@@MrPossumeyes it really is. And has my gears turning. I have been wanting to design firearms and own a firearm store/ range for a while now. And once I finally get my license then go to school I will make them see how they work.
I had absolutely no desire to own a CP33... until now. Between this and Forgotten Weapons (who sent me here), I want to play around with this idea. Thank you, for thinking outside the box!
Came direct to you courtesy of Ian at Forgotten Weapons when he and Rhett introduced me to the cheek concept. I've noticed the .22LR is finally coming back after languishing for years. It's about time. It's a good round and as you say, out to 50-75 yards plenty adequate. I was also impressed with how well it was suppressed in the last shooting demo. That thing in the dark with night vision and plenty of movement by the operator would be terrifying. I thumbsed and sub'd because I genuinely want see where this concept goes. Good luck. Best from Canada
I have a CP 33 Kel-Tek that I bought two months ago. What I did was I got the 3D printed parts from Boggaloo. I also added a Ghost Viper red/green dot on a 45 right hand off set. I also put on a 5" m-16 /GAU muzzle brake. With this setup I was able to get a great welt with out cutting my cheek on the parts. It handles great. The muzzle brake gave great balance to the gun and kept my hand away from the muzzle. Took it too the range and after sight-in I proceeded to shoot 1/3" groups supported. Then I sat back in the range chair, I shot a 25 round in 30 seconds off hand unsupported getting a 3/4" in the black. Very good for a 65 year old AF vet. Wile I was there I had about 12 people plus 2 range officers look it over and drool all over it. They asked questions about it too. (PS) Had to scrub down the gun. This set-up would work for disabled vets that would like to shoot targets or hunt small game with. What do you think?
Ian from Forgotten Weapons sent me. Great innovation. Now Keltec needs to make a 9mm you can do this with. This is what we needed new Ideas on shooting positions.
Cool stuff. I might buy a CP33 just to play with this concept but UNTIL then, I've pulled out my Ruger Charger 22 takedown....it has a Copper Custom buffer tube adapter on the back of it which could serve well as a dummy buffer attachment point for the cheek weld and even be shortened if wanted/needed. The charger has a 10" barrel so maybe a little front heavy and a little too long but it's close to going in the right 'cheek weld' direction. I like your thinking on this stuff.
I'm glad TH-cam did good for once and recommended this video straight from Forgotten Weapons. I had to see the progenitor of this concept in action. Is CP33 seriously the only pistol capable of style? I haven't been more fascinated in a long while lol.
I just picked one up today. Can’t wait to get it set up. Already put a strike industries comp on it that I had in my miscellaneous cabinet of random AR parts. Perfect fit and weight. We will see how it performs. Dot, mount and sling next. Thank you for your videos.
saw a vid on forgotten weapons, love the innovation and I can honestly say WOW!! I can see this becoming big ,so get that sling on the market as i reckon you will be able to sell a few hey ,oh and well done mate .
Would you say the overall size contributes to how well it handles in that configuration? Do you think an Uzi Pro or TP9 would behave similarly if set up similarly (accounting for the upscale)? Only examples I can think of off the top of my head that has a similar form factor, assuming that the magazine placement is also a factor.
It would be cool to see if you could 3Dprint a custom spacer for between the trigger guard and your light that also had some kind of palm brace integrated into it to give your left hand a full purchase on the front, although its completely not necessary.
what about a Keltec P50? stay with me - So some kind of 3D printed brass deflector that mounts on the last few picatinny that would stretch over the ejection port (L or R version, or flippable?) which doubles as a cheek rest extension of sorts - Then optic mount as usual and same firing technique you could probably even get a light on the top pic rail and a pressure switch somewhere on top
At first I thought this was a joke, but then I remembered where the charging handle is. This is a very interesting idea. Or one of those hard(but softish) plastic pull tabs. Interesting....
I am not a gun guy, but your technique looks a lot like using those old WW1 pistols with the tiny shoulder stocks. Holds the pistol stable, closer to your head.

Hello sorry what you say to a 380, 25 auto, or 9mm that you can do this technique with it. I have a few concepts that could actually work for this. I dont have the equipment to build guns right now or the license but I have ideas and I have had a passion for guns since I was 4 and in the last almost 24 years. It would give plenty of room for your front hand, you would be able to really customize it. And with rounds like the 380 or 25 auto it would have very little recoil. 9mm would have more but your getting more power.

neat!
Do you ever put foam or something on a cover for comfort? Considered a deflector on p50?
Question, what made you decide to go with this vs the Ruger 10/22 charger?
I’ve had bad luck with 10/22 reliability. It’s too big. I don’t like the magazine design.
I’m sure other people have mentioned it, but wouldn’t this technique work great with the b&t tp9?
Is there a way to adapt this technique for a left handed shooter?
Yes. More to come on that.
Use your mouth as a brass catcher, keeps the fudds from gobbling up your spent brass on the range
Is there a 22 mag option ?
How is reliability with you KelTec "CP33"?
Any thoughts on the new Keltec P50 for this application?
