    I would really like to learn how you figure out if you need a horizontal or verticle seam in the backing. Maybe Natalie could do a final stitch episode about that.

    • @jenelks1495
      @jenelks1495 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! I agree, there are very few videos about backings.

    • @JenniferLee273
      @JenniferLee273 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes! I’ve made three quilt tops and I’m so afraid I’m going to cut and sew the backings wrong that I still have nothing more than three unfinished quilts. There are very few videos on TH-cam regarding backings. So many of them give directions assuming you know a lot of information and don’t show very much.

    • @jenelks1495

      @@JenniferLee273 yes! I have several quilt tops too and they aren't finished for the very same reason!

      Robert Kaufman has a great app you can download for Quilting Calculations…just plug in your dimensions and it will figure out your yardage for backing, borders and binding…works great!

      As a longarm quilter I prefer horizontal seams on the back.

    The creativity in the room with the three of you is astounding! The triple play video is always a must see for me. Not a thing wrong with just putting borders on panels, they are great, but WOW!!Natalie your take on the panel is amazing and it is completely doable for any level quilter. For me, that is very much appreciated. Again, today’s video gave us three great quilts. Can’t choose? Just make all three!!😁

    Natalie, you’ve given us a whole new way of looking at panels. Ordinarily, I pass them up because I can’t think of anything different to do with them beyond the tired old “sash-and-border” quilt. But your idea to fussy cut the elements is simply brilliant. Thank you!

    Loved all 3 quilts. My great grandmother was also called Etta. It was short for Hettie. Her grandmother and several ancestors were named Mehitable. Etta is much better..

    I love your Triple Play videos. You are all three so creative. But, seriously, this time you couldn't seem to stop talking over each other. Really? Usually you are so respectful of each other's ideas and time. I'm guessing there was something else going on with your lives. Hopefully you get back to your pleasant, polite selves.

    Oh my! I'm like most-Natalie's version of using a panel would be so fun for a kid's quilt. Jenny's version-wow-the possibilities!! I made my youngest granddaughter who is now 6 a quilt I think when she was 2 sorta using Jenny's method-just smaller triangles. I have several pieced triangles left & have been trying to decide what to make with them & I probably could do a smaller version of the table runner! Or make mug rugs :) And of course Misty's version of her Great, Great Grandmother's is just gorgeous!
    Thanks as always for all you do!!

I’m presently using 9 of the NP panels to make a quilt celebrating our travels to these spectacular places. However, I very much appreciate Jenny’s, Misty’s, and Natalie’s individual choices. Thank you all, I wouldn’t miss your videos.
