- One correction: I misspoke when I said the weather prediction for March and April was  44 Celsius. What I meant to say was 34 Celsius. 
Before Gift & I went to spend a night in Hua Hin, we had a scheduled water outage in our village. Unfortunately, when the water came back on we had a problem and had to call a technician.

Hi Joe...hope the bird repelent works. I resorted to putting plastic snakes on my AC units to keep the pigeons away! So far, they have not been back. A lot of pigeons up here in Suphanburi...haha

Thought be cheaper for the tint ,labor being cheaper but there many grades of tint ,and good tint will last and take the heat ' keep us updated thanks

Must be the Rolls Royce version of tint as the price seemed high and will take 30 years to recoup the cost in energy savings perhaps! It's a bit like folk who get solar panels which also take at least 20 years to break even.
For us, it's more about privacy and keeping the hot sun from reflecting in, than it is about energy savings. Also, if we decide to add solar, it would be for us to have electricity in the event of any long term power outage, while reaping the benefits from any energy cost savings. Definitely not for everyone or in everyone's budget.
@@thaigirlgiftforeignerjoe7774 I'm not having a go at you, just my observations:-) tint will definitely be nice to have and solar panels will be useful in areas with patchy electricity network so I say go for it!

Whe you built the house, was there a discussion for tint on the windows from the supplier?
No because at that time, I did not think that I wanted tint.

They only cover the pump for 5 years the pressure switch only has a 1 year warranty.

Hello Joe and Gift, initially I thought the quote for the tint was a bit High, but you did say it was for ALL the windows so not so bad. I just got a quote here to replace the guttering with new technology PVC-type guttering for $5,000.00 😥. Great video I like the look of the schnitzel 😋😋😋 10 / 10 Keep Well, Stay Safe my friends.
It is for all the windows and doors and we got the highest quality.
555 on the needed receipt...that's life. UV tint is a great idea. Everything is minor...no sweat. My wife likes pizza too...covered with ketchup...yuk! Yep, 500 Baht is generous for the labor on that repair. It's good to be generous with the locals, especially those in the trades. Plus, I just like helping them out a little above and beyond their usual expectations.

Hi, how much was your price for the window tinting? It sounded high.
We are purchasing the highest quality UV Tint as there are many options to choose from. The tint we choose has a 10 year warranty. Our 4 doors alone will require between 6-8 meters of tint each. We also have 8 large windows. We did our homework and compared prices and the quote we received is the average price.

$14 USD which includes window cleaning, tint and installation. US average price is $50 SQM.
Building shop out of wood. I think Jkj uses concrete and steel. The old method of wood is my preference. I wish you could see it. Three floors 300 sq meters using hardwood.
Teak wood is very expensive but if one can afford it, I’m sure it can be built.

Joe obviously the price for the tint throughout the house is a great deal ,but depending on its longevity and durability would it not be better for me to buy tinted windows and doors at a higher cost to be installed with a permanent durability when Ta and I build our house ? If you could ask JJ about the cost effectiveness of a " midrange UV quality permanent tinted glass" as opposed to Highest quality tint which has to be replaced every now and then ! I think your solution is obviously feasible but JJ would know what is the most economical in the long run ! 🤔 I'm sure you've done some research on this before you had the installers come to your house but maybe JJ through his experience in home construction could answer these questions for us " the Joe and Gift " fan club 😅. Seriously it would help me (us)a lot who plan to move/build in Thailand to get the onsite experience and info from you guys! Obviously this saves us time and $$ when preparing for when the construction phase begins. As always you've been a big help with information and we're gratefull , Thanks bruh !
We did buy the highest quality which has a minimum of ten years before having to be replaced. I believe to purchase UV tinted glass is extremely expensive but I will ask the gentleman that installed our windows.

I’ve always wondered if Thai eateries ever use available water buffalo for beef supply or is it always Australian beef.
Most Thai restaurants don’t serve beef and if they do it is more than likely Thai beef unless specified on the menu. Most restaurants that cater to foreigners serve Australian or New Zealand beef and in some cases US beef. It will always say on the menu which beef is available.

Traditional Pizza’s use tomato sauce or tomato paste as a base before the layers. It’s not unusual to dab more on the top of an Hawaiian pizza or similar..
Gift eats chilly and other godforsaken Thai food but you’re repulsed at tomato sauce ? Seafood on a pizza, now that’s something I don’t quite understand and cannot stomach.
Onto the window tint - ever think of using car tint ? It’s UV protected and a heck of a lot cheaper than what you’ve been quoted.. 200baht a window about the right price.
Re: labor cost - just remember, industrial labor laws for Thailand have wages to be officially 500baht a DAY but don’t expect any local to pay another Thai that, moreso 300baht.m per day. For the most part, they’re untrained and unqualified so you just may be disadvantaging the next foreigner with a higher than average bill because you paid them far more than their actual worth for the job.
These sorts of repairs are something you should be doing as there will come a time others won’t be able to bail you out and you’ll be stuck as you wait for someone to come sort out easy fixes. Pump repairs are easy that take little to know expertise in resolving issues or swapping a switch out.

44 Celsius equals about 111 Fahrenheit. That will be brutal with the Thailand humidity. I think I'll save my trip back until closer till fall. Take care.

@@thaigirlgiftforeignerjoe7774 That sounds much better, 111 and 100% humidity would be deadly. The window film will definitely be more comfortable and preserve the interior items from the sun. Many people just use blackout curtains but that feels so closed in. Take care.
