to have BMW 530i felt much softer not as precise to drive. Here in UK lots badge snobbery. Got have my BMW, Mercedes. I just say try Alfa most astonishing car you can drive.
Agreed Andrew - the Germans have also worked out that interior toys sell cars! BmW & Mercs have a focus on the cabin equipment, Alfa focus on making you feel good when you drive. I know which one I prefer! 😉
In all my Alfas I've experienced the b pillar problem. Having the seat all the way back makes it get in the way. What do they do in Japan? Re: salting the roads?
Hi mate, probably worse for drivers over 6feet? In some areas of Japan, they use a network of hot water pipes under the road! (Geothermal in places like Iceland!)
Γεια σας φίλε, ευχαριστώ για την παρακολούθηση! (I hope that is correct? 😬) I miss my old GT - it was replaced with a Giulietta and the GT was better!

The Quadrifoglio is perfect for any occasion! Has gorgeous looks, brut power and amazing handling, just dances around its competition! 🍀
Thanks for watching mate, it's a Wolf in Wolf's clothing!! ;0)
@@TheAlfaNut it sure is! It’s great supporting a fellow Alfisti 👍
Appreciate it! Do you have an Alfa at the moment?
I agree with your comment about seats - I have sat in two of my brother's BMWs - the first one a 5 series, and the other an X5. I can confirm they are nothing to write home about. The seats in my 159 are much more comfortable and supportive, but the best seats that I have ever sat in are those in the first generation Saab 9-5.
Hi Arti - thanks for watching and commenting. I’ve never owned a SAAB but always liked them - they were quirky!
Thank you! I hope you enjoy it - the Quadrifoglio is amazing, I wish more people knew it! 😉👍🏻
@@TheAlfaNut From my experiance in my country this is actually the only Alfa that even all the Alfa haters and germen fans have a lot of respect for!
One of the most beautiful sports sedans on the market, it handles great, has a lot of grip and a lot of power. I think it's great, my next car will be an Alfa Romeo.
You have excellent taste Daniele! 😎👍🏻
Thanks for sharing Sotiris! You are an Alfa Nut too! I may be featuring a 33 on my channel soon 😊
Plenty of older Alfas here (from the 70s) and I had a 33 1.7 when I was living in UK in the late 80s. Sweet engine.
Great video Chris, I love the Quadrifoglio....What a machine
Thanks a lot for watching mate, I appreciate the suppprt. Do you have an Alfa?
That Misano blue does look stunning!! I'm really happy for you
Ciao Aldo - thanks for watching! 👍🏻
Enjoy.
Thanks Michael, sorry to hear you had a problem with your car - fingers crossed it won’t happen to me, I love the Quadrifoglio!
I want one but can’t afford one so I’ll stick with my Brera still enjoy it immensely every time I get in it
Hi mate, thanks very much for watching - I can't really afford one either!
Do you know what tune it has to bring up the power that much?
Celtic Tuning
Hi mate, thanks for commenting and watching. Good to hear that you love the Quad, especially after coming from a tuned M5. The Quad is a great handling car and they do seem to have got all the ingredients working so well together.
I might pay them a visit this year - they’re only an hour away from me! 😈
Hello. Great channel. I love Alfas and will be buying my first one next Wednesday. Gulietta 2015 JTDM 2. Cant wait. Subbed.
Hi Art, thanks for watching and hope you enjoy your Giulietta - I’m currently making a video about that very car - I have a JTDM2 as well - 2.0 Super. 👍🏻
Art, the 1750tbi is a better version of the Giulietta if its not too late.
Congratulations on your new Alfa! I need one… for sure! 🎉
Thanks for watching Carlos - it's the best car I have ever had! You should try one.
Enjoyed your video Chris but sadly for me I bought a brand new Alfasud Sprint when I was 23 years old I am now 72 years old and can never forget the experience of
Watching a car rust away at speed that at three years old the little Alta was a complete rust bucket.
