If "Pteramander says 'Ptrans Rights'" hasn't already been a button, it needs to be one.
I feel like it's an Autumn Burchett line, and LRR tries to make buttons from *their own* jokes.
@@WhiteWizard42 Fair enough; this was my first time hearing it.
@@WhiteWizard42 I feel like there's some ambiguity here, so it's worth clarifying that the "their" you're referring to is indeed LRR and not Autumn Burchett, who IIRC uses they/them.
@@Sugarman96 Autumn has fairly recently asked that she/her be used for her, actually
@@hayatofalconchild I stand corrected then, thank you.
MF'IN CALGARY! Also the *censored* pack opening got a good laugh out of me 😂 Always love watching these both for Graham's commentary on the cards and the wonderful editing!
It's weird how this episode starts 25 seconds in and the fifteen seconds before it are just a complete blank screen. If Graham were to have opened the pack prematurely due to audio issues and have to try to salvage it, I would never know!
"Pteramander says ptrans rights" is why I keep coming back to LRR. Bless
G shouting "MOTHER *bleeping* CALGARY" lives rent free in my head now. Thanks for that
Pitiless Pontiff on Arena was in this fun spot where it was not good enough to be on the radar, which meant an unreasonable amount of times, they used a removal spell on it, letting me just sac a worse creature of my choice, leading to an extended time actually reading the card.
"The Church of Deals"
I'm now imagining a Dave's Spokesman bit for the Orzhov church.
I'd love to see it happen.
This episode is really throwing me for a loop. I'm also a Nathan from Calgary who went to the 2019 GP, but that pack isn't from me! I have a doppelgänger in my own city!
'Twas me! (Though I'm technically from Edmonton.)
@@nathanmeichel7877 Cool! Nice to meet you. Thank you for the sound bite of graham saying my name - very surreal stuff.
This comment interaction is hilarious 😂
@@nathanmeichel7877 Oh hey! A fellow Edmontonian, out in the wild!
Looking forward to seeing Rames of the Flazeboar played in the next Roborosewater stream
I love how Simic Guild creatures just roll two or more completely incompatible creature types together, like elf lizard wizard or crab turtle crocodile
There’s a few beasts but I hope next time they expand into even more wild combinations, like elk jellyfish or turtle squirrel
8:30 So, what you are saying is this is a situational Boar-d Wipe.
My pack was finally cracked! (And for the record, it was indeed Nelson that I gave it to - he judged the second day of Highlander events.)
2:50 But then we saw Kaya in Innistrad beating up Vampires. I don't know...the vampires on Ravnica better be worried. But how would they know? 🤔
I'm impressed with how you all consistently get these in the 9-12 minute range while maintaining a nice, casual pacing.
Editing.
@@Mordalon Yeah, skillful editing is a significant part of it. But Graham is also able to give them enough to work with regardless of whether or not the pack is 8 cards, 15 cards, or some number in between.
It'd be cool to get a Loading Time on one of these episodes! :D
something I appreciate about Undercity Scavenger that I didn't notice until now is that it's a black Hill Giant in stats/cost but is an Ogre since that's the "giant" species on Ravnica.
There's definitely Giants on Ravnica too, though. Bulwark Giant from War of the Spark comes to mind, I think there were a few in Guilds/Allegiance too.
I'm a simple man. I see the Crack-a-Pack, I click.
Then I get blown away by Mr Stark swearing
Pteramander says ptrans rights!
hi emily
This was the set that taught me to be a degenerate control player again. I got back into magic during Guilds (played a lot of Izzet), but Allegiance is the set that reminded me who I really am. Good times!
Was this in draft, or in Standard? If it's draft, I'm curious which archetype you found most success with as a Control player!
Flames of the raze-boar is fun in kalamax, unless you’re playing against it with a creature deck. It’s good once but when it’s copied 2-3 times there’s just nothing left except the lightning butt dino after it resolves
aaaah! Spoopy Matt! and omnipresent Heather! aaaaaaa!
These pack opening videos are a highlight of my day, Graham. Thank you!
Excellent, as always.
Graham: makes a vocal pedagogy joke.
Me, a vocal music major: haha, clever joke, Graham.
I need graham saying "gruul gruul gruul gruul" as a cell phone ringtone.
