Been using this for 3 months now, the regular FE with 8gb ram, got it as a replacement to my broken mobile studio pro for portable use, and has been loving it ever since. I use clip studio and it can smoothly run my fullsized projects with has a couple hundred layers, feeling just as responsive as my main desktop. Which is frankly kinda impressive.
As beautiful as OLEDs look, one important thing to keep in mind about them is PWM, which can trigger headaches and migraines in people. Having good LCD options is still very much a necessity until OLEDs flicker issues are properly fixed. LCD panels have also improved and can be incredible quality too. I have a legion pro laptop and a legion go, and the LCD panels are so beautiful, even if the colours lack the same punch as OLED panels. Just something to be mindful of!
@@ljacobs357 noticed this too - some mobile games also have bright flashing lights and I noticed after-images hours later. Deleted those games now but my S8 was actually on the lowest brightness setting too.
Thanks Brad. The G Tab S9 FE 4 me is a good secondary device when I am on the Go. It is a hassle to breakout my Laptop, this device is smaller & easier to get to when I am on Public Transportation. I can check Email, edit a Document & Spreadsheet.
Thought it would be worth thowing in to the discussion, I'm still using a Samsung Tab S6 Lite (8:36) and it is still working great with krita/clip studio paint and multitasking with splitscreen. Still not noticed it slow down!
Excuse me, a question. How many layers and what size to have when you finish a drawing? I'm worried that it will slow down a lot when moving 4k files with 60 or 80 layers (50-150mb)?
@@kemonokawaii7380I'm still using my 6 year old tab s4 with clip studio and it performs well with A3 or A2 size canvases at 600 or 300 dpi and about 60 layers...But sometimes at A2 size and 600dpi you feel that you're pushing it to it's limit so I would recommend to check the main S8 or S9 series if you want to create big files!!!
@@kemonokawaii7380probably kinda late(?) But ive been using s6 lite (the second to last model i believe, though the stepup isnt as big since it still has 4gigs of RAM ) and it's not as good tbh... i got it just to sketch a bit, but slowly realized i can paint more since the hussle is just too much to move files in CSP and infinite painter and as far as it doesn't lag necessarily... it will just straight up crash working on canvases around 3kx3k with around 10 layers if working with textures... sketching and all is fine, but working on an actual illustration makes it slow down just before it just crashes
Just to chip in. I am still rocking the s6 lite 2020 and after an average of 350 days a year of use, for well over 3.5 years, this one is starting to slow down just a bit. It's actually most noticable at start-up and how long apps need to load up now. But all of that I could live with. it's the buren in that starts after less than 10s of smth light on screen (and that we no longer get updates on the 2020) that pushed me to get me an upgrade. Went with the s9 FE+ instead of the 6 lite 2024 due to the bigger screen :) But man I gotta say, the s6 lite live is a frigging BEAST at it's price point.
I bought one about a month ago (partially on your recommendation - thanks!) and I love it. I honestly don't use it much for non-drawing purposes, so I can't speak for that, but after trying a few apps, I liked Infinite Painter, paid for the full version, and everythings fantastic. As someone just getting started with digital art from traditional, I found the transition waaaay better than my brief attempts with unscreened drawing tablets, which I just couldn't get used to. My only (v small) complaint would be that drawing does seem to drain the battery faster than I'd expected, but since I tend to get into the zone and draw for many hours in a row, it's not really a problem to have to give it a charge every night to top it up. Still, 10/10 would recommend!
@@devyajain9238 Not home rn, don't have it with me- is that the update they just did? If so, I haven't noticed, but I haven't used it a ton this week. If I notice anything I'll try and remember to get back to you.
@@papagooseonline Hey, sorry, forgot about this. So on average I'd say I lose about 15% an hour. I don't typically draw on 100% brightness (say... 60-70%ish give or take.) I wouldn't say it's impressive on the battery front, but it does do the trick for me ;)
S6 lite for the price is better than this one for drawing, what do u think o the investment worth? Also I know that is 2023 version and 2024 , u know the difference?
@lauracamilahernandez1636 hey if you are planning to buy an Android tablet...I would say go with the S8 Plus...it is a year old you'll get great discounts and would last you easily 5 years...I have a Samsung tablet and it's got an OLED display which truly is leagues above any sort of LCD panel.
lol, I'm watching this video on the S6 Lite. My only issue with mine is that I bought the 64GB one cuz that's all there was and I needed it in a pinch! Now I'm looking around for an S7/8 with a min of 128GB.