Hi Frank - thanks for watching, although I have to say: Come on, 50 years is a long time to hold a grudge! New Alfas are very reliable & galvanised these days!
You’re living proof that being old doesn’t mean that you get smarter or wiser
You are so right! 😂
Hello from the states. I own a modified 2009 bmw 335i e90 sedan pushing about 525 hp and I love it but quad is definitely a dream car of mine.
Hey Will, you wouldn’t regret buying a Quad, trust me! 😉
It seems we’re lucky that Alfa drivers can restrain themselves - most of the time 🤭
Yes - most of the time! 😉
well put(most of the time) lmao I only own a 159 but corners like very few cars out there!!
@@AXLCOKE13 the 159 is almost the perfect car but the Giulia QV is in fact the perfect car.
Why did you sold it?
@@tsvetelin6556 I absolutly don't disagree with you on that!!
Love it
Haha, yes thanks Ben - you are probably the 100th person to tell me! 😂
@@TheAlfaNut I had a good scroll and didn’t come across any others but figured as much! Don’t know if I said this but what a car!!

Hi Mark, I was actually returning home from a trip up North. I did some of the filming on the way. Was I speeding? 🤣
@@TheAlfaNut ❤️
Excellent review. I love my Veloce and wouldn´t swap it for anything but I WOULD love a QV next to it. BTW, @13:30 you´re referring to the B-pillar. The A pillar is at the front. You know... A - B - C etc. Drive tastefully.
Haha thanks, I always get confused over those! 😆
The heated steering wheel is definitely a welcoming feature on a cold winter's morning. By the way wonderful and amazing vehicle choice and a excellent video review ❤
Appreciate the compliment mate - apart from the ballistic performance, what is your favourite thing about the car?
It’s not clickbait - the title was referring to the cost of daily driving a Quad, not the reliability!
do you still have it ? i was thinking of getting a scatpack or a quadrifoglio
@@assist7257Yes I still have the vehicle and it’s been flawless. It’s only been in the shop for oil changes. There is a recall to replace the sticker on the drivers door jam because it has the wrong tire pressure listed… lol. Other than that it’s been perfect.
@assist7257 yes, it’s my daily driver! 3 years & 33,000 miles of trouble free, awesome motoring. What an amazing car. ❤️
@@TheAlfaNut i was thinking of getting a high mileage guila between 49k miles- 60k miles, is that agood idea?
Great review! You should get a gold star for still holding a valid driving licence.
Haha, yes it hasn’t been easy - those police camera vans parked at the side of the road and on motorway bridges are the worst!
What do you have now?
I have a BMW 550i currently but am looking to go back to the Quadrifoglio if I can get one for the right price. I sold my 2017 at the height of Covid and got $4k more than I paid for it and owned it for 2 years putting about 54k miles on it. Car prices are starting to stabilize in my area a bit now.
The 550i is a nice car - great engine and performance, although I have heard about reliability problems with BMW V8’s. Not sure how true that is, I’ve only ever had straight 6 BMW’s.
THank you for the video! It's my dream car
Cheers for watching Alex - it really is a dream car but one you can use every day! Fuel bills are pretty epic as well though! 😱😱
You are not crazy at all. Just a very like man, who owns a stunning Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio.
Thank you Roberto - many thanks for watching! 👍🏻🙂
A piece of Italian art. I hope to own one one day!
Thanks for watching and good luck!
thx for the video. Love the car. planning to get one. and we dutch people make some nice tuning stuff. Have fun.
Certainly cheaper to run than the Quad! 😂
No, not better than the quad, quad was built first, then the cheaper versions followed like the one you have
@@Hottest-in-da-Hood performance-wise, I completely agree! But as a daily driver, the Q4 is more convenient, that’s what I’m saying.
Chris, I think that is a very honest opinion about alfaa in general and quadrigfolio in particular.
Would you recommend an extended warranty?
