"here you can see it compared to nothing, for scale" just absolutely *broke* me. excellent work, all. XD
That, and the camera following the art and paper as they fell out of the box and slid onto the table. I love the sense of humour in the editing. ❤️
I had to pause for that, too. :-D
I appreciate Graham's analysis of the packaging, but I would also like Boxnard to weigh in.
I thoroughly enjoyed this comment
Came here to also suggest a Boxnard collaboration.
Boxnard sold out to Big Cardboard a long time ago
it's nice
Immediately came to the comments for a Boxnard comment and was not disappointed
Drafting Collector Boosters feels like the Magic equivalent of lighting a cigar with a $100 bill.
I feel like I'm repeating myself too much, but good lord do I adore these videos. The music, the editing, Graham just vibing. Genuinely some of the best "Kick back and relax" content in recent memory, great job lads.
As someone who has a degree in packaging, I really appreciate the foil packaging. It really stands out in my magic box collection.
By that reasoning, you must also like the The Simpsons' 6th Season CE Homer's Head DVD box? >>thinking emoji
Oh my, forget the Collector's Boostie, give me more of that adult box appreciating content.
That is the stuff I crave
Herein, Graham reminds us all how old we are.
I learned I am old when I got nice towels for Christmas & was elated.
For me I actually look FORWARD to socks and underwear (sometimes specifically asking for it) because it's like "yup, shit I don't have to buy myself but actually need!" As I kid I use to hate getting clothes and toiletries for Christmas now I'm like "don't have to buy anymore shower gel for like the entire month and a half after Christmas!" whilst buried in toiletry sets.
This bundle box is my favourite of any they've ever done. The art with the foiling process are just incredible.
The transition when Graham got up to get a different d20 for comparison was /beautiful/. Well done.
I use those boxes exactly for holding dice at the moment. Spin downs to be specific.
I wrote a whole novel about why they kept the spacer, but it had way more detail than most people would care about. But the gist of it is that the entire logistics chain from manufacture to display at retail is set up for the existing size. It was easier to maintain the existing dimensions than to change all that.
My headcanon was that it was the marketing team, but that makes sense too.
Okay, update on the "timeline" of this recording. Forgotten Realms hadn't been spoiled yet. So... I'm thinking around April?
Yes! So glad to see someone trying to pin down *when* these take place.
They're not released in the order they're recorded though so the mystery continues!
Honestly, I would watch graham talking about boxes for an hour or so
Have you seen Graham's hour on Olympic and Paralympic logo designs? If not I highly recommend.
@@justineelzak4285 i have! they were really fun watches!
The value in that collector's pack was really good. Congrats, Graham.
Thank you for the crack-a-pack, Boxnard529
That charix literally standing up unaided tho
Man you are REALLY seeing the start of the card warping on those foils. I mean they haven't even been out of a pack and they've already started to warp.
Also really looking forward to when in-person drafting can happen again and a LRR FNPR is everyone dressed in their finest dinner-wear drafting collector boosters, packs passed around on silver platters, live violin tastefully being played in The Friend Zone, Beej as a fancy waiter; the works! (A chaos collector booster draft would be wild and fun to watch though)
I had a rough day today and this Crack-A-Pack really helped me to relax. Thanks a lot, Graham!
5:53 wow those foil lands remind me of my favorite chips, for some reason.... It's just something about them reminds me of those salty pringles that I loved so much as a child.
And I don't think its the smell.
The good box is pretty good for dice, token, top loader, and/or extras storage (3d printed tokens, that paper thopter's pieces we got with Kaladesh)
I don't even play Magic anymore. I just tune in for Graham being goofy.
Oh wow that swirl effect on the dice was amazing
"Hey this is Boxnard529, and today we are looking at the boxes of the Zendikar Gift Bundle."
Pro tip: 2 dragon shield sleeve boxes and that bundle box container work like a dream
I love the little boxes in the bundles. They hold a double sleeved commander deck perfectly! 😁
I like this product. Kinda miss the old holiday gift box, but the holofoil boxes are insanely cool. Very pretty for storing lands and sleeves to bring to drafts, whenever that happens again.
The big die not fitting in my dice containers sucks a lot though.
I am here for talking about BOXES with Graham. New series let's do this! :D
The Bigger than Before _got_ me.
Matt, pop 👏 off 👏 with 👏 editing 👏
haha his opinion on the extra box "thats, a nice box!" thats where i am at also haha
Now I'm almost tempted to send in some 'oddly satisfying' cardboard boxes for Graham to act like a boring adult over. I can relate so much.
Graham's so into boxes, he must be hanging out with his cats a lot.
I'm fully expecting Graham receiving a cease and desist letter from Boxnard for gimmick infringement.
"I couldn't find one the same color." That's because the big dice from these bundle products are exclusively made for those, with colors and size unavailable in any other MTG product, afaik.
Moraug, like Mua'dib is a killing name, in that Graham almost died for a moment there while saying it.
I am so here for the box commentary.
Man! This stuff just continues to such great content. Very chill. Very easily digestible. Very cool.
The artwork on the box depicts the fake beard that Emrakul uses to disguise herself so she can sneak around undetected.
sounds like a plan to run phylath with boseiju reaches skyward. flips into a 0/0 plant that gets +1 for each of your lands.
Forget Crack-A-Pack, Talk-A-Box is the wave of the future
I literally just built an omnath landfall deck last week and that pack would have been perfect for it
I love how the foils are already pringled
Those square divider boxes are super useful for holding single EDH decks if you're not planning on bringing them out of your home.