I bought my Tab S9 FE at the same time as I bought my S23 FE (it was time to upgrade my phone and tablet so I got it out the way while both were having good sales) I'm extremely happy with both a few months in. The Tab S9 FE will probably slow down in a few years time at most but that's probably when I'll upgrade anyway and as of right now I love the display (it may not be OLED but it is an EXCEPTIONAL LCD displa), the speakers sound great despite not being quad, it runs everything I need to quickly and of course the S-Pen is still amazing.
I just got the FE+ a month or two ago and I friggen love it! I bought a Creator Edition Pen to go with it, and... I had the same issue Mr. Colbow had where the pen would register an input before it even hit the screen. That really frustrated me, lol. After trying a bunch of "fixes" I read around the internet, I just let it sit overnight and...it actually worked fine, then! I LOVE drawing with this thing now, which is strange since I think I still prefer drawing on an old Intuos rather than a screen, but it just feels good! Infinite Painter for 10 bucks/one-time payment is really nice, too. I really don't like the regular S-pen with the rubber tip. I just could NOT get used to it when messing with one on my old S6 lite.
May I ask which drawing app you are using? I just got an FE+ a week ago too and I am still new to digital artworking and bouncing between Krita and Sketchbook...
Hey, which configuration should i go for, 8GB ram one or 12 GB ram one? Coz price difference between both of these is a lot compared to some other brands out there.
@shreyaskhobragade8501 Well, it really depends on what you want to use the tab for. If you only do notetaking 8GB is more than enough. Even if you only use it for media consumption or drawing 8GB is totally fine. If you like multitasking 12 GB can be nice, but it's definitely not needed. Atleast that's my experience ^^
I bought some replacement nibs for the S pen that is made of solid plastic, i also couldnt stand the default gel tips, its quite easy to pluck them out and shove replacement ones in, just needs a bit of force
Me and the wife always look at new product releases as an opportunity to get a discount on the current/previous year models especially the high end version. So we went with a great Black Friday special on the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra (256gb) this past year for the same price as the base S9
I just picked up an S9FE a week ago and already it's having a markedly positive effect on my workflow. As someone who's clocked in on Wacom tablets since the Intuos 2 I have to say I'm really pleased with my first S-Pen experience, I also find it markedly better feeling than the Apple pencil to draw and paint with. Thanks for putting out your original review, definitely helped me pull the trigger!
@@lucy-jt3fu yes, and in some apps like Concepts you can set it so only the S-Pen makes marks on the canvas while multitouch only does zoom/pan/button presses.
@@kabii_art no issues, it lives inside a nillkin book cover style case and is well protected. Still very happy with it and it's basically paid for itself with the ability to take notes and do in-person presentations for my work.
I was on edge between saving a bit longer for S9+ or buying the S9 FE+ immediately to replace my S6 Lite (2020 ver) -- your video made me decide to go with the latter. I have the S9 FE+ 12gb/256gb now -- have to say it still really packs a punch despite being the "budget" version and I'm very happy about it. I draw as hobby using CSP EX, but I generally use huge canvas altogether and I occasionally draw comics for practicing, and it's been running smoothly in my Tab for the most part. :D
@@AlexTraynor-xk7hs mostly yes, if at least because S9 FE+ inherently has larger storage space and RAM. I use CSP EX, and from my experience, some functionalities were slow af while using S6 Lite (the most glaring for me being loading and importing textured brush can take forever to the point of triggering ANR, and I couldn't open comic workfiles with a lot of pages). Not to say S9 FE+ is perfect, but it's much of an improvement of experience. Loading and importing brushes are much quicker and do not cause the app to slow down for the most part. There are still slowdowns and lag, especially when using a lot of 3D models in larger canvas, but nowhere as severe as it was while I was using S6 Lite. I do light gaming too (Another Eden, Limbus Company, SaGa Scarlet Grace, Ex Astris, Love&Deepspace), and overall S9 FE+ is pleasant experience. I used to be unable to do battles in Limbus at all on S6 Lite (I'm cross-playing with PC version), and for AE I had to turn on the eco-mode (in-game mode that reduces visual effects and framerate to save battery) to prevent ANR. It no longer is the case with my S9 FE+. It can run Ex Astris no problem even at highest graphics setting. If there's one downgrade that I feel, though, is that for whatever reason my S9 FE+ doesn't always register my finger gestures even with sensitivity enhanced. I noticed that often times when using redo gesture (3-finger tap), it registers only 2 fingers (undo) even when I try to tap with more force. Another reddit user I talked to apparently encounters similar case, but I'm not sure whether this is isolated or not. It's annoying, but otherwise mitigable.
