Damn, I wish we had more people like you, that avoids truck stops. I personally avoid everything else but the truckstops. Its always nice to get up in the morning, go get yourself a coffee, and some delicious junkfood, might even see a cutie behind a counter. In the rest area tho, you wake up and hopefully you dont gotta doo doo

Thought I’d get in here say a few as fellow family member of a DOT Officer man I’ve watched your video in that truck I honestly think you might want to look into another Gig man that truck is jacked up. And you don’t wanna ruin your license.
And I’m not hating or any of that man I just know it’s companies out here that will treat you great with great equipment you know
Chez, I live in WV. Before the Civil War WV was part of Virginia. But WV separated from Virginia at the time of the Civil War and went with the North while Virginia went with the South. Richmond Virginia was the capital of the south, during the war. I have a 1 year old dog named Nismo, after the car. My son had a 370 Z. I had a 2019 Subaru BRZ. It was a lot of fun to drive but a little down on power so now I have a 2020 Camaro SS, not down on power now. I would find me an accountant, that was reasonable and have them help me out on doing my taxes. Remember I'm the old retired trucker. Ask other truckers that live in Cali about what they have for health insurance. Later.

-I run my full 70 hours every week, once I dont have anymore hours then I do my 34 hour reset (time off) so just depends whenever I burn my hours no particular day’s are set
-no I go home after being in the road for 2 weeks and a half
-3 weeks and 1 week hometime is pretty cool but I only do that if I need to be home for occasion purposes
-company im at now is definitely better than swift

If you don’t go to trucks stops very much and sleep at rest stops, How do you take care of number 2 💩 on the road. Carry a bucket? Genuinely interested as someone with ibs lol

study for your permit test ! and the job itself is super easy just being away from your love ones such family is the hardest part of it lol and dont be afraid to make mistakes but to learn from it and dont make the same mistakes and you will progress about everything in trucking👍
Get on with a mega carrier AFTER you get your license. Then grind and get a year or two down. Then look for a better carrier that would pay you better. Or get you better runs and such

was wondering if you can go straight to a cdl school like swift without having anything like no dot physical.
at swift we still needed dot physical exam
You need a DOT Physical to even get a permit, you are subject to the DOT when you are doing anything in a commercial vehicle. My local truck school even sent me for a per test that they paid for.

How is it balancing your road life with your life at home? What motivates you to keep this lifestyle going?
to be honest, its never going to be easy being away from loved ones, but I always think of my self as I need to work hard to achieve my goals nothing will happen if I just give up and not make these sacrifices I make now and always think that everything I do now will be worth it alone the way😇 I try to keep a positive attitude because if you dont being out in the road will dominate you.
I have my class A CDL. I do mostly straight truck driving. I am looking at going otr with rig and trailer. I have no tractor trailer experience. What would you suggest me to do?
I highly suggest you get training for tractor and trailer because you will need the skills to back you can definitely just go to whoever company of your choice and I’m sure they will be happy to train you with no cost but im not 100% sure

Chez, can you go over hours of service? When doing O.T.R, is it allowed to split sleeper berth time (8-2, 7-3)? or do you have to take all sleeper berth time at once (10 hrs) in a 24 hr period?
sorry im not so sure about the split time but I always just do 10hrs in sleeper, and no you cannot go over HOS

I get paid percentage, and that’s how much I was getting paid when I was with swift

idk bro just not a fan of swift and its hard for me to recommend them with such low pay they offer… you should keep calling other companies try not to go with a mega carrier you will be treated a lot better with better pay

Is it possible to drive like 10 + 10 hours and give the truck rest for 4 hours? Is it workable? Or are there any regulations against it in USA? I live in Bangladesh, a South Asian country.
