Also a rules clarification Errata would have been nice about having a ploy cost 0CP in exchange for a trooper. Like, does it mean that In Life Shame can be 0CP and put on all operatives? @ it's still the current edition, for sure. Every wargame has balance issues, the current ruleset is at least attempting to fix them. The last edition never will.

And the Reanimation Protocol now is only a total of 3-5 total, instead of 4-8. Because when they reanimate, they come back with 1 damage instead of (old) 1D3+1. So they come back = 1 Plus protocol 1D3+1. = 3-5 Also, Tesla Weave Improved to 1D3+1 (old 1D3) BUT only once per turning point and no matter how many Necrons were charged (used to be 1D3 for each Necron within control range). So Nerfed! Canoptek Repair now 2D3 (old 3D3)
The modification for the Guard action is important for the Deathmark which could be teleported without doing any action on himself but now it will break guard because of the setup keyword
The Chaos Cult change is a buff - when the new edition launched Chaos Cults were nerfed to only allow one operative to turn into a Torment per turn, which is (I think) the primary reason they were underperforming compared to last edition, as well as the fact that their leader can no longer force an operative to mutate (which is currently unchanged). As for rule changes they missed - the "small" rule for Gellerpox Glitchling still doesn't specify that the Glitchling needs to have a conceal order in order to be untargetable while in cover. I'm unsure if this is deliberate from GW or has just been missed 2 updates running
@@MrGrunja Not in the current edition you couldn't. You need to mutate a devotee into a mutant first which you can only do on TP1, then in TP 2 you could mutate only one of those mutants into a torment. So max 1 torment by TP 2. Now however, with this rule change you can have 2 torments in TP2. People misunderstand this rule so often it's crazy, even in battle reports on youtube for this edition.
Hi, the one Brood Brothers player at LVO here, Cult Devotion is a Strategy Ploy where you can make a melee hit on death and it’s based off the weapons hit stat if it succeeds or not. That why they specify that you don’t become wounded and suffer the +1 to hit. The more you know and thanks for the video!
Mutability and change used to let you increase the APL of a Tzeentch warrior, then you would change its mark to have a 4 APL operative of a different mark, so like a 4 APL quick silver speed Slanesh operative for example, which was horrifying.
The farstalker ploy cut throat was changed, so that the buff doesn’t occur during the action, which originally contradicts the current change of stats not changing during an action
1:00:37 - this pretty much describes me and my friend's situation. We're new to KT and so far I've pretty much gotten completely tabled against my friend's NC when playing as Aquilons. Do you (or anyone reading this) have any suggestions for creating enjoyable match-ups as a beginner? Is it better to just play elite vs elite and regular vs regular until we're more experienced with the game?
This would be with a video and chat if I could figure out the title... But basically: play elites into elites. Play everything else into everything else. Don't play the S tier or the D tier. There you go, fun game!
Breachers barely getting touched despite being considered one of the worst teams (or actually just the worst team by many) is a bit rough tbh Also you misunderstood the change to Brace for Counterattack ploy - the breachers don't have to be in friendly territory to benefit, it's just another way they can benefit. It's strictly a buff. So even if they haven't repositioned, charged or fallen back, as long as they are in friendly territory they still get the benefit
Fickle Fates gave originally gave Punishing. So with Severe and Rending you could guarantee two crits with some shots. Severe, Punishing and Rending really should have a set trigger order.
There were a couple buffs/nerfs that are solid and got missed from lack of understanding. Maybe not quite as many as there should have been, but this isn't bad.
Andy, about counteract shenanigsns: mandrakes can teleported with a portal. So no more counteract teleporting. Also about the omnisiah thing for hunter clade: essential it means "if your opponent rolls awsome, you can d3+1 damage yourself when in defence mode, to suddenly give yourself a EXTRA DEFENSE DIE AND A BETTER SAVE. so you go from" oh shit"to "lol I AM PARRYING THAT YOU FILTHY CASUAL" And then it'd your turn so you could even heal it back semi immediately.
The psychomancer was very strong but the nerf is absolutely insane 4" range bubble is stupid and it's easy to counter that ability and now you can retaine native crits in mélée .... adding that to the tesla working once it's a bit harsh for him I think Technomancer is now very good but Psychomancer will stay for long in the shelf
Killing the 2+ save for warpcoven is a ridiculous nerf. Completely changes the playstyle and flavor of the whole team. Coming from someone who doesnt even play them.
I think most of the changes are really reasonable... The changes feel like they're bringing things down to still be strong, but with a mix of buffs for other armies and learning the game, they are hoping for true balance instead of just making people happy on the internet... I think some of the most frustrating aspects of the S tier teams, have been brough tdown to strong/reasonable... This is a game of dice, and major swings can take place. OTher teams will continue to be brought up, which is better than wide wide nerfs.
Expected surface pass we were expecting but with a month and a half more experience behind it than we thought there would be. Would love more changes to other teams. I don't think counteract can change in a sensible way, the other teams need to be touched more. Kasrkin, Breachers and the like need more help than they got.
gellerpox suck less now. yay! what pisses me off is that hunter clade, in the bulwark imperative straight out reduces the damage of dice from 3 plus to one less!! thats what gellerpox should have!! just a straight 1 damage reduction from 3 or more damage!!! WHY DO I NEED TO ROLL ??? ITS STILL AWFUL

The balefire acolyte was only able to heal a friendly operative within 6" so it is not like you could just perma heal anyone on your team. You have to be able to move within 6" and then get a decent enough roll so that means to really make use of this you have to concentrate this unit to the middle of the board. That makes it pretty easy to line up a kill on it. This seems like a change to accommodate poor play more than addressing an rule power issue
It was mostly that there were no limit of amount of time he can heal, and he does that for every attack dice during a melee interaction. that was cancerous
A bit sad to see the rubic 2+ go but at least I dont have to feel as guilty about playing Warpcoven. Just means theres no longer a reason not to run 3 sorcerers

@@avozsaj Yes BUT keep in mind that these things have to be done in advance and I would guess that the balance team didn't have nearly as much data as we have now. Total guess, but this was done minimum 2 months ago.
It didn't feel busted in previous editions because there were more objectives so every APL they were using to shoot your dudes was one more they weren't using to cover their already stretched VP tally. In the new edition, it's a lot more busted. Plus they're not just 3 APL, they're 3.5 because they also get to counteract.

Hunter Clave absolutely do not need a buff. If you're local Hunter Clave isn't running "oops all ruststalkers," they are playing it wrong. Being able to charge and instantly push 12 damage with rending and ceaseless is insane.

For Hierotek Circle, Shroud of Fear and Countertemporal Nanomine used to have 8", Canoptek Repair was 3d3 wounds.

The navy breachers have "OR" in brace for counter attack, so its a huge buff, because it works after moving when on your half.
For the Kroot changes, Most of the wording was Accurate x, So them getting balanced now is a nice change for us.

Novitiates used to heals D3+Total Faith point spend , Now heal only D3
The "no changing stats during an action" sounds like it lets Bomb Squigs shoot at their full BS if they Boom! and weren't injured before hand.
There's also an impact on the Mandrake Dirgemaw Horrifying Scream, where Stun now clearly doesn't affect the target's save.

Seems to be quite a few teams have had their Accurate 1s changed to Balanced. Oddly it seems to mostly be on teams that are generally considered weak.