Have you had some jittering when switching apps or opening the multitasking view? Seems to happen on mine, everything runs smoothly but it's just that part that suffers
I’m a tattoo artist. I use a iPad Pro as a daily driver for art. But I still rock my tab S6 lite as media consumption and travel sketch book. It does exactly what I need it to.
I agree. I'm a retired Animation Director. I always use my Ipad Pro for all my Illustration works now, since it has the best Apps and Apple pencil. However, I still carry my Samsung S4 tablet. It's the better all-arounder. Better for Media playing, sound and picture with that Amoled display. Better for browsing. Very good drawing tablet.

@@starblissgames The screen it's a pretty solid LCD, not amazing features but pretty good image quality, and the format alone makes it far better for watching content than even the most expensive ipad.
I have been using (and writing this comment on) the tab s6 lite 2020 for well over 3.5 years. It burns in within 5 seconds now and it is struggling at start-up. Not all that weird, seeing as I've been using this tab for an average of 350 days a year, for all my notes , art, movies etc. I ordered the tab s9 FE+ yesterday and I am really exited!
@ChristodiaOppong dude I've had it for a full week now and I think I'm in love! It's bigger than my old one, went for the + model for this purpose. The screen quality is either the same or even better, hard to tell since my old one is dying (so not true to it's old quality anymore). It's definitely faster and snappier than my s6 lite 2020 ever has been, can handle minutes upon minutes of animation (as in, the file being like 10+ minutes) without lag. Sound is just.. whoa. Like I have the Galaxy s23+ phone and I gotta say...... the sound on this Tab s9FE+ is better. Deffenitly a good deal if you can find it for around 580 euros like I did (and I got the slim keyboard cover for free with it, I think that deal is still going on at Samsung website)
@hezvandermeij Thank you so much! I've been watching videos about it for the past week and this is what sold me because my s6 lite was really starting to lag so I need a new one asap😂
@@ChristodiaOppong Oh yea especialy the 2020 model after years of use lol. I really think this is the best you can get on this (quite large-ish still) budget. I at least have zero regrets!
Hey Brad, thanks for the revisit, I'm currently looking into a tablet for drawing and if you had a choice between this FE and the XPPen Magicdrawing pad which would you get?
@@kickskiiThanks for that, unfortunately in my country the s8 is almost the same price as the S9 so not an option, it really is between the S9FE+ and the Magic Drawing Pad
@@marcelduvenage3289the magic drawing pad will give you a more "drawing" dedicated experience, with the pressure sensitivity and all the drawing specific features it offers, where the tab is going to give you a more versatile experience and not so much dedicated towards drawing features, so it's really more about your personal needs and wants, if you are just needing something to dedicate towards your drawing than the magic pad will be best but if you want something you'll be able to do everything on and have your basic s pen features and can make do with that for your drawing needs, your just basically trading off a little more drawing specific features forgetting to stream email web browse play games wtv and draw...hope that helps and didn't confuse ya more lol
Thanks for this updated review. I just bought one on the Amazon Prime Day Sale for $440.00. You can't beat the price for any Samsung tablet for under $450.00 including the 5G version which is what I bought. Nobody mentions in thier video that if you want 5G included you don't get to pick and which models you want for the size you want. Samsung has just one other 5G tablet it's the Galaxy Tab S9+ with a 12.4" display for $1150.00. I just want a 11" avergage notebook screen size. A tablet sceeen bigger than 6.8" LG V60 phone. So I have the LG G Tab X 10.1" with 4G LTE from 2016. It's Andriod Marshmellow and not supported by Google anymore. Tapping any app is so sluggish it can take multiple taps and like over 5 seconds for the app to respond to open up. So any tablet made in 2023 with with the slowest proceessor with the lowest RAM which should be at least a 6 gigs is way faster than my old G tab.
Finally just ordered one. My Lenovo Tab 11 Plus is still running great, but only has 4GB and with larger drawings I can notice the slowdown. I've looked at the newer Lenovo P12 or P11 Pro Gen2, but they've changed the pens from AES2 to MPP2 protocol and I really don't want those. They've got wobble. It's a step down. An older TAB S7 or S8 could be an option, but since the S9 FE with 8GB memory and 256GB storage was on sale at one store for less than a used/refurbished older model, I decided to go the S9 FE. Just ordered it on Brad's recommendation 🙂 For me the pen is more important than the cpu/gpu. I don't have an issue with a TFT screen, my current one has it too and it's beautiful. Can't wait until it arrives.
