    ►Here is my video review of The Last Coat version 2.0 (TLC2): • THE LAST COAT version ...
    Black Ice is for exterior surfaces only.
    Features:
    Compared to TLC2, Black Ice:
    Lasts longer as it has a durability of 12 to 18 months
    Feels slicker
    Is more hydrophobic
    Has more UV protection
    Has better self cleaning properties meaning that the car is easier to wash
    Only 1 oz. of product needed for an average-sized car
    IMPORTANT: Wait 24 hours before exposing the vehicle to water or the elements and a full 7 days before washing, exposure to harsh chemicals, and before applying any toppers like TLC2 or AMP.
    After 7 days, TLC2 and/or AMP can be used as a drying aid or to remove bird droppings, finger prints, or to remove light dust. TLC2 will also add layers of protection on top of BLACK ICE and help preserve and rebuild it as well.
    Optimal temperature range for application is above 40F (5C) and below 90F (32C).
    Black Ice can be applied on top of TLC2. It is not recommended to apply Black Ice on top of waxes or regular paint sealants.

    Love Black Ice, it’s been on my vehicle for 6 months now. It is very hydrophobic and glossy, it’s a different look than most spray on sealants give you. Very slick. Yes a bit pricey, I have typically bought it in bundles or with discount codes so it’s cheaper. But yes it’s a unique looks and hydrophonic effect. One main thing is you use so little of it, that has to be factored into price. Amazing stuff, but have to prep properly. Yes test out ClearSR.

The clarity and gloss it gives to the paint is insane and out of this world! Also when it rains the car hardly even gets dirty and the car is so easy to wash now! I love black ice!

    Applied 2 coats of Black Ice to my 6 month old F150 last week. Foamed vehicle with purple power and then contact wash with chemical guys clean slate. Followed up with Adams iron remover and car pro eraser. Black ice is easy to apply even for first time users of ceramic coatings and seems to be pretty for forgiving. Yes it works great on glass too. Plan on following up with TLC 2 after 7 days as recommended. I applied this outside on a very cloudy day ( south Texas ) in the shade with no rain in the forecast. I have tried all the products mentioned in this video except iron remover and mineral deposit remover. They work very well. As always, a great video on how to use this product.

    When do you figure that one of you detailers will ever create a flowchart of the complete exterior detailing process?
    For example:
    Starts with "Complete Restoration" >>
    Progress to "Daily Driver" >>
    Then to "New Auto" >>
    Finish with "Regular Maintenance"
    I'm new to all of this so understand that I may have overlooked steps/stages.
    This would go a long way to understanding each product and use.
    A really creative flowchart could be a download with embedded hyperlink to your appropriate videos of all products used, recommended and tested and application instructions.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Black Ice is best used as a base layer of protection, but you could top your existing ceramic coating with it. Just don't expect the same durability. And I wouldn't overdo it in layering different products from different brands as you can't ensure chemical compatibility. If your car is already getting a graphene coating, stick to that, and top that with ONE product.

    Another excellent video, Pan! Thank you
    Just a quick, slightly unrelated question; I've used many temporary spray-on type ceramic coatings (Mother's, Turtle Wax, Meguiars, etc) and have found them to be somewhat 'static' and attract dust. Is there something that can be added over the top to prevent this without affecting the previous layer?

  • @austinlehr2923

    Have been meaning to apply a ceramic coating for a couple years, but as one can assume, it requires a lot of time...I’d gone back and forth on wanting to apply a true ceramic like gtechniq or cquartz. Ultimately this video and the ravings therein influenced me to want to at least give this suspension ceramic format a whirl. Been very pleased thus far...will update as time elapses.

    I just ordered a bottle of Black Ice and have been using TLC2, The Last Soap, and CeraTrim for a few months now. I'm a weekend warrior and have appreciated the personal time savings and results compared to keeping so many different products in stock for unique purposes. With the discounts that TLC provides and being disciplined with the quantities used, I've been able to maximize my results. I'm not sure your comment of "a little goes a long way" is sinking in with those that haven't tried it. I always enjoy your videos and your endorsement for the use of The Last Coat, sponsored or otherwise, reinforces my decision to use their products. I share the same thoughts of hoping for a tire dressing in the future that compliments the ease of use and protection of other TLC products.

    • @seansean8008
      @seansean8008 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have had these issues too, and what I finally deduced is you have to test the surface and find that right combo: pad, compound, polisher speed. Any of these can make THE difference in how good your finish will be. I worked on a Mustang with heavy swirling. I always go least aggressive and evaluate. I used a finishing disc with finishing compound on speed 3.5 and it left me with swirls. I changed to a uro 50/50 and it did better, but left swirls behind. I changed to a meguiars compound and raised the speed to 4 and it was pure magic. No extra finishing needed. Depending on how deep your swirls, you may go a little more aggressive in speed, pad or compound to get that last little bit of perfection you seek. Best of luck to you, I would love to hear any follow up if you go at it again !

    Love your videos. I’ve been watching them for over a year now. I’m about to do my major detail for the year following these exact steps in this video but I have a couple questions.
    1)What do you recommend diluting PurplePower Vehicle/Boat down to in the foam cannon?

      1) You have to adjust the dilution according to your setup. I use 4 oz in 16 oz of water.

