The reprint was sent to stores instead of only at conventions, which meant the playtest cards became a lot more available. Because they're mostly collector items and there is an identifiable difference between the original and reprint versions, the reprints are worth a lot less.
fun fact: Campaign of Vengence was terrible in limited. The format was fast/dangerous enough that playing a 5 mana do nothing enchantment usually lost you the game. Yes, I jammed it every time I could.
@@OJSTheJuice the problem with it is you rarely get to jam with the team profitably. so you're making attacks to get in a little chip damage. I tried to use it as an all in finisher. Like hit it on curve, and try and get those last 4-7 damage over 2 turns.
Me when I first saw this series: "Oh, it's just Graham opening a single pack and talking a bit about each card? What's entertaining about that feels like low effort filler" Me now: I'm not sure I ever want to watch anything else ever again
1:24 It was Control Win Condition; Can't be countered, had shroud, and was X/X for how many turns you had taken before you cast it and it was 4UU. That won me one of the 2 Mystery Booster drafts I did in Aug. 2021 when they reprinted the convention edition and sold them to stores.
I feel Recylca-Bird needs to be an artifact creature in order to justify giving another creature a flying counter. Otherwise, I'm imagining a human trying flap whatever sized bloody, mutilated wings they're holding.
These were the coolest idea! Being able to basically go to a convention and draft a cube was brilliant and ensured that there was always going to be a fun limited thing to do that you can't do anywhere else, making the magic fests worth the extra effort versus just a local game store.
You'd think the Planeswalker symbol would make the cards cost less, but I can report from personal experience unfortunately that they are almost never cheaper enough to make a difference.
The way they did it was each slot in the booster was a whole sheet of 101 unique cards, with each sheet broken up by specific colors. So the first two sheets were all white common cards, and didn't share any cards between either white sheet, then two blue sheets, etc down the board.
So at CFB Vegas 21 in Nov., Mystery Booster drafts were taken off the list of eligible redemptions if you bought the limited package, and they ran out of Mystery Boosters by the end of the first day.
Really hoping lots of these at whatever magicfest sort of thing we get back eventually. We only have 2 a year in Australia and the one I can make was cancelled due to lockdowns. I'd gladly spend the whole weekend on these drafts
The reprint test cards are worth less because they dont have the little Planeswalker symbol at the bottom of the card. The original run had a lot less printed, and scarcity begets value
a Mysteriy boostie is always fun, i glad this cards give as a price (the regulars) for winning tourneys in the regular shop. they are fun. more as i think at first. but no rewarding in money, but who cares is a misteriy boostie. BTW i didn't know about the reprint theme.
I bought a box of the retail kind and the same day my aunt bought a box at the same store for my cousin. She stopped and got his on her way to my house then I said "I have to go buy one later" and she said "You can pay me for this one and I can go get another one for Kevin so you don't have to leave your house" I told her No thats fine I want to get out anyway for a little bit. I should have taken her up on it because my cousin pulled a Mana crypt in his and ours was decidedly less spicy.
These are so comforting for some weird reason. Like I would like one every day.
Ya, Graham has that effect. I really like his vlogs for the same reason.

Whoever was responsible for failing to give Recyla-Bird Cycling has a lot to answer for.
Probably didn't want it to actually just be Aven Oddity.
That idea probably turned into Aven Oddity to be honest
"They are never going to play around Mana Tithe" is the perfect flavour text of Mana Tithe...
Loving the bit-crushed Duke Nukem 3D Booster ASMR. Such nostalgia.
I think "It's like gush...in a morph stick....cool" might be peak MTG incomprehensibility. :)

Terrible shame, the card seemed fun.

but actually these videos are so relaxing and comforting I love them
"Greetings, you Stinkweed Imps!" *_HOW DARE_*

I've only opened one mystery booster and I got a lotus petal from it. So I'm not complaining too much.
Came to this network of channels for Betrayal Legacy, stayed for Graham’s witty repartee about Magic

These are literally the only pack opening videos I care about.
You'd think the Planeswalker symbol would make the cards cost less, but I can report from personal experience unfortunately that they are almost never cheaper enough to make a difference.
Mana Tithe actually won me a number of tournaments back in the day in mono-white slivers. People just didn’t expect it XD
Another mystery boostie! These are the packs that I personally enjoy the most because of the sheer variety.
Time Spiral’s oldborder cards were Timeshifted
Planar Chaos’ alternate border was Colorshifted
Future Sight’s futuristic border was Futureshifted.

Mystery Booster sealed is genuinely one of the most fun limited formats I have played in many years.
Mhhh, the pack opening ASMR was extra crunchy today
When Graham says “I hope you are doing well”, I believe him
These edits man. Amazing!
Life is like a mystery booster, you never know what you're gonna get.
Mana Tithe notably excellent in vintage cube!
Cori was on point for that asterisk placement.

Maybe it's because the Playtest Cards no longer have the Planewalker Symbol in the new version?

Got myself a mana crypt from my retail edition mystery booster box when they came out
Gush spell on a Morph stick, turtle power.
Aww hell yeah you got the best playtest card
Engagement for the engagement god!
i'm 2 minutes into this video and i just really hope this is the start of an ARG.
I love mystery booster!!
Love the crack-a-packs!!
Don’t cards from “The List” also have the little Planeswalker logo?

No one ever suspects the mana tithe!
Also EO1 is Archenemy Nicol Bolas, and I'm gonna pretend I just knew that and didn't look it up.
One With Death for Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. Do it, Wizards.
I think Recycla-Bird would kick Captain Planet's ass, don't you?

They are called "Mysty Boostys"
Control Win COndition is a Whale not a Leviathan haha

Speaking of Conventions, any news on if LRR is going to go to Pax East this year?
Crack! A! Pack!
Recycle Bird is as much as krenko are you serious
Krenko's been printed 5 times, Recyclabird only once. Supply difference /shrug
Playtest card, 2 white, 2 blue, 2 black, 2 red, 2 green, 1 multi color, 1 colorless, 1 old boarder, 1 rare/mythic
And I thought it was just the most recent printing of the card, which for some was Duel Decks, etc.
How do you pronounce "Myster Booster"? Who knows