@@laurajuajinoy6981 It's been perfect for me. The pen is great, the tablet is working fast enough with everything I've tried. Sketchbook and Clip Studio Paint work very well on it. I't bright enough to work outside in the sun too, I've been doing some sketches with it outdoors.
@@Leeeep I know, there are very view reviews, I don't think they sponsor reviews like Apple and Samsung do or sent out review units. I really enjoyed my Tab 11 Plus and if it wasn't for the lack of memory I still would have it. The Samsung deal was just good and I'm really happy with the S9 FE. It suits me. If I ever have to upgrade I will still look to new Lenove devices to see if they've gone back to better pens than the current generation. That won't be for a while though, since the 8Gb of memory and 256Gb of storage in the store allowed me to finish my 5000x2000 pixels project with over 100 layers in Clip Studio Paint without a problem.
Ive been using this tab for 6 months too. If you arent a competitive player, dont eally want the biggest screen just enough to fit in your hands, use samsung notes amd s pen for school amd work, i can say this tablet is perfect for me
Got the smaller version few months and it's an absolute banger. I mainly use it for drawing and as a second monitor. Also got Notepaper cover for christmas and it feels wonderful with hard plastic s-pen tips
The real differentiator between oled and lcd is burn in! As an artist you do not want burned inprints on top of your artwork, making it difficult to see where and what you're drawing.
Got this tab, bumped up the storage, it is now my daily driver. Using the slim keyboard. For what I do I love the battery life, the productivity, and the speed. Does what I need and does it well. Great review.
You came in at JUST the right time, Brad! Can you perhaps compare its performance to the xiaomi pad 6? I've been contemplating between these two for days now.
Ugh same!! I just need someone to review them side by side and actually say which one they prefer more. Other reviews didn't really help me since they just say choose whatever you prefer
Xiaomi pad 6 has a slight wobble with its pen and S-pen doesn't have. Though pad 6 is still good, my friends use their art with pad 6. If you're on budget go for pad 6 but if you want to get more features go for samsung. Also take in mind pad 6 only uses their gen2 pen and overtime they will discontinue some of the products while samsung is compatible with lots of pen (I recommend staedtler if you're not gonna use spen) and you can replace different types of nibs depending on what you like while gen2 from xiaomi doesn't
Just bought one today! It was at an All Time Low so I had to indulge! Only thing that seems hard to find for me (in Canada) is good screen protector for drawing. Any recommendation?
After trying the tab s9 and the s10, as well as the ipad in tech stores over the last few weeks, the s pen seems SIGNIFICANTLY worse than the apple pencil, even though I prefer the galaxy tab otherwise and really dislike i(Pad)OS even though I use macOS daily I don't know why my experience was so different from Brad's, but here's what I've noticed, if anyone is interested: The palm rejection works in a bit of an odd way on the Samsung devices - Whenever you move the pen close enough to the screen for it's position to be detected (when you can see that little circle), any and all touch input on the screen is disabled until you lift the pen again. This makes it effectively impossible to hold down the side shortcuts in clip studio to e.g. make a straight line or constrain the aspect ratio of a circle. Luckily you can set those shortcuts to toggle instead of holding them down or connect a bluetooth keyboard. But any action where you would use your finger and the pen at the same time, or even using a menu while you're still hovering over the screen, is impossible. This is _almost_ a disqualifying factor in my eyes, but depends on your usecase. The Apple Pencil does not have that issue, as well as being usable at shallower angles. Over all the Apple Pencil just felt better and more well-rounded when trying it out, epecially with it's weight and the haptic feedback. But it's also a 150€ addon to an already relatively expensive tablet. I tried it again after a while and the difference between the Samsung tablet and the ipad in terms of tilt is way more noticable to me now. The pen doesn't respond at all, if you use it at any angle past maybe 40 degrees off perpendicular, which makes it significantly more frustrating to use for both writing and drawing. The S10s the store had on display didn't have that issue. The store employee I asked said that that's the intended functionality for the S9 series - I'm not sure if I buy that though, because that seems like a significant enough issue that I can't imagine no reviewer mentioning it… One major benefit of any android tablet over an iPad in my eyes is having what I would consider a "real" filesystem where I can work with folders like on a dektop OS and granting Apps limited storage access where applicable instead of having apps siloed to the extent they are on Apple and giving each app it's own storage. As someone who would also read and annotate documents on a tablet, as well as moving around files quite a bit, this is very important to me. microSD is a huge bonus, too, of course. The iPad definitely seems like its ecosystem of apps is a lot more refined though. On the other hand I personally really like that Android feels so much closer to the level of control you have on a desktop OS, even after it became increasingly locked down in recent years. Idk, I just wanted to throw my thoughts out into the world, maybe they're useful to someone else.
