    Andrew almost need a second finer disk screener to separate the dirt and the small wood and then bundlel up the smaller wood for kindling or campfire wood. I think that would maximize the use of product and profit.

    Looks good Andrew. Clean wood is the only way. If i was going to feed it with a conveyor a dsc10 would be fine. It separates the product enough to get it clean.

    I would like to see an all in reasonably priced set up that’s for a smaller operation . So 1 man can split & send it to a small screener & small conveyor to load totes , trailers or bags . The set up you had here was great but I believe to big for most people .

  • @johnnieset9518
    @johnnieset9518 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just a thought. Why not put a slant box hopper on the disc cleaner to feed it? If you feel the extra time to lift the boom is an issue, lower the cleaner and increase the length of the out feed conveyor to accommodate trucks/trailers. Then it could be all one machine, perhaps less maintenance and easier to set up. Just thinking out loud.

  • @bwillan
    @bwillan ปีที่แล้ว +3

    It also looked like you didn't need the full 20' length of the cleaner. All of the debris was filtered out in the first half of the cleaner. Based on your statement about the time it takes to raise and lower the boom, I wonder if you could setup the disc cleaner at it's lowest height and then use a separate conveyor on the outfeed side to load into a dump trailer. You could then load into the cleaner directly and not worry about spilling firewood from the bucket.

    Fun vid today Andrew! Always enjoy dropping by your channel! All points that you mentioned definitely benefited in that short load time! I like the custom hopper end on the conveyor.. just a thought / suggestion, could it be loaded from the rear of the conveyor instead of the side? I wonder, by doing that the wood would funnel to the conveyor more equally and it may be alittle quicker picking it up as it’s falling in, that would also help with wood spilling out perhaps to, although it could make for a wider hopper perhaps 🤷‍♂️ anyways just a quick thought I had 😊! Love the channel Andrew! Keep up the awesome work! Andrew from NB :)

    Keeping the debris away from the disc cleaner needs addressing. That stuff almost needs to go through another cleaner to save the small wood/kindling. But it works great, it transforms the way the wood looks after it's been over the cleaner.

  • @keithebersol5339
    @keithebersol5339 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Have you ever thought of adding a 10ft heavy duty hopper with a conveyor bottom that would run in line with a 10 ft disc cleaner? If it would be built well enough to dump a big bucket on at once and slowly feed the cleaner as you get the next scoop would that not be more efficient?

  • @mikevankuiken3916
    @mikevankuiken3916 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just a thought, could u put a cleaner in the elevator say like 3/4 of it? I think that would be good for smaller operations and a metal catch pan to catch the scraps underneath it w/ fork pockets. Then its more of a portable unit...just a thought

    Nice setup. Definitely the 20 ft disc cleaner works best in that situation. 10 is perfect coming off the processor or splitter with less volume to clean. How do we load clean firewood today? - by hand. It’s a lot slower but it’s cleaner because we sort out rot pieces that the disc cleaner currently does not. Like to move to this process, but will need better log sorting in order to maintain a premium clean product. This setup will definitely help us move firewood faster. Thanks for the video.
