    AMAZING I love these tactics they are so helpful to my detailing business. Im gonna sell this package to my customer I detail his car every month. LUKE u underestimate optimum hyper polish. I used that stuff and it does like 85% of swirls not 60% u crazy. A one step polish for this car is a perfect amount of correction.👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽 great work bro

    I like how everyone with a real profitable full time detailing business here love it and say this price is perfect but all the people who don't are whining saying it's a $150 job. Funny.

      @user-ue7mw7hg7n 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's because the value of their time is $0. If they're earning 50,000 per day/week/month do you think that person would waste their time applying a ceramic coating? The answer is no, and the person only quoting the price of the ceramic simply isn't worth your time

    I found that I was able to be faster with the claybar when the iron decon was used BEFORE claying. That's the reason why I use chemical before physical decon. But still, your arguments are very good concerning this!

    • @alecwoodard7665
      @alecwoodard7665 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      his argument is non-existent. "I haven't seen empirical evidence, side-by-side, etc"
      You use the easiest means to remove debris FIRST before going to harsher abrasives, simple order of operations: Rinse, Wash, Chemical Decon, Clay, Polish (test spot, if the results are good, continue, if not... compound then polish).
      Logic works.

      You easily can make 75k plus if you can market and upsell inflated and useless services like this kid. Just make sure you’re in an affluent region with an available market. This is a VERY value added dependent service, you MUST be able to communicate well and be a good salesman. If you can do that, you’ll have it made. No need for any real “detailing” skill.
      However, HIGH quality paint correction without F-ing up the paint takes a little skill which can be learned very quickly.

      I’m somewhat in the early stages of this same journey myself. And I was simply curious, how has/did the process go for you since you posted this 2 years ago of working full time for yourself in your detailing business?

    • @timothyskateboards
      @timothyskateboards ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thatkckidd.6563 probably not the answer you were looking for, but I don’t detail at all anymore other than my own vehicles. I was detailing Saturday and Sunday (all day) and working my full time job Monday-Friday which is an extremely physically strenuous job. Long story short I got burnt out but that doesn’t mean your experience will be the same as mine. Make plenty of time for yourself and don’t overwork yourself

    Great. There are always questions you should ask each customer in regards to situations just like this. Ask how they feel about how their paint and car looks right now, it will easily let you know what potential services you can offer. Not everyone needs a lengthy correction and crazy coating, especially if they’re doing tunnel washes all the time. You need to find out how they wash their vehicle and how it’s driven. A weekend driven enthusiast vehicle would most likely want the works, whereas a daily driven tunnel washed vehicle would benefit from a quick polish and simple coating as anything else you’re just throwing money away.

    12:20 i dont know anything about detailing but doing a clay bar first and then the iron remover makes sense to me. What if all the non-iron particles are physically preventing iron from coming up? Clay bar gets as much stuff out as physically possible. And then once all that stuff is out of the way - its time for chemical.
    Makes perfect sense to me, unless the iron stuff doesnt wipe off or requires claybar after anyways

    So i just want to say I really enjoy your content and it is really helping me start my own business in detailing. One day I would love to be on your level but I understand that takes time. With me starting out what is the best way i can market my business and what equipment and product do I need to start out just until I make enough to get more. I already have some store bought product and a shop vac that I used on my car and got the job done. I just don't want to break the bank just to start. So whatever advice or non super expensive equipment and product you recommend I would greatly appreciate it. Also im charging 100 to 150 a detail just wondering if that is to low because of the value I offer. I do apologize for the book im writing but just trying to learn the best way I can .

I think it’s a great idea and solution and a great money maker for the average customer. Great job. One note-you said you’re using “bead maker” to clean the wheels and wheel wells but I think you meant brake buster judging from the color. (Had to go back and look lol). That is what you meant right? I’m knew to this level of detailing (on personal stuff) and just trying to learn if you’re doing something out of the box! Thanks!

      Tim Walker either way, this is a rip for what was done. NO detailer is worth $90 bucks an hour. This is unskilled labor. That statement is qualified by the fact that no specific training or qualification is needed to be able to describe yourself as a “professional” detailer and provide this service. Any Joe Shmo can do this, with a minimal investment.
      Guarantee I could do this job with harbor freight tools and products and 99% of customers would never be able to tell the difference. Why? Because 99% of people are ignorant about this stuff. All they need to see is SHINY! And any defects or shortcomings can be blamed on environmental condition or whatever.