I have the Tab S9 but bought my wife the Tab S9 FE. It is a great value and has the festures most people want. The display is quite good, and I find it has less eye strain than the OLED on the S9. No video out is a limitation, but the processor speed is good enough. We looked at the Tab S8, but the keyboards for the Tab S9 also work on the Tab S9 FE. We traded in the Tab S 6 Lite for the Tab S9 FE, and find the Tab S9 FE much better and faster.
Thanks Brad for the follow up! This tablet is perfect for me as in its price and also because I have a Samsung "eco system". I want to point out that my 4 years old A51 is still working perfectly fine with my younger sibling and it only got better and faster with each software update (except the battery) so I can confidentaly say from my experience that this tablet is gonna rock for years to come.
So, can you use the S9 Fe as a second screen for a Windows laptop with a cable? I know it's possible wirelessly, but I am writing a lot of notes, and I don't want to have a problem with lag. However, I also want to have all my data on one device.
I really like your view and takes on things. As someone who does art on traditional pencil and paper and wants to get into digital art, your outlook on the tech you review is very different than any other tech reviewer. I think your reviews arent just beneficial to artists but to the everyday user aswell. Other tech reviewer just give you the specs on things and some might give you tips/tricks but youre giving your honest review of how you use it. Not only that but you also recommend tech thats considered outdated that every other tech reviewer on TH-cam completely ignore and would consider obsolete
The screen on the Tab 9 FE 10.9 is excellent. It looks a bit brighter than my S8 11 Tablet. The dual speaker have better sound than the S8. I am so surprised.
Great take on this! I’m a bit late to the party here. This video is 7 months old! But I’m thinking about picking up two of these, one for each of my 8 and 9 yr old daughters for Christmas! On the fence between these or a couple of 2022 S6 lites.
After some research, I've decided that Samsung Tab S9 FE+ will be a great device for me. I'm an art student who occasionaly draw digitally for fun, but I think this will be a great tool for portability. Don't want to carry my heavy laptop with Huion tablet to class everyday, yknow? I really dig the screen real estate at 12.4 inches. Kinda bummed that they only use exynos chipset but beggars can't be choosers. And the main line S series is way too expensive for me so this is a great compromise
I still use an S8+ and it' pretty much my daily driver in everything but writing code (Android still lacks a good code editor although that may change with Googles Project IDX... if they ever get that running that is) and honestly... I'll probably keep using it for awhile yet unless the S10 has something so compelling that it can't be ignored. Samsung makes good tablets.
I love watching your videos! I've been looking for a good portable drawing tablet that doesn't break the bank, and this one really caught my eye. I ended up buying it this morning, and I'm so excited to do more digital art with it! I definitely want to get your art courses next. I'm also really interested in those art books you showed off. Thanks for making such incredible videos!
If I were to use this for journaling, maybe some light games would this be a good option and future proof? I like it for the pen feature that I can draw and such.
the only complaint I have about tabs s9 fe is that stylus is tracked a little lower than you place it, so it's something to get used to/ edit: also the pen is a little too small for me, but it's just my thing
As far as a mid-ranged tablet goes, so far this is doing everything I want and more. I was able to get it with the slim keyboard included (as well as on sale and other discounts applied) for around $700CAN (the 12GB model). The slim keyboard cover doesn't have a trackpad, but that's fine, because I dislike trackpads (might as well just use the touchscreen) and got myself a compact bluetooth mouse to pair with it. It more or less doubles as a laptop as a result, good enough for all my writing/editing/drawing needs.
Hi Brad, is there a difference in performance between the normal FE and the FE plus for artwork? In procreate on the ipad your layer number is a direct correlation to the Ipad performance, is there anything similar to that on these Galaxy tabs? I'm looking to move from an ancient Ipad Pro to one of these, thanks for all your videos!