I know it's only been a year, but it feels like Zendikar Rising came out so long ago.
I actually use that little black box to hold my dice.
the empty box is useless because it doesn't fit any cards. they should just remove it. thanks for commenting on it.
ok, there is one heck of a R/G landfall deck goin on in this pack
My roommates and I made draft kits out of those little boxes. 45ish sleeves, some dice, a pen.
I really liked the old Holiday Giftboxes for storing my collection. Would be quite happy if they brought those back. Sadly this is not that kind of product. Video was still great though!
I am glad Graham wouldn't judge me for the amount of those bundle box fillers I still have lying around. I have used at least...two of them...
you can put a couple commander decks in a bundle box with plenty of room for tokens and dice and such. highly underrated packaging, imo.
I love those tiny inner deck box. There has bin times o only got a bundle for that inner box.
Thanks yet again Graham for the nice vid, and also to James and the editors. Takecare. Regards.
Yay, he corrected the last episodes lack of menaché :D
I actually use the bundle boxes to store my decks. They are fairly sturdy, and they come with the cards I want to buy anyway.
Best part about Moraug is that you can easily screw yourself out of that extra combat phase if you're not careful. If you play your land during *first* main phase, his extra combat phase will go first, and you'll end up with everything tapped for the actual combat
Yes, that happened to me on Arena. Several times
@15:41 someone moved the mouse and you can see VLC's controls on the monitor behind Graham.
I really like the insert box/container inside the bundle box. The cardboard box that helps fill for size has not been useful in any way, shape, or form. But I have used the insert container to hold my rares and foils.
Nothing for scale is perfection.
Why would the art panarama not be foil? That is the one thing that would actually be cool foil?
Dumb button idea: Menace followed by the phonetic guide of how you all pronounce it. (If there was room, something clever like "Only if you do too" or "From the Latin for 'gross, come help me with this'" would be pretty cute too, as I love when you talk about the flavor of menace)
Mad me sad when you made fun of the oversized die. 😕 That’s one of my favourite parts of the “fatback”. But you won me right back when you praised the box quality and cool insert box. Gotta love the accessories.
I think I may have spent too long working in the finance world, that when the list of card prices came up and one of them was in red, my immediate reaction was "how on earth is Spire Garden worth _negative_ 17 dollars???" before I realised it was just being used for highlighting...
Compared to nothing for scale...
...
*slow clap*
i use the boxes from a collector bundle i bought for my draft/event kit.... so 25 of each basic, a spindowns, sleeves and plenty of space for sideboard.
I know he uses real card names for the opening greeting, but I'm just waiting for "Greetings, you scrungy bundams".
Phylath is a mythic, in Puzzle Quest at least. Because in Puzzle Quest, Phylath makes X 1/1 saproling tokens where X is equal to the number of green gems on the board. Pairs very well with Tanazir Quandrix.
That radial wipe! 4:06
Phylath is just straight-up an Evangeleon.
Graham so taken by the box! Baxter is in controlllllll
I opened one of these at Christmas last year and I got a Prerelease promo Nimble Trapfinder as the foil in one of my regular packs. It was *real* weird.
You say collector boosters can't be drafted but damn would I love to see a collector booster chaos draft when you can draft in person at the moonbase again.
Isn't that basically the new innistrad draft thingy they announced for January?
The reason the box is padded out is because it is cheaper to include the small box then to change out their production equipment that runs at a certain size requirements. -Sincerely, a fan in the card printing industry
I've used that box to put my drafting supplies (dice, tokens, sleeves) so it wouldn't clutter my gaming bag
When Graham said
_"It's a nice box"_
I felt that
"Oh, I shouldn't have done that."
The die be big.. whip it at your opponent's face. Duly noted, Graham!
One could say it is the "Meh"venger of Zendikar
They probably didn't make the box smaller even though everything fits in the box now, because someone on the marketing team said that it would seem to potential customers that you were getting less for the same price, even though you might actually be getting more nowadays.
I remember when the fat packs came taller because they needed the space to include the book for the set. Yes, an actual paperback book.
Those were the days...I do think you got fewer packs at the time, though.
Graham’s Box Reviews: coming soon
Since you said that you don't usually draft collector boosters... I wanna see that in a FNPF. Maybe 4 packs per person since you'll be missing a lot of glue
Always thought this looked like a beard, glad I'm not alone
I watch these waayyy to quickly
So that box I use for a dice box it's a good size and fits alot of dice
In our hypothetical draft, I feel like we'd get more value from the Phylath. BUT this is your choice, and I respect that! (just know I took the Phylath on the wheel)
For me, this opened with an ad for tourism in BC. Now I love Vancouver island, but I feel like maybe it's still not a good time to travel across borders? What with the plague?
Good to see a return of boxnard529
That IS a nice box.
BIGGER THAN BEFORE!
Dangerously close to a Boxnard stream
15:40 I see you, VLC.
Actually the old fat packs still only had a box worth of thing but they had cardboard on the side which raised the lid
Graham reviews zendikar bundle packaging
... and then he became addicted to opening and sniffing new cards...
Thank you for subscribing to Canopy Baloth Facts!
Mmmm they changed the illumination for Graham`s shoot?... he looks a bit more red?
i would love to see a strixhaven version of party but call it study group and it counts wizards, clerics, warlocks, druids, shamans
10:25 That means she breathes light.
Nice! new crack a pack
Engagement for the engagement god!
