Oil pressure is the lifeblood of any engine. The last thing you want to do is run your vehicle while oil pressure is low. Even if the oil is at the appropriate level, low pressure situations can still occur! This video shows you how to install a new oil pressure sensor on your 2000-2006 Chevy Tahoe.

For some people it’s showing how to take apart other stuff cause they probably never work on their trucks so it’s a good vid thanks for making this videos

Real "CRAZY" taking all that apart, crazy

    • @2009adtommy
      @2009adtommy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

What is even crazier is that he didn't replace the knock sensors and harness(notorious for loosing their grounding and there is a bulletin out on replacing these) or the valley pan gasket while he was in there and no mention of it either. But the video is good to watch nevertheless. These guys are by the book and I always glean info from them. I am glad they continue.

Following the steps made getting to the sensor easier for me than trying to get my hand back behind the manifold. As others say it's easy to get behind the manifold after disconnecting the fuel line and other hoses, I found it easier to just follow your steps and get the job done. Thanks!

I’ve seen three videos on this job and this is by far the most complex.
But like someone said, maybe it helped someone with another job.

So unnecessary to remove all of that. Disconnect the pressure side fuel line at the back of the intake then you can access it fairly easily with a wobble and 12 inch extension. Literally a 10-15 minute job.

2005 GMC sierra 1500, 5.3L LM7, vin-T. does my truck have a filter screen under the oil pressure sending unit? My pressure is at 40 when cold, and drops to 20 when hot. it only climbs when accelerating. the sending unit is new. we don't know if it has a filter under it.

No filter on your truck, i believe GM didn't start until 2007.

Keep looking there is a better way to do this. I used my USB camera to see behind the engine. It is way easier than all this.

if you are doing all of these (no need) , change the intake gasket, knock srnsors and hardware, oil sensor, and the other sensor by the oil sensor, and why not, the fuel injectors, i did all of these in my 005 tahoe . make all of these removing hastle worth it !!

Done this one a couple times. 90% of this video is not needed unless you have huge hands. This videonis from a parts retailer. I think they're just trying to sell you more parts. Great forbreference and illustration though.
Just feel around the back between the engine and firewall, use the 6-point 1-1/16" or a 27mm with a 6" extension right over top and a flex head ratchet and get'er done. Do be carefull about dropping your old sensor or cross threading, etc.
Yes everything you disconnect might makenit easier, but just focus on the fuel rail and purge valve return line right next to the back corner where you're working , not all the reat of that junk. No reason to risk damage, loss, time, fiddling with perfectly good parts, etc when none of it needs touched.

All this job ,all this work is totally unnecessary unless You are the repair shop that needs hours for their techs and mechanics so they can charge 2 1/2 hours labor without caring for customers. It takes me 15 minutes to replace this sensor. The only thing I remove from the vehicle is the engine top cover ,piece of plastic. All You need is 27 mm socket, 6" extension and the ratchet ,you are done in 15 minutes ,You do have to push your hand through ,behind or between fuel line and purge valve hose but no big deal.
    Easy job.

Ya the video is 20 min. But they edit out all the cussing and swearing and time to make it look easy. Count how many times the video stops and starts again. It takes a lot longer than 20 min. I know from expirience.

Dont have to do all that its a 10-15 minute job if all you're doing is changing oil sender