@PeterMatthess Yes, there are differences. S9 Fe 128Gb - 6Gb RAM S9 Fe 256Gb - 8Gb RAM S9 Fe Plus 128Gb - 8Gb RAM S9 Fe Plus 256Gb - 12Gb RAM They are all sharing the same cpu/gpu, so they are all equally fast, but the work memory (RAM) differs. Technically, the more RAM, the larger size canvas you can work in and the more layers you can have. If the application imposes those limits like Procreate does. Not all applications do, but still I personally wouldn't buy the 128Gb model such limits are a concern. I've got the S9 Fe with 256Gb - 8Gb RAM and I'm very happy with it. I opted for the smaller screen, it's just easier to take with me everywhere. My work is done mainly in Clip Studio Paint and the latest artwork I finished is 7400x2000 pixels, has over 100 layers, is very detailed and the tablet handled it just fine. I had a Lenovo with 4Gb RAM and it was struggling with the larger sizes. I d o have an iPad Pro 12.9 M1 512Gb, but I just can't get used to all the limitations of iPadOS and the shortcomings of Procreate. Gave it to my wife and went back to Android and a smaller screen size. While technically the iPad is infinitely more powerful in day to day use and drawing I don't notice it at all. The S9 Fe is very responsive and I definitely prefer the s-pen.
Hi, Thank forr all videos they are full with good info. I just bought my s9 Fe + but im having truble to decide which screen protector i should choose. I search in your channel but couldnt find one new. Thank you.
Does the USB-2 problem mean that it can still work with SuperDisplay, Spacedesk or similar options? Because that's a huge sticking point for me, and the full S9 is massively more expensive where I live.
@@sahiru It's an absolute shame how on a tablet this expensive and feature rich, they somehow are using a USB standard from literally twenty four years ago. One of the biggest draws for me was using SuperDisplay without lag, but I guess I will have to get a Wacom after all.

If you meant the S6 lite though - yeah that would be stupid. EDIT: Woops my bad - you said lite. Yeah that's insane.

@@kemonokawaii7380 someone in the comments said it runs smoothly even with a hundred layers
Went with the s9 FE+ instead of the 6 lite 2024 due to the bigger screen :)
But man I gotta say, the s6 lite live is a frigging BEAST at it's price point.
Did the update to One UI 6 start to drain the battery??
@@devyajain9238 Not home rn, don't have it with me- is that the update they just did? If so, I haven't noticed, but I haven't used it a ton this week. If I notice anything I'll try and remember to get back to you.
@@devyajain9238 No, in my case, the battery drains as before the update.
Hey how long would the battery last when you'd draw?
@@papagooseonline Hey, sorry, forgot about this. So on average I'd say I lose about 15% an hour. I don't typically draw on 100% brightness (say... 60-70%ish give or take.) I wouldn't say it's impressive on the battery front, but it does do the trick for me ;)
I do agree with Brad on the screens. A 10 inch Tab S8 (that I own) had a LCD display and it's a really good panel imo.
Using S6lite - 1st version (2020 model)... Working great
Does my job- take notes, reading books
And occasionally media consumption.
Hey, Are you using the penly app for notes?
I bought my Tab S9 FE at the same time as I bought my S23 FE (it was time to upgrade my phone and tablet so I got it out the way while both were having good sales)
I'm extremely happy with both a few months in.

Hello. I'm interested in using it for prints. Can this tablet handle a large resolution, like 24x36 300 dpi?
Me and the wife always look at new product releases as an opportunity to get a discount on the current/previous year models especially the high end version. So we went with a great Black Friday special on the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra (256gb) this past year for the same price as the base S9
that's very nice
I just picked up an S9FE a week ago and already it's having a markedly positive effect on my workflow. As someone who's clocked in on Wacom tablets since the Intuos 2 I have to say I'm really pleased with my first S-Pen experience, I also find it markedly better feeling than the Apple pencil to draw and paint with.
Thanks for putting out your original review, definitely helped me pull the trigger!
it has the palm rejection?
@@lucy-jt3fu yes, and in some apps like Concepts you can set it so only the S-Pen makes marks on the canvas while multitouch only does zoom/pan/button presses.

Ahh me too. I was thinking maybe i should get the regular S9+ series. But S9 FE+ i guess its good enough
Is there a significant difference in performance in performance and functionality between the s9 fe and the s6 lite?
@claepacitor I see. Thanks for the well detailed explanation!

Hello, nice video, what software do you use to draw? I use the 7 Fe and still be happy with it.
So I have the LG G Tab X 10.1"
with 4G LTE from 2016.
Got the FE and I reach for it more often then my older 11inch iPad pro
Sir, what's the drawing app you are using?
