Even if I look at this just from knowing the nature of God, I would say this, if God is all knowing, why would he give his Holy Spirit to someone and then later take it away from them? That would be like saying God can't see into the future.

Chuck Smith of calvary chapel used to say abide in Christ and you can know your eternally secure. The problem with that is that it depends on your abiding and not trusting in what God has said.
Thank you, pastor Jesse...for being so clear on the gospel... this man/pastor is so confused so many preachers are... and we know who the deceiver behind all of this is... God bless you and your ministry.
So the serpent in the garden was telling the truth? "You won't surely die." Is a tale as old as time. So what's this "second death" Jesus is speaking of in Revelation for the disobedient?
Christina, the “ye shall not surely die” was a true statement in that they didn’t die physically the moment they ate the fruit. They died spiritually. The second death is for those who never believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior. If you believe, you receive eternal life, and you are declared righteous. @@NikoFinn Amen and amen, brother. As long as we are still in this sin stained, corrupt world, our old fleshly nature will always rise up against our new man, our born again seed. Playing " whack a mole " with our old nature (Paul spoke of this in Romans 7, vs. 8 - 25). We will wrestle with this conflict til we leave this world. Nearly everyday at evening, I just look to the north sky, asking the Lord whether this might be the day, or " maybe tomorrow ", when He's coming back, because He IS coming soon. Just " looking for that Blessed Hope " (Titus 2:13).
Thanks for standing for the truth! I can't believe someone would say yes and no to that question, Lord have mercy. It's so sad we live in such a gobbaligook, hodgepodge, mixed up Christian society, and this is the result of it. People go to a solid Bible believing church, and someone walks in with their MacArthur study Bible and wonder why they start believing things that aren't in the Bible. Just get a KJB with no study notes, maybe a cross reference, and read the Bible. Thanks again...
@@BibleLine hey Trent I’m not sure I’ll make Sunday mornings service (Aug 6th) because my flight arrives at 1am on Sunday morning but will you, Jesse or Yankee Arnold be there that Sunday evening or the following Wednesday evening service? Thanks!
Hey there! Can you send this question to our email? Then we can get a proper answer and make a video about it. Plus that keeps us organized, and I don’t have to track down comments. Thank you - Trent
Thank you, i recently foumd your channel and I really like it and you do am excellent job bringing just what the bible says. So many channels out there these days that over complicate the bible and the gospel. Plus, i agree with your stance on Christian doctrine. Its not reformed or Calvanistic.
It'd be nice to have a pastor expand on salvation, and how to know if you were called to simply be in fellowship, or whether one is called into discipleship, then ministry and eldership,
Thank you Pastor Jesse, I may be wrong, but how he is teaching the bible. Seems to be a perfect example of not rightly dividing the scriptures. Paul warns us of this type of reasoning.
Another thing about the parable of the sower, Jesus specified the only unsaved soil. The wayside soil with hardened hearts against the word and the enemy comes as birds to eat the seed of the word out of their hearts *lest they believe and be saved.* The next two soils are, as you said, about reasons a believer won't bear fruit, then finally the soil that is both saved and bears fruit for the Lord.
I think Luke 8:18 is the key to unlocking the meaning behind the parables in Luke 8= take heed to how you hear. The question to reflect on might be: what did you do with what you heard? Verse 15 is the example Jesus wants. Fruitful disciples (v. 15), responsibly shining the light of the gospel for the lost man to see (v. 16), and serving the Lord through obedience to His word (v. 21). If you pay attention to how you hear your understanding will increase (v. 18) and you will be able to do more for the Lord.
That’s a good point! The parable of the seed and sower should be abundantly clear because Jesus explains it. Nevertheless, few seem to hear it the right way. - Trent
Mike Novotny is a professor at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. He is obviously not coming from a position of Free Grace. Interesting points discussed. Great teaching on eternal security! Thanks Pastor Jesse!
So in other words, salvation is conditional on our performance? Sheep wander (unfortunately), but just because the sheep gets lost doesn't make that sheep any less the property of the shepherd. He comes after His sheep because He's the good shepherd. This is why Jesus says His yoke is easy and His burden is light and also that narrow is the way. Trusting Him and only Him is how we obtain salvation. Obeying Him and following in other ways like putting off the old man and putting on the new man is how we can grow and reap blessings additional to salvation which is a free gift as Paul describes it.
Great job rightly dividing the word truth Bibleline. That is what these people fail to do and they end up with empty words that just confuse. What Mike should say is no , yes, I really don’t know thanks for letting me confuse you more.