I bet all the local Holden & Ford V8 drivers hate you though? ;0)
@@TheAlfaNut haha, yes, indeed they do!
I love the reaction from BMW “M” drivers too - most of those drivers are car guys, so they know what the Quad is and rarely try to flex on you! The outcome would be too uncertain to risk it 😂👍🏻

Hi Randall, thanks very much for watching and I would say keep pushing for a Quad, I can't really afford mine either! ;0)

Hi Alan, hows it going mate? Your car makes a brief cameo in one of my videos from last year I think? Yes, a shame about the additional cosmetic spec being dropped.

Great video Chris,a man after me own heart. That is a thing of great beauty you have there sir and it wouldnt be an Alfa if it didnt have its,as you rightly put it,1st world problems, after all its how she drives and makes you feel not her electronic quirkiness which makes an Alfistis heart beat faster and I must admit that should I own such a beast my own running costs in the form of speeding tickets here in the Netherlands
In which every cm of road is watched with eagle eyes would be far too prohibitive. But having said that I too as a man in his fifties do occasionaly rise to the bait in my Giulietta QV,even though the result of said contest is not always as certain as in your Bella machina.
Nice one mate.👍

Good video and confirms my lust for the car. BTW its B pillar with the front screen being A pillar and rear screen is the C pillar.
Haha thanks Simon - I’ve been corrected about a million times on that so far! 😂
Have fun!
Thanks for the info 👌. I had assumed the flap in the exhaust had been modified, tbh I never really change it from d mode ha ha
As standard, the flaps only open in Race mode during normal driving and even then only really when you are booting it!
I own one. Fantastic to drive and look at
Thanks for the vid.
Sat Nav volume is adjustable independent of radio.
Adjust volume when Sat Nav is talking
Thanks for watching - yes I was aware of that but even after turning it off, the music / radio still comes back on if you touch the volume control!
I own a petrol Mito QV, love it everyday! Drove a Mito Diesel 1.4 before.
Thanks for sharing mate, I haven’t driven a Mito yet - is it fun?
Thats an awesome daily driver, sounds sooo awesome! 🤩
Thanks for watching Mikael, glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
The perfect Alfa! Thanks for shareing. Is it my imagination or do most cars now have the B pillar much more forward than before?
Hi Henry, yes I think it may be more common - its probably due to interior “packaging” of vehicles changing due to CAD design?
The pillar your taking about is the B pillar, the one in front is the A, by the way I would find it hard to drive such a lovely car in the winter months with the salt being put on the road😢
Cheers Johnny - I’ve been well and truly educated on the pillars now thanks! 😂
I have stored the Giulia away in my unit this winter because, as you say - the salt and muddy roads are not good for it.
Thanks for watching Richard, glad to hear you love your Quad too - it really does get under your skin more than any other car I’ve owned (except perhaps my V6 Spider which I will be buried in!)
🤣
Totally agree with you on the info system - the BMW and Merc ones are just an iPad bolted on like an after thought - hideous. Italian design far better.
Thanks for watching, I’m glad that Alfa spent the money on the driving experience rather than the creature comforts!
@@TheAlfaNut 😂😂 Brilliant 👍
🤓
Hello Chris, loved the video, so much so that I've liked and subscribed! I own a Giulia Speciale and I've found that you can raise/lower the volume of the sat-nav independently of the radio if you adjust it during a spoken instruction. Try it and let me know how you get on... Might help loads of other Giulia owners too! 😊👍
Vielen Dank! I will give that a try and thanks very much also for subscribing - much appreciated! 😎👍🏻
Absolutely awesome car chris, one day I hope to have one on my driveway, there is just not another car out there I want to own, that is within my budget look forward to more videos then I will maybe take the plunge😉
Thanks for watching John, its worth stretching the budget a bit - I had to! 😂
The economy figures are astonishing. We're contemplating a lease car and would love a Giulia QV.