2 months later but it's clip studio in simple mode
Hola como te ha ido con la tab s9fe?
@@laurajuajinoy6981 It's been perfect for me. The pen is great, the tablet is working fast enough with everything I've tried. Sketchbook and Clip Studio Paint work very well on it. I't bright enough to work outside in the sun too, I've been doing some sketches with it outdoors.
Thank you for mentioning Lenovo, I can't find any reviews pertaining to drawing with them
@@Leeeep I know, there are very view reviews, I don't think they sponsor reviews like Apple and Samsung do or sent out review units.

How is the battery life on this? I’m going to mainly use it for watching videos and not gaming at all
The real differentiator between oled and lcd is burn in! As an artist you do not want burned inprints on top of your artwork, making it difficult to see where and what you're drawing.
so which one is better?
Which app are you using for drawing?
The one used in the video is Clip Studio Paint
What is your favorite drawing app that you talked about in this video? Also, is it the same one that you drew the Halloween pumpkins?

hi, just wondering what price you got it for and which config, planning to pick it up as well...

Hir brad nice review. Ca you also include the new oneplus tab for your review?
After trying the tab s9 and the s10, as well as the ipad in tech stores over the last few weeks, the s pen seems SIGNIFICANTLY worse than the apple pencil, even though I prefer the galaxy tab otherwise and really dislike i(Pad)OS even though I use macOS daily
I don't know why my experience was so different from Brad's, but here's what I've noticed, if anyone is interested:
The palm rejection works in a bit of an odd way on the Samsung devices - Whenever you move the pen close enough to the screen for it's position to be detected (when you can see that little circle), any and all touch input on the screen is disabled until you lift the pen again.
The store employee I asked said that that's the intended functionality for the S9 series - I'm not sure if I buy that though, because that seems like a significant enough issue that I can't imagine no reviewer mentioning it…
One major benefit of any android tablet over an iPad in my eyes is having what I would consider a "real" filesystem where I can work with folders like on a dektop OS and granting Apps limited storage access where applicable instead of having apps siloed to the extent they are on Apple and giving each app it's own storage.
I Ordered the S9 FE because of your video! (from Best Buy 😄 - there was a sale) Thanks for sharing the features. 👍
Could you review Lenovo M11? Seems like a great budget tablet for drawing. 90Hz screen, pen included and only about 169€ where I live.
brad, as a person who worked in VFX.... your lighting is giving me anxiety about cleaning up green spill :)

Nice review. Is the S pen same for both S9 and S9 FE ? Same writing experience?
Hey Brad, which app are you using to draw? Btw love your videos!
So, can you use the S9 Fe as a second screen for a Windows laptop with a cable? I know it's possible wirelessly, but I am writing a lot of notes, and I don't want to have a problem with lag. However, I also want to have all my data on one device.
It doesn't with a cable, but you can connect it together when both devices are on the same Internet. I use it a lot for my coding
I really like your view and takes on things.

Hey Brad what was the drawing app you were using in this video ???
Hi Brad, is there a difference in performance between the normal FE and the FE plus for artwork? In procreate on the ipad your layer number is a direct correlation to the Ipad performance, is there anything similar to that on these Galaxy tabs? I'm looking to move from an ancient Ipad Pro to one of these, thanks for all your videos!
@PeterMatthess Yes, there are differences.
S9 Fe 128Gb - 6Gb RAM
S9 Fe 256Gb - 8Gb RAM
S9 Fe Plus 128Gb - 8Gb RAM
S9 Fe Plus 256Gb - 12Gb RAM
They are all sharing the same cpu/gpu, so they are all equally fast, but the work memory (RAM) differs.
Not that you will feel, atleast for artwork. For intense gaming you’ll see a difference but for artwork not at all!
do you use a screen protector? if so, which one do you recommend?
HI, What case are you using?
do not regret buying one. been using it daily with no issues. Even xbox gaming pass.
Hi, Thank forr all videos they are full with good info. I just bought my s9 Fe + but im having truble to decide which screen protector i should choose. I search in your channel but couldnt find one new. Thank you.
Is it suitable for professional car sketching ? Or i should go for huion kamvas pro 13 2.5k ??
Are Best Buy in the UK?
Good explanation. Thank you Brad.
Can someone please tell me what app he's drawing on in the beginning of the video?
Will you be reviewing the fold6 for digital drawing?
Which app you use to draw and take notes?