    It's kinda funny that people today think silicone/ceramics are new. Just look at Nu Finish, they were like the original ceramic coat, it only sucked and can cause damage due to the large amount of heavy solvents in it. The tech is better, especially for paint, but it's totally not new. I see this video is a year old but there were quite a few silicone/ceramic based trim coatings around at the time. Years ago, people used to talk bad about silicones. They called them cheap and used to claim they would damage everything from tires to car paint to dash boards. They avoided it. Pretty sure that's why they started calling them "ceramics!" The carriers were the damaging aspect, not the silicone. The carriers were usually solvents that browned tires or cracked vinyl. My favorite tire dressing is Meguiars All Season. It has a decent dimethylsiloxane content, and I treat it like a ceramic coat since a little goes a very long way. I dribble it around a tire instead of spray, and work in with an applicator. For trim, I apply 2 or 3 thin coats and Ive seen it last close to a year. It will, like you said, leave patches on severely faded, chalky, porous trim, but 1 or 2 more coats on the parts that drank it up usually fixes it. A gallon of the stuff lasts me literally forever since I only use like 10ml for tires, and I use it on every customer car unless they specifically state they would prefer a water based tire dressing. That said, technicians choice makes a pigmented ceramic coat for rubber, vinyl, and plastic. It's like $15 -$25 for 2oz, and doesn't leave those "high spots" or streaks mentioned. Check it out!

    How well does that black ice coating work? I really enjoy TLC2 and Amp. My only issue is I don't have a garage to keep my truck in to do black ice or other ceramics. Northeast Ohio it's hard to get cure time without rain...

    • @alecwoodard7665
      @alecwoodard7665 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      it's just a spray sealant. Use TW Ice Seal and Shine for the same result from a $10 product

    • @thetacticalape8852
      @thetacticalape8852 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alecwoodard7665 I have to say TLC2 has done a fantastic job on my truck. I have been using since the new formula came out, literally 2 applications and still beads and repels water like crazy. I do a foam cannon wash about every 3 weeks if not more frequently. I use AMP every couple of washes to give a little extra shine and it works great as a drying aid. I hear the original formula was not so good but second one pretty awesome.

      I've been following Luke for 2 years. Extremely disappointed how he's been communicating his views in the last few videos. It should about value and customer satisfaction much more than price and profit. The former ensures the latter. And calling a Santa Fe an entry level car shows he's lost it. Still hope he will get the point, eventually.

    • @marcoaguilera04
      @marcoaguilera04 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree youre paying for the service and overall product, however he shouldnt have cheaped out with half a bottle of inexpensive spray "ceramic coating" He shouldve just used a real ceramic, I doubt it took the full 6 hours if he just did a one step polish.

      do you mean water spots?
      1. Don't wash a car in direct sun if you can avoid it.
      2. Use a better soap like Adams
      3. Even better, use ONR
      4. Wash, rinse, and dry the car in sections. It may take longer, but you won't get spotting

    I'm wondering why dogging someone's choice of vehicle is appropriate for this video? There are ways the product and application can be explained without shaming people for the type of car the drive or can "afford."

    • @alisonaussie4995
      @alisonaussie4995 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      M’Lea Sutherlin I found it hilarious, I drive a Hyundai ix35, it has a beautiful metallic green paint job, it’s my daily driver, it’s my beautiful escape, it’s my fun road trips and it’s awesome. It’s a really great car, I am very reluctant to upgrade because it’s just such a great car. I detail my own cars, my Mother was a professional detailer employed by a car dealership when I was growing up, it was old school there everything was done right. My dream car isn’t the same as anyone else’s and I don’t mind if anyone thinks my car is inferior, they don’t drive and enjoy it everyday. Bloke in the video isn’t really putting down those cars or drivers, just profiling his target market as a business salesman. It’s probably true for him that higher value cars have richer owners more willing to part with their hard earned dollars for his work which he talks up as “skill” but I can personally tell you, car detailing is just basic product and method knowledge combined with hard grind physical work, actually exhausting work.
