    After the last video when we did the free travel mod its time to lower the suburban. This is the method I used and is the best video of how to lower a chevrolet suburban you will find. In this video I will show you step by step how to lower a chevy suburban. It will also work on a yukon denali escalade tahoe yukon xl cadillac exv avalanche and cadillac est. I wanted this video to be in depth and describe how to do it in detail. I show you all the parts and they are listed above. I also talk about all the torque specs that you will need on the suburban. I loved the look of a lowered or slammed suburban. It is something you just don't see everyday.

    I did a 3/5" drop on my 16' Yukon 3 years ago. I bought my kit from Norcal SS. On the auto air ride in the rear, I replaced the set screw with a shorter so it couldn't go back up too far. The free travel mod is a PITA on the drivers side with the tank sitting right there. I have 24" DUBS and I'm thinking about going to a 22" wheel. The stock size wheels look good with your drop.

    Amazing video, just wondering though, if I plan on doing a 3/4 drop on my 2013 Avalanche with no auto ride suspension, would I use the same exact parts or is there a few things in this video i don’t need to use? The air bags you put into the Trail Blazer springs is that only for the auto ride system? Lastly the street performance shocks how do they feel compared to using the stocks and would I need to do the free travel mod?

    • @TWAMotorsports
      @TWAMotorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would be almost identical. You can't use stock shocks. Love the belltech shocks. Airbags are to help hauling extra weight. Nothing to do with autoride which this suburban doesn't have. I do travel mod anytime over 3" in the rear

      do not use a coil spring up front for more drop. if you must keep autoride use a spring cup that relocates the spring on strut. look up drop cup.

Sometimes even pulling it down by hand while hitting it with the impact is all you need. Every now & then I lay a pry bar on top of the control arm & underneath a turn in the coil for a little more pressure. Either way nice work. Because in the video you said the spindles get you 2 inches and you put 3 rings to get you another inch and a half.
    Since I got the 3 inch spindles, should I go 4 rings to get the same height?

    With the axle moving up closer to the body, does it shift to one side or the other and does the rear track bar need to be replaced with a shorter unit as well? The same concept as when lifting these. And how well does it align if the rear axle has shifted do to being compressed, so to speak? Also, I'm curious about why only the lower control arms are relocated, and why the uppers aren't touched? They are no longer parallel. Does it cause any funny drivability and control issues?