Does the USB-2 problem mean that it can still work with SuperDisplay, Spacedesk or similar options? Because that's a huge sticking point for me, and the full S9 is massively more expensive where I live.
Superdisplay doesnt work, but spacedesk do for sure, indeed it have a bit of latency but it works.
@@sahiru It's an absolute shame how on a tablet this expensive and feature rich, they somehow are using a USB standard from literally twenty four years ago. One of the biggest draws for me was using SuperDisplay without lag, but I guess I will have to get a Wacom after all.
What cell phone are you using in this video? Looks awesome. Awesome.
Bought this brand new for 290USD, good deal?
LCD screens can be good. I started buying the LG V series phones. They were awesome with the right set of headphones. I really had no complaints about the screens. It was things like slow updates and bug fixes that I hated.
I have Xiaomi pad 6 and it's pen 2, how much better is s9fe competitively?
Xiaomi pad 6 is much better
Xiaomi wins when we talk about budget, but samsung wins in overall performance. I have both tablet and trust me if you can afford the s9fe I highly recommend getting it over pad 6. But if budget is too tight pad6 is still a great choice
would you recommend it over a used tab s8
I was confused between this and xiaomi pad 6. But. I. Will go with this no one can beat samsung pen and my most use will be of the pen. Thanks for the review. U explained really well. Especially about the lcd
About to order one... As i want a standalone to practive painting on, not hooked up to my PC.
Question though;
Is the older S8 better than this S9FE?
In terms of using for the drawing pen and painting apps. Not bothered about oerformance for video edit or whatever else others use tsblets for.
Would appreciate anyone who could confirm or happened to own/used both.
Thanks
Would a normal Samsung galaxy plug work to charge the tablet or do you need a specific charger for it
Hello, can someone tell me what app he is using to draw?
Hey Brad between this and the xp pen magic tablet which do you prefer ? Thinking of getting one and would love your input
This is where I'm hung up as well. Did you choose one?
@@logan3576 I choose the xp pen tablet I realized the only significant difference was one was made for drawing and the other one you could draw on, not a huge difference but that was deciding factor since they're so close plus I used and trusted xp pens graphics pens before. Enjoying it so far haven't been a year yet tho
Man, I've been debating between getting the Samsung tab S9 FE or the Samsung S8/8 PLUS. However, it looks like the S8 Ultras are discontinued or are completely sold out atm.
If i hav to choosw between an S8 or the S9 FE, which should i choose?
Im try to decide if is better this one than the s6 lite version, maybe 2022 o 2024 but i dont know rha difference between that 2 opcions, also i know if is a better investment the s9 fe because im strating to ilustrate digital, i use an old huion so idk, you can help me to decide s9 fe , s6 lite 2022 or s6 2024 ? 😢😅
This or the baseline iPad 9 with the apple pencil 1... What do we think?
in our country lite s6 costs 430$ and s9 fe 460$ who the hell would buy the older one
Lmao ikr
AMOLED (for some reason people go nuts for it), headphone jack, lighter, and the S6 processor still holds up - it's not far off from the new exynos. Samsung knocked it out the park with the S6.
If you meant the S6 lite though - yeah that would be stupid.
EDIT: Woops my bad - you said lite. Yeah that's insane.
I like your comparison of the LCD vs. OLED debate.
Been looking at tablets for my note taking in meetings, events planning, menu design (cocktails) and general workflow. I looked at remarkable 2 but I can't justify the price as it's comparable to this S9FE on offer. Would anyone recommend the S9FE for such simple tasks?
Would you recommend this or the ipad 10th gen?
Would the FE+ be too large to be carried and used comfortably?
So you CAN use it as 2nd monitor and basically it function as a display drawing tablet then?
iPad 10th generation or Samsung s9+ fe which one is better for illustration or animation which one should I buy
What's the app he uses to draw? It's amazing!
Hello Brad!, can you do a review on the lenovo 12.7 xiaoxin pad pro? It would be nice to hear your thoughts on it as someone who uses tablets to draw digitally.
hey brad thanks for your prefect reviews, between this model and the ipad air 5th which one do you recommend for digital arts?
both are great options, just depends on your budget and your program of choice! most people go with ipads for procreate
Which one is better for studying, ipad10 or Samsung tabS9 fe?

Which one should i buy... 6 gb or 8gb

What drawing app are you using?
Which tablet should I buy for drawing s9 fe or ipad 10th gen?
What app/software are you using in FE
What would you recommend between this tablet and the Asus vivobook 13 slate with 8 GB or RAM and 256 GB storage?
