Segement swap and wiring mods - T56 tune with truck harness and PCM for

  • There are two wires to move and two to add to the PCM in order to run the Fbody 6spd tune with a Silverado wiring harness. After the simple changes to the harness, I just needs a segment swap in LS-Droid to run a 4.8 engine calibration in a 5.7 Camaro tune.

    I watched your other video on vats delete and fan ect . I'm building a 94 chevy Silverado c1500 I have a cple engines to use 6.0 Cole 5.3 .I have an l33 I'd like to run but I want to have a standard transmission. I'm not sure how to do all that file swapping stuff .as I mentioned b4 I barely can operate a computer if someday you have time cld you do another video but slow down on clicking on the stuff you need to .I guarantee more views lol .okay I hope all is well with the family and work safe

      You can slow down the playback and watch the clicks. It's not too tough to figure out either, there are good parameter notes

    im operating on HP tuners. looks like ill be swapping info onto my 5.3 PCM, just copy and paste eh? also, i want to be sure that im understanding correctly, using your method, you dont need a reverse lockout controller? the PCM does it? thanks and cheers

      Yes, PCM does it...just like a factory Camaro

    What is the 5 volt reference for? I thought the lockout solenoid used a pink 12V+ keyed source and the pin 44 on the PCM as the ground source?

      I thought they had to move for the different calibration, but apparently they are already junctioned in the PCB, so you can ignore those

    Why not just populate the tables of the 5.7 engine calibration with the values from the 4.8? I guess the segment swap was quicker, but I assume it could have been done either way?

      You can cobble it together the other way. From what I understand, you can't change displacement with LS tunes like you could the older OBD1 stuff. But you can fudge the injector and VE tables to get close. Like taking 16% of the VE table away from a 5.7 to 4.8. But there's still a bunch of other tables and I don't know about the 5.7 injectors etc. Lot better to just run a truck engine with the truck engine tune segment and go from there

      I just learning about this but I’m doing a ls1 swap from a 00’ Corvette and t56. I have a 411 from a 02’ Sierra. I’m going to buy a standalone harness but I do have a harness and pcm from a 97 camaro but I heard I can’t use them.. is that true? And can I use this truck 411 for my swap?

    • @GEARHEADdezign
      @GEARHEADdezign  ปีที่แล้ว

      Truck 411 will be fine with the LS tune and harness. The 97 Camaro stuff is LT1, which is basically a SBC with totally different ignition and injection.

    @gearheaddezign I like this datalogging. Can this be done in a v6 4.3 . p59 ecu. ve tune and no maf. just 1 o2 sensor. ? please help

    Would I be able to do this with Blue/Green connector harness I have a 05 6.0swap

    • @GEARHEADdezign
      @GEARHEADdezign  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, you'd have to convert the harness to 99-02 style. There's only a few wires to move/add. I'm doing a video on this for my L33 harness.

    • @XVISV
      @XVISV หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Appreciate it man , have more questions but I’ll wait for your video to drop I just need a better understanding with this harness because I see everyone doing it with the red/blue harness

    • @GEARHEADdezign
      @GEARHEADdezign  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @XVISV yeah there's not that many pins you need to add/change. And the 2156 OS can do basically anything

    What wires do I move on a blue and green 2006 harness

    • @GEARHEADdezign
      @GEARHEADdezign  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      To run a Camaro tune you'd have to convert to the DBC style I'd assume. I'm actually doing a video soon with my L33 harness making it DBC

    • @JoeRon-uj5jm
      @JoeRon-uj5jm 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@GEARHEADdezign I seen how to do the DBC conversion but what about the t56 is the 05 pcm able to work with a t56 wiring or does it only work with 99-02 styles

    • @GEARHEADdezign
      @GEARHEADdezign  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@JoeRon-uj5jm not that I'm aware of. I used the Camaro OS to be sure it worked. There's only a few wires to switch around to convert a 03+ harness to work with 99-02 PCM
