- Hello everyone! I’m sad to say that I wont be doing any Otr videos anymore and I just wanted to say it has been an experience staying out in the road for periods of time and I just had to move on to the next thing and figure out what I really want to do with my future plans.

Good luck brotha. I received my CLD about a little over a year ago. And you inspired me as well, anyway you always kept a positive attitude and never sugar coated it. Either way I'm sure whatever you choose in life you going to go far. And my advise keep your options open and never get comfortable with one job. Meaning get another trade skill, but keep that CDL in your back pocket. Take care and be safe...

Congratulations to you on the 2yrs!! I was unable to finish the OTR training to do the job my fault and bad communications. I work doing local work not making the big bucks like you over the road when you were ballin but things are a better fit but believe me I have had my struggles too!! Your videos were entertaining and calming!! Thank you and I don't think you should share your personal business, just like you didn't hit the political note you have the right to your life as an adult person. Keep up the good work and just know you have people rooting for you to do amazing things.

And honestly it consumes you. My baby boy is now 12 and hardly talks to me. Because I missed his most important years of growing up. And between us here it smashes my heart. Anyways got off trucking since September 4th. Now I see my son very happy when I pick him up at school. Just one last thing always take care of your CDL'S. STAY SAFE MY FRIEND, GOD SPEED

been watching videos for awhile now. i'm sure with your OTR experience, you'd have no problem getting a decent local job. see, i'm a local delivery driver for 17 months (beer and soda). never backed into a dock and never dropped/hooked a trailer. what i have is an empty experience that no employers want. i feel like i wasted my time and i'm about to give up my trucking career lol. it's just sad and frustrating. i already knew OTR wasn't for me from the start so i went for a local trucking job first, and now i realize i made a huge mistake getting into this. just this month alone i applied to 3 local companies, got 1 interview but turned down, other one got a no call back, and my last one sent me a no interview rejection email. 2 of my soda coworkers are doing well however, they are both making 90k a year now doing a food service and other one is hauling fuel. but me, i'm still stuck doing physically intensive labor for $20 an hour. just a bit of rant. if i could just start over, i would have done it differently. good luck on your new journey, i'll continue to watch your videos bc it's very soothing and informative as well.
I somehow missed this video but Congrats on your new car. My company has went under as well but I've already found another company to go with. Hauling dry van forklifts, they're still processing my application as speak should hear back tomorrow or Monday I'm ready to get rolling again.

I’m about to start a trucking job. I have learning disabilities so kinda struggling but I’m almost there. Also mad a stupid mistake but hopefully it doesn’t hurt my chance to get a trucking job lol.
Yr new Beemer is cool, I drive a 2016 Scion iA, she’s got some miles so I may replace it in the next few years.
Here’s my thoughts.

It sounds like $1,500 came out for fuel, and additional expenses.

I tell you what I started off local driving and I can’t stand stupid ppl on the road, when I went line haul in Alaska I love it was peaceful, now I’m in Arizona and a owner opt and been trucking for 16 years and I be with my family when ever I want due to I work when I wanna work, I work every other weekends and I head down to the Cali, Tx, FL, Co and back home, I can never go back to local or try anything else but good luck my friend!!!

Trucking is not for everyone. Especially the young drivers. That is why the industry is going down. There are more older drivers out. They been doing it for years. They are owner operators. Company drives do not make much. If you truly think of it. Trucking is the modern day slavery. You are stuck to your truck you drive 21 days to earn 3 days off. It is not just driving along. You have to deal with paperwork and inventory weight. The company push their drivers.

Great stuff. Question on your 1099. You mentioned that you pay half on fuel and insurance. Now do you get to claim your portion? The reason I’m asking is. I was in the same boat couple of years back and I wasn’t, since the truck owner required all fuel receipts to be turned in. Just curious.
I completely understand your decision. I worked for a carrier for almost 2 yrs out of Chicago. The money was great. But then the market dipped. I was barely clearing $700/$800 wkly. Turned in my truck late October. Been running for a carrier out of my hometown Houston. They haul flatbed. Only during the winter. Been running only Texas for the past month. Loads and fuel are very manageable.
I was ready to give up OTR. Till I found this carrier. Plus I buying the truck from an outside guy I give him 50% of my wkly net It’s been working out good so far.
If you enjoy driving. Don’t give it up. Just look for other avenues.

bro i only have class b and i drive a mixer. i dont make bank but im home everyday. i bring home $1200-1500 per week

@@chez8239 Mammoth Moving & Storage in Santa Barbara. It’s not a bad gig. I get to drive a lot of different set-ups. I was flatbedding in a day cab yesterday. Today I’m in a sprinter van in Bakersfield to Irvine and back to SB. Next week I’m taking the sleeper and 53’ to Tucson. Shitty part is when I have to help with a household pack, or receiving at the warehouse. But I do go home most days, and get to do trips about once a month. Still wanna get into fuel hauling though.

Bro these rates are really low, this 1099 thing ain't cool right now. I'm switching to tanker OTR next month, I got like 9 or 10 months left till I reach my 2 year mark. I'll probably just do a full year of OTR tanker, then find a local gig.

If you need a local job bro my job is hiring local drivers. Tons of overtime and most drivers here easily rack 6 figures a year. Located in east Los Angeles

Old trucks don't break down alot unless you treat like shit
@@moneyman1588 just like any vehicle they break down. With tractors it's usually after 700k miles when the first breakdowns happen

Possibly think about getting your hazmat/tanker endorsement. (it's not that hard) and doing tanker. Home every day and the money is 🤑💵💰.
i have tanker but no hazmat yet, its kind of hard to look local that does fuel because thats what i wanted to do in the first place