Do it, I don’t think you’ll regret it!
Great report Chris!
... and I loved what you said at the end about what is special about driving an Alfa!
Aw thanks Mike - appreciate you watching. What can I say - we are Alfaholics! 😎
I have to admit... I have wiped the floor with some people in my Alfa as well. Sometimes they ask for it no matter how much you try to ignore them ❤
Hi Carlos - thanks for watching! Haha yes, sometimes it just has to be done to shake off the pesky boy racers! ;0)
Thanks for watching and commenting! Yes, the Giulia is a little bland compared to designs like the 159 but still a handsome car in my opinion.
Most comfortable seats I've sat on were in a 2011 Cadillac DTS 🥰wow!
Hi mate, was that the really fast Cadillac?
@@TheAlfaNut nah, she had some power though... A nice v8 engine. Pure luxury though. I just had to put her down, RIP
Chris you're full of you know what... the correct opinion haha. Can't imagine choosing an M3 over this.
Hi mate, hope you are good? It wouldn't be the first time someone had said that! Thanks for watching right to the end!! 😉
Hi James, thanks a lot for watching and commenting! Hang onto that 3.2 GT - they are starting to nudge up in value 😎
Great car,great video!more updates about it!cheers
Thanks for watching mate, I will be making more videos about the Quadrifoglio, including upgrading to 604bhp! 😎😈
Good choice , greetings from Italy 😉.
Hi Lorenzo - come stai? 😎👍🏻
@@TheAlfaNut Molto bene grazie 😉, tu?
Mi sento bene anche garazie! 🕺🏻
amazing car. for someone that has been looking at MKZ 3.0 and Fusion Sport. this thing is clearly is superior to both. its kind of unfair to compare them from a cost of ownership perspective of course but shitttt is that thing a beast.
@@TheAlfaNut I presented the Audi Driving Experience in the UK for five years. Ask any mechanic about S5 steering racks … ☠️
Guten tag Max! Thanks for the suggestion, I will try that out. Thanks for watching also 😎👍🏻
I just subscribed!
Good idea - you will love the Veloce and with a simple remap, you can get 320 bhp 🥳
I have a 2023 Veloce and love the car. The car is missing good engine sound/exhaust and it does feel kind of slow. The Quadrofoglio is on my mind all the time.
Alfa Romeo forever!😊
I agree but I’m not looking forward to electric Alfas! 🫣
@@TheAlfaNut that's true😔
A few questions for fellow QV owners.... mine is now 15 mths old; 13k miles.
How many sets of tires has yours eaten (mine is on set #3 on the front due to horrific inner wear)
What MPG are you getting - mine is a massive 19.7!
Its awesome
great choice bro
Thanks Dean, appreciate you stopping by 👍🏻
Love the vid and your Quad Chris, not quite in the market yet but my 159TI still floating my boat after 20K in a little over 12 months.
Thanks for watching - yes 23mpg is not ideal, even though I only do 12k miles per year it still hurts! I am still smiling however! 😂
Beautiful car, I'd love to have a drive in one.
Thanks Dean - is there an Alfa dealer near you? 😉
I'd rather have this than a 3 Series that's for sure.
Me too, even an M3 😉👍🏻
Just a note, it's the B-pillar.
Thanks! A lot of people have told me! 😂
I need new tyres now - about £1200 😞
I have a 1998 156 as well - waiting for an interior swap to finish its restoration. Taken me several years but such a great (and rare) car. What model is yours?
@@TheAlfaNut Sadly I have a job where I can't get a company car so I have to pay for it all by myself. So, no Giulia Q for me unless I win the lottery. :/
I have a 2004 156 2.5 SW Distinctive.
@@TheAlfaNut yeah I'm lanky. 😁
So only midgets allowed in your back seat then? 😆
They use sparkling water to melt ice on the roads too. True.
@@andygriffiths9916 How weird! 😂
