As a die hard Aviar guy, I'll definitely putt with the Pixel in my MVP rounds. I like to switch up brands from time to time - dive into each ecosystem - and the Pixel will replace my Nomad at some point. On the aside, I think the individual preferences seem to matter more with putting putters than throwing putters. Maybe not dramatically, but I think that explains why there's so much changeup even between nearly identical molds for putters.
For me, it feels like, and isn't too far off from shape-wise, a thick EMAC Judge. Didn't care for it for putting or throwing, and it me wonder how many people will actually end up using it long-term.
Im running a pixel only tournament tommorow. 36 players registered. Many of us were practicing today. It flew tremendously. Straight and glidey. Maybe you should do some field work
@justsomerando8206 I didn't say it flew poorly, did I? I said I didn't care for it. It's deep and has a non-generic profile, which means it's not going to be for everyone. Maybe you should do some reading practice before you add in details people didn't say. Good luck with the tournament!
@MegaLaban12345 Maybe you should! Some people will use it regardless, sure, but a disc having a weird handfeel actually is a pretty solid predictor of long-term adoption.
I hated the Emac Judge too, but I think the Nova was selling pretty good when McBeth was using them. There are a lot of simpleton fans out there that will just buy and use it regardless. I'll admit I bought a Lizotle but I knew I already loved the feel of the Hex, which to your point, is going to be a great feeling disc for just about everyone. The Agent putter from Dynamic feels amazing to me, seems like it would feel great for most people but I don't think it's that popular cause no big pro uses it, but it throws and putts amazingly 🤷
Im just a discmania guy, this thing more P1, P1x, P2, or does it have that shoulder like a rainmaker? I know in the video you mentioned it wasn't as deep as a P2 but would love to know your thoughts. Thanks!
I would say it’s more between the old P1 and the P2. If you didn’t know. The old P2 is the Aviar mold made a touch deeper, so the comparison between this and the Innova made P2 would be pretty similar to the Pixel vs Aviar, it’s just the P2 is deeper and more overstable. The new P2 is much sharper on the bottom of the wing and the wing sits higher imo, so it’s pretty different from the new P2, there really isn’t anything in Discmania’s lineup that it would be close to shape wise… maybe close to the P1? But even the P1 I remember was pretty shallow
@@ApolloDiscGolf appreciate the comparisons. I've used all the putters you mentioned in the past so it's for sure something I'd be interested in trying. Did you get any of the soft plastics in? I tend to enjoy a softer putter but I'm very green in the MVP line up.
Hi hello! I putt atoms but im trying out pixels for now because fun. The atoms and pixels are almost as far apart in feel as you could be, that being said i generally dont like deeper putters but im suprised with how much i like the pixel so far.
Does the soft feel shallower than the other plastics? Asking because I’m normally a shallow putter guy, and the softs I got don’t feel as deep as I expected.
the artwork on the pixel is bad - straight up. Simon - and everyone who buys this will wipe the stamp. We know simon likes to have no stamp - or a stamp on the putter that cannot be "face up". Why not design something cool that would work. come one
"Everyone"? I'm strongly considering buying a Pixel, and I'm only interested in feel, performance, and a visible color. I'm not throwing a piece of artwork -- it's a disc! I would never consider spending money or time modifying a disc. I play for exercise, fresh air, and being with friends.
when you do the side by side shots against an Aviar it's like damn - this video is perfect and so helpful to understand this new disc.
Your reviews are always the best, David. Thank you.
i enjoy listening to you talk about plastic circles
The parting line was lower on the Aviar, which would explain the under stability

As a die-hard aviar user, I plan on working a pixel into the rotation just for fun
I’m the same. I do dirty things with my halo, Star and champ Aviar. I picked this up and and YES! This feels like my AVIAR!
Just dropping in to say we miss you bud. Hope you and the family are doing well. Merry Christmas!

People throw discs I think feel like absolute shit. How something feels to me is not something I use to judge the probability of success for discs.

looks like a good putter tbh

It's not a discmania disc and he shows the profile very clearly. I apologize if you're blind.
@@mindlander thanks chief
He was asking for a comparison to a Discmania mold rather than an Innova mold.@@mindlander

Can you notice the bead on the pixel? Or do you have to feel for it? I don't like non beaded putters so I'm curious... Thanks
Is the pixel similar in feel to the atom?

Are you playing black hoof?
Where are you playing at?
K.C. local
I need your location
It just needs a giant bead and itll be perfect
It’s like a Nova
not true. the Atom and the Anode do not have a bead

The special edition looks like hot dogshit.
But the base one doesn't look too bad in my opinion, it's simple, conservative, minimal.
Are you dumb? The pixel artwork REFLECTS the name smh. I like the design of it. It resembles a pixel. It’s what it’s intended to be.
I really like the stock run stamp personally