God dammit, Graham. I didn't notice the eyestalks and now I can't unsee them...
I would kinda love to see Cameron or Nelly do a set of C-A-P recordings, it would provide a fantastic whiplash from the usual Graham energy of the series.
that's the april fools episode, yo
James pack opening (it’s all lands)
One upside of the Scuttlegator is that you don't have to look at the art a lot. I don't think I've ever seen that thing on the battlefield.
Pteramander was super fun in the Standard Izzet Spells deck
ah, so thats where that deathtouch converter is. i could remember the ability but not the card itself.
i liked running high alert too. i tried the wrecking beast but rarely was able to afford casting it.
It is good to be here, much like all others are here. Here we are (here).
Yeah I remember paying $3-4 apiece for Pteramanders from Miniature Market locally in STL to have them in time for the last PTQ held in STL in May 2019.
This was also the first time I played blue (Izzet) in my then 7 years of constructed Magic play.
Goodnight, Seattle! We're the Junk Trollers!
Huh, I've opened more packs of this set than you can shake a stick at, but I've neither seen nor heard of that rare before!
Ravnica Allegiance was such a fun limited format. Going to the prerelease for that I ended-up running this goofy Temur Counters deck that played Rhythm of the Wild and Skarrgan Hellkite plus a bunch of Adapt creatures and Flames of the Raze-Boar and beat unholy amounts of face. Now both that Rhythm and Hellkite live in my Gruul commander deck. Good times.
now I just want to build a simic deck just to run the scuttlegator just for the eyestalk creepfactor
Pteramander got me into standard for the first time in my magic life and I started playing just before original mirrodin released
MF Calgary was actually a Samuel L Jackson convention in a parallel universe that collided with ours.
"pteramander says ptrans rights"
The perfect time to Crack a Pack.
No, Graham, you're thinking of a larynx. An arynx is the name for the analogous structure in birds, which have more than one.
PTRANS RIGHTS
I played Flames of the Raze-Boar with Pestilent Spirit at a sealed once... it was epic
ENGAGEMENT!
I am also upset at the scuttlegator realization. Thanks Grahm
I went Temur for the RNA prerelease and as I recall it went quite decently despite no huge bombs.
2:13 And his train of thought was still relevant by Crimson Vow
Engagement for the engagement god!
Love me a crack a pack episode. Still need to know where I can get that hoodie too...
This was the set that was out when I started playing (I know, I’m new) so this is pretty cool. Also, my name’s Nathan (wasn’t at MF Calgary though).
GP Calgary was a great "vlog/sketch" video :)
The earliest I’ve ever been. 😂
I would kill for a "pteramander says ptrans rights" shirt.
I am interacting! I would tell my friends but they already know and probably watched this before I did.
Highest card quality pack ever? Basically every card ranged from "ok" To "good", this in a sealed would be excellent to open
Is like this pack got mixed up with a Gruul theme pack or something with the amount in it
... Yeah, I'm Definitely Gruul. - Me, the entire time this was in standard.
Just cracked a whole box, got guardian project and one of each shock.
YAY! Graham did a swear!
Is there any rhyme or reason to the pack they open?
James was there, doing James things.
Is it still at 42% lol?
Is not crocodile tail, is bridge.
The subtle trans rights was very nice to hear
Scuttlegator eye stalks. Thanks, I hate it 👍
A good pteromander is hard to find
Crack! A! Pack!
Nice to know someone else reads Mf the same way.
Re: Scuttlegator
Thanks, I hate it.
the part of the bocy has an L its larynx but u were close haha.
Yeah I'm a junk trawler but you don't have to call attention to it :(
Super early! Let's go!
I sadly noticed the eye thing just before you mentioned it. Deeply unpleasant.
I never saw the eyestalks before. Looking at the art is now very uncomfortable.
Too much crab? But people love crab!
Trans rights!
Engage
If its type includes crocodile it shouldn't have gator in the name.
Gators are crocodilians.
Magic uses "Crocodile" as the creature type for all crocodilians. Crocodiles, alligators, gharials, caimans, Egyptian crocodile-god-demons (Ammit), and whatever other weird alien versions they come up with for various planes.
"MF Calgary? Maybe Nelson went there to Judge or something?"
*Smash cut to Nelson in judge's regalia*
"This Magic Fest is f*****g terrible!"
