    They have now moved the end of production to July is what my dealer was telling me yesterday. I run 2 of these in my lawn care business and I love them.

    Thanks for posting. I searched all over the country and just found an HRX217HYA two hours away from where I live so I will pick up this week. I'm only buying it because I just found out Honda is discontinuing production of their mowers. I have a 14-year-old HRX217TDA which has been bullet proof, only one or two repairs over thousands of hours of heavy use.

    The blade handle on mine I use a Velcro strap made for electrical extension cords that stays attached to the main handle and then I twirl it around the blade clutch handle to where it is stationary. This way all I have to contend with is the drive handle, so much easier in moving the mower on turns and going forward. If I have to disconnect the grass catcher, just unwrap the Velcro for the blade clutch handle. I use nothing but premium gasoline as it contains more detergent to clean the carb plus the use Mobil One oil for the engine. Worked well in my old John Deere JX75 for 25 years and still does. I have exactly the same model for over two years now, works fine !

    That's the first I've ever heard of thermal wax for the auto choke.. Thanks for uploading the video.

      Don't believe the thermowax crap. First check to see if the choke is working. If it is working there is nothing wrong with the thermowax. This guy has got a mental hangup on thermowaxs on Hondas.

    My HYA self propel was slow since purchase at end of last season. Adjusted the cable this morning, and all is good!

    I’ve had mine just over 2yrs and not had any issues. I just wish there were attachments for the rear bag area

    So a family member owns one I don't, and the blades are not engaging so I am trying to research to discover why but haven't found an answer yet, have you had this issue or would know a possible diagnosis?

    • @appleztooranges
      @appleztooranges  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s weird, may be the clip not engaging or a spring

    Be on the look out for Nexite staining with the gasoline drops and spills. There is a materials incompatibility problem, so you'll get a spotting on the deck if/when any gasoline gets spilled out onto the deck. I'm going to wait until the end of the 4th season to get it looked at for a new deck.
    My hydrostatic transmission also has been a 'groaner' since day one- tempted to tackle changing out the fluid - not really wanting to deal with take it to a dealer for mediocre and slow service.
    Purchased legit from Home Depot...but it wasn't adjusted the way it would have been from a dealer.

      I had the gasoline stain too. I wiped it with pb blaster and seemed to work okay.

      Hey I just rewatched. I’m basically talking about the hydrostatic system and how it was super slow. You need two wrenches to fix this 🔧. I have a video showing this.

    Zach, if you had bought your mower from a local dealer instead of off the internet all these things would have been checked out and adjusted before delivering it to you. Why didn't you call Mowers Direct and get them to service your mower where you bought it? You get what you pay for. You got a good price but you didn't get any service support.

    • @appleztooranges
      @appleztooranges  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nobody had this mower in my area. The dealer took it in and it took them not just once to fix the leak of the overhead valve. These mowers are not made like they use to be in terms of “quality”. I’d be lucky to get 10 years out of this
