Hey bro if you could go back would you rather choose prime or still go with swift ?
I know either one i decide on is a steping stone (get in and out) but i want the one that pays better right off as beginner.
Prime pays the most during training out of pretty much any of the mega carrier starter companies. Like 800-900 per week until you are on your own. From the research I've done they also pay more per mile and tend to not give you 3 Days to run 700 MI. I'm not sure how long you have to run with a trainer for Swift but for prime it's currently 30,000 miles which they say takes anywhere from two and a half months to 4 months.
@@chrisbafomb thanks for putting out info about prime! for swift I was getting paid 600-700$ take home, and training with mentor is only 200 hours which takes just a month to finish then you will be transferred to your own truck, you can also request more time with mentor if you need to feel more comfortable. I was getting paid 48cpm and when I left swift they tried to stop me and offered me 60cpm lol so quick tip try to scare them that the pay is too low and pretend your going to leave them lol they can literally raise up your pay and I hated them for that because the whole time I was with them they paid me the lowest when im reality they could have paid me 60cpm from the start -____-
@@chez8239 I read somewhere that prime starts at .47cpm otr 🤔 but dam 60cpm sounds good. if you dont mind me asking how much do you get paid at your new company? only 2 things i dont like of prime is there is no terminal in california and the 30,000 mile deal. Theres a swift terminal 2 hours away (lathrop ca) but i dont plan on coming home to often anyways which is why i want otr
Another thing is swift tuition is $8000 plus $750 housing someone told me prime is $4300
Im over thinking it i just dont want to say man i shouldve gone there instead 😂 which will probably happen at either one
@@itravel24 I think prime is better lol thats just my opinion and I get paid 50% of the load not by cpm and yea swift is wayyy over charging new drivers I wouldnt do 8k just got lucky when I went it was still 6k but still a lot smh!
@@itravel24 Go to Werner. They have a dollar tree account in Stockton. It pays good. 1500 a week average sometimes more sometimes less. I was on the Dollar tree account in San Bernadino and that's what I was making and I heard the Stockton guys were getting payed more than us. You'll be home almost daily. The Dollar Tree DC is in Stockton (Assuming you are near there). Even if you werent that's fine cuz a lot of the San Bernadino guys went out there. You'll make good money on that account way more than otr with any mega carrier. But it's hard work all hand unload. Werner has a bunch of other accounts and even if you don't like dollar tree Werner OTR still pays more than swift. I Don't work for Werner anymore I'm with Schneider doing local flatbed work In LA. But if I were to go OTR I'd work for CFI for a year then try and get into one of the union LTL companies like R&L Or Old Dominion or ABF.
