Nice show here. Well, I just found myself a 1966 Omega Constellation 163.001 with arabic, small lugs, slim case and with a 712 cal. 😎 Beautiful clean design. It feels like a vintage WWII watch.
WOW thats a lot of options ( a lot to collect) Thanks for showing the variations. Favorite is the brown strap last one, because it looks like mine...Would love to add one with arrowhead indexes... Totally appreciate your time, great video!!!
5:55 My dad has been wearing a gold 168.029 for the last 53 years. It's the first watch I've ever seen in my life and grew up thinking Omega is the real watch while using Casio's and Seiko's as a child.
Constellation pie pan dial is the watch that gives me strongest emotions, for me is an art piece and I hope to get one in the future. 168.025 (1968) is unbelievable 🤤🤤🥰. Congratulations for the excellent work on this channel. You are the best!!
I have one very similar to one in dead center of your thumbnail. Sort of grey/silver face. I think mine is 1967. Missing the stainless band. Dad replaced it and possibly threw it out. So have black buffalo skin band. Gorgeous too.
@@TimelessHistoryChannel Just looked at mine again and it's different from yours so mine is very common. It has day/date. Also dial is different . Mine is not smooth. It has ridges. Stainless not white gold version. 😆I love it but need the original stainless band.
In 1999 I managed to win a Pie Pan Constellation with date complication in an eBay auction. My watchmaker told me it was made in the early to mid 1960s. It has a nice stainless case with dog leg lugs. The dial looked kind of bubbled and nasty, and against my watchmaker's advice, had him send it out for refinishing, having had a couple of excellent results on other refinished watch dials. Well, the dial came back with some problems, so it was returned, and while it is not bad, it is far from perfect. One of the dangers of having a pie pan dial refinished (besides the obvious, ruining the collector value) is the risk of losing the crispness of the straight edges between the hour markers. Mostly mine came back nice and crisp, but one or two are a bit rounded. I always get compliments when I wear it, but anyone with an eye for vintage Omegas would catch it immediately. It still looks better than it did when I got it, so I suppose I didn't lose that much, but in hindsight I would probably just save my pennies and buy one in better condition to begin with. Thanks for another wonderful video, this one was VERY relaxing!
You can always message me through Patreon or "Buy me a coffee" regarding questions unrelated to what I have for sale. Or as a second option you can always ask directly on the Omega forums website.
Dude I found a 1975 constellation...in Manhattan in a thrown out jewelry box...the person had the band replaced with a cheap metal Chinese one and the face was broke so the replacemed it with a mass produced plastic type...but I knew something was odd about it for a "fake" so I had it looked at...the jewelry box shop offered 500$ on the spot
You can find a ton of information on the Speedmaster models all over the web. There are more fake and made up examples than a good fine example. You should visit www.speedmaster101.com for more info.
I have a 1969 168.029, I love it but I have trouble setting the date and day as I rarely wear it, so when I do its a pain to wind it all the way through. Maybe it needs service or maybe I am just not using it correctly.
Hi, sounds like there is an issue with the calendar if you are having a hard time setting it. The date can be easily set by using the quick set feature. The Day can be set by turning the hands every 24hrs. And if let says today is a Friday, and your watch shows Saturday. You can counter clock turn the hands 24hrs for each day to change backward instead. Not going to harm the watch if it is regularly serviced (3-5 years)
@@TimelessHistoryChannel Thank you for the advice. I just had a look mine must have a fault, pull out the crown once and you can adjust the time and go through the days as you said. But pulling it out to its second position it just spins and does nothing, when you then push it in fully the date moves forward one position. So it sounds like my watch is damaged and needs attention.
@@bradm7046 The quick set date feature on a caliber 751 is the same as a caliber 613, 563, 564, and 565. When you pull the crown out to the second click, the date will jump once. Push the crown back in and pull out again for each date to change. If it does not change when you pull it out to the second click. That could mean the quick set level is missing or it is broken. Best to get it check up as the broken piece can jam the setting part of the watch or damage the calendar disc.
Back again use to repair omegas in the eighties and nineties for my favourite and best employer who was a omega dealership the best job I ever had in my life. They closed down because of lease and rent charge increase was a fine family business now no longer here
@@TimelessHistoryChannel Thanks for your reply. Sorry I missed the keyword. I mean the Omega C shape Constellation. I tried to remove it using the one for Rolex but somehow it doesn’t work for me.
@@bigmak8389 This one I only use a knife to remove it. It is a difficult one and you can easily scratch the side. So be careful. If you're unable to do it yourself, best to let a watchmaker do it for you.

I just love the pie pan dials. Such elegant pieces. I also love the dial variations within each of the range of Omega watches.

Arrowhead, highest in demand. During the 1960s, Omega continued to use the Arrowhead indexes until around 1963.
@@TimelessHistoryChannel They are on my bucket list of Omegas
Loving the linen dial c shapes right now. That grey dial degrade/fume you have is a stunner. I've never seen that dial before.
Excellent video and great introduction to the designs from the 60s. Bold, monumental. They really nailed the style of that period

Very useful video for the potential collector.
So many choices . . . Such clean design aesthetic! Very hard to choose!
fair enough. :-)
I’d be very happy with any of them, but today my eye is being drawn to the ‘Calatrava’ models. Thanks for sharing!
Good choice!
Lovely work, thank you. Omega’s high point and never bettered in my opinion.
Calatrava how many where build..?

Thank you for answering my E Mail questions. The Constellation on the bracelet is what reference / case size. Man those watches are sweet.
You're very welcome.
The C shaped style is familiar as I grew in the 1970’s but the Calatrava is very nice indeed!
Good job. Thanks!!!
Vintage watches have real style 👍🙂
Very nice
My (very rare) dream.. the constellation 167.021..gosh
Black Pie pan dial stainless case. thanks!
Case model 168.005. How can you go wrong with that choice!? haha
Pie pan, dog leg lugs, pretty much my grail watch. Want one in SS, one in 18k!
Do you have any info about the 168.025, about to buy one but don’t know alot about that model. Have google alot but can’t find anything.

I've a watch very similar to one shown, only difference being it is day and date and the one featured is date only.

I had no idea they made jumbo Constellations in the 60's. I'd absolutely love one. Can anyone tell me if the jumbo case was thicker as well as wider?
Only wider, thickness is relatively the same as the movement has changed.

The modern retail watch business is more difficult by the day. But the demand for a watchmaker is higher than ever.
What is the best tool to remove the bezel for Omega shape constellation?
There is a tool like the one used to remove a Rolex bezel. But I normally just remove any bezel with my Omega "Bergeon type" case opening knife.