    I’ve got 2 bottles of the last coat and 1 bottle of TLC2 and I bought a bottle of APM!
    Here are my thoughts, The Last Coat really is a great product however I like (and I believe other customers feel the same) to put on the Last Coat without having to purchase AMP! AMP adds that slickness that we all desire. AND I will say that my 2016 Dodge Charger Hellcat turns heads where ever I go!! The Last Coat has my Charger looking super sharp. Most folks think it’s a 2020, but it’s so bright they can’t believe it’s a 2016.
    Bottom line The Last Coat does work, but I have 2 bottles of the original 1 bottle of the Last Coat 2 or TLC2, then I got the bottle of Amp...So now they have yet 1 more bottle of something else....this does not include the bar clay or microfiber towels! I spent a small fortune on all this stuff. When I finally run out, I’m going back to the books and I’m doing my research again. There are several coatings out there that you use one bottle and that’s it. And if I find out that the Last Coat is better still. Then I will eat crow and continue on with TLC2 Along with everything they claim you need....

    Excuse me if this is a pretty basic question but your videos are great at teaching me how to apply all the Last Coat products but I am unsure on the long term use. How often do you apply each of these? If you use the Black Ice that lasts ~ 1 year what do you do after a year, do you remove it? How often do you apply Last Coat (or AMP) over the Black Ice? Basically it's this kind of stuff I don't know.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As the Black Ice lasts 12 to 18 months depending on your conditions and maintenance habits, not much needs to be done. You can use AMP as a drying aid after each wash to boost and slickness if you want. Or use it once every two months as a maintenance for Black Ice, to keep that going strong like day 1.
      After about a year, if you want to remove it, only machine polishing will fully remove it. It's a pretty durable coating. But why would you want to remove it? What I would do, is wash, iron remover, claybar, machine polish if your paint has swirls and scratches, and then IPA wipe down, and then apply a fresh layer of Black Ice.

    • @jgdudash
      @jgdudash 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’m hesitant to even try “black ice,” after watching the review on TLC v2 I bought it and prepped my new car perfectly. I was very displeased with the results after just 2 weeks TLC v2 was almost completely gone. I’ve been using TW seal and shine for awhile on my other vehicles and that last at least a month if not more (for a third of the price). I want to believe that I may have gotten a bad bottle, but for 19 dollar and more importantly all the time I put into prep work. Pan, I love what you do. I am a big fan. I have one question you said throw away your micro fiber towels after wiping off ceramic coating? That sounds expensive! What options are there.. What do you do? Thank you.. More question coming..

      Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated! Make sure you read the description under the video, I often add complementary information there, like the answer to your question which is: "303 mentioned that if you clean the applicators and towels immediately after use, you can reuse them."

    Come on admit it, who laughed when Pan said “delivered the goods”. I’m a little behind in watching some of the recent video but this one is excellent, I’ll be placing an order soon

    Fantastic video Pan! Will order Black Ice. My car has coats of TLC 2.0 and AMP. Can I wash my car with CP Reset and the apply TLC Black Ice?

    A water spot removal video would be great!! I’m not a pro detailed just a OCD guy that loves keep his family’s cars clean so spending the money on water purifiers is practical

      I have a water softener system at home and have zero water spotting issues. Clean water always helps.

    Hey Pan! Loved the video. Been a fan of TLC since you first showed them here. I’m currently using TLC2, the last soap, and iron off. Would love for TLC to come out with a rim/tire cleaner. That’s the only thing left really lol.
    I’m also curious, I use Adams Quick Detailer as my topper at the end of my washes. What would Amp give me instead of that?

      More gloss and slickness and a bit more protection

      I swear by AMP man. If you have TLC2 on then just use amp for a quick detail spray and glass spray. AMP is a phenomenal glass cleaner but i mostly use it as a quick detail spray. I try to stay in their line of products because its so good for relatively a good price.

    Nice one Pan .
    I can't get my car inside it's too big , Touareg .
    Any suggestions for using black ice please .

      I wouldn't apply this (or any paint protectant) under 10C. Just pick a day where it doesn't rain, and that the weather is at least 10-15C and you're good.

    Pan, you said to throw away the applicator and the microfiber towel after using the Black Ice. What you do recommend to use for the next application and what towel to use?

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A short nap quality towel like this: amzn.to/2WrbbsD
      And an applicator like this: amzn.to/3mBda8B

      Why do they need to be thrown out? Are they toxic?
      Why can’t I reuse them for the next coat?

    Hi Pan....enjoy your video’s and your detail to details....how does this compare or stand up to any others ceramics you have used...and having no access to a garage...can I apply first thing in the morning and have it sit for 10-12 hours in the shade and still have a risk of water spots the surface. Thank you for your time when and if you answer.
    Butch

      Thanks for the feedback Butch! You will soon see how it stacks up in my rankings, as my 2020 car detailing products awards video will be coming out next Saturday, September 12, at 8am EST. To answer your question, you can apply this outside. Just make sure it's not on a rainy day.

    hey Pan - do you have any thoughts about applying coatings on a new 2020 camry. I just picked up the car and I'm trying to decide which way to go for coatings. What about interior protection? I appreciate your thoughts and anyone else too!

    Great video as always!!.. Been using there products for some time now.. great products!!.. AMP is a great topper for shine and slickness!!.. but the whole line up is getting pricey for the DIY especially if you have a big SUV…The Last Soap is over $40 maybe $50 taxes , shipping etc for I think is 64 ounces !!..if you wash your vehicle every week or every other week this can get pricey!..i like to wash and apply a nice topper and AMP is getting pricey!!..good detail, followed up with Seal and Shine ( proven winner!!) and a good topper for slickness is what i am going to next!