Society has negatively impacted her worldview, Seems as if she wants to understand but is rebellious because of the world's influence. God bless and hopefully God will set her straight.
Bibleline is a Great 👍🏻 always Love ❤️ Them. Come out of the common False Churches and listen to Bibleline Amen 🙏 Any church that has You being co savior is a False Church. It’s All Jesus and His Finished work not Your Works. Once that clicks You will know You are Saved. Trust God not Yourself. We are Filthy rags in the Flesh. We are not "Adopted" into the Family of God like Mike Novortny said. We are Full Blooded Sons of God. Once a Son of God, Always a Son of God. 1 John 3:2 King James Version 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
I love your videos and they’ve helped me a ton… but for the first time. I just am not sure I can figure out how the parable of the sower doesn’t mean falling away, apostasy and no longer accepting Jesus… I don’t understand how someone can live in rejection of Christ after accepting him and still be saved after they reject the gift? Or that a Christian wouldn’t produce even a single good work?
I can never be unborn again. The Holy Spirit has put me into Christ and I can never be taking out I can't even take myself out. I am a new creature in Christ. I am one of his sheep that he died for. To all free willers who believe they can't loose their salvation. Do you loose your free will when you get saved? Ex Arminian Calvinist.
Calvinist here, I know we have disagreements brother, but I and those in the reformed faith fully believe a Christian can't lose their salvation. If our salvation is tied up in something and someone outside of ourselves, how can we lose it?
God's word says Obey and receive blessings Disobey and receive consequences Can saved person or child of God obey God for blessings rather than obey God based on love? Pastor.. Is it correct motivation?
Love is probably the best motivation, but God absolutely wants to reward and bless you. If that is the motivator in your life, that is okay. If souls are getting saved, then praise the Lord no matter the initial motivator. Nevertheless, love will probably cause you to do more for the Lord. If you love, then you won’t do wrong toward another person. When you’re loving, you’re thinking about others. When you’re loving, you’re more willing to share the gospel. - Trent
Thank you pastor Jesse. Corrupted version = corrupted message, though there are many out there with KJV with a false message also. Good videos, learn the truth of the Word in correct context, while being made aware of these wolves. Thanks, God bless bro.
Oh and how subtle they can be, sound intelligent to those who may be deceived. At the end of the day what these wolves always come back to is..... WORKS, trust in yourself not Jesus alone.
Tough questions. Jesus said to one church repent or he will blot them out of the book of life. But then psalm 89 says if we fall into sin we will get the rod but never lose his spirit/loving kindness. Adultery with other gods may be the only way. Apostacy.
What does… “ living in sin” mean? We all know that nobody can never stop sinning. So how can anybody never not live in sin? Lol. Man… vague terms like that really get me fired up!
In my decades of teaching, church attendance, and eldership experience those that believe in the possibility of forfeiting salvation seldom if ever (I don’t remember one) do a contrast and comparison with the Bible verses in context. For years it was a subtle teaching, implied through focused messaging but not taught in a sermon. If it was true it should be the top priority but seldom is it taken on. The video here was not a contrast and comparison but was intentionally crafted to get to the yes you can lose it. The idea you are going to have to mislead someone because of their weak faith is awful. Truth will set you free not pastorship. Positive + negative = ?
Mike Novotny is bad, just bad. I taught Attic and Koine Greek to classics students in Europe for 25 years. The ancient Greeks used the imperative mood a lot, but it wasn't always a command. In English it is. But Koine Greek isn't English. We do not command God to give us our daily bread. When Paul tells us to "be anxious for nothing," it is not a command. If it was a command, then David's cries to God in the Psalms, reavealing all his pain and anguish, was sinful. Novotny claims that being anxious is sinful. He is wrong.
He sounds like a Churc of Christ denomination pastor. They believe that baptism is what brings salvation. A little different soteriology than what i believe.
At first, Luther was free grace and even said to sin some more to show how free the gift is. Later, he went to the other extreme and condemned antinomians! As much good as he did in breaking the darkness of Roman Catholicism, he ended up with a confusing theology as in the book of Concord which even teaches predestination, yet won’t allow for the preservation or even perseverance of the saints! At least he made a start I guess. Pastor Mike’s comments reflect this contradictory theology! I have descended from Lutheran families and have had great Lutheran friends and hope they only seriously take Luther’s words from his first moment of salvation and watch great videos like this one!
That's such a travesty. He gives a telling comment of where is mind is at with that girl. "Jesus can slip thru your fingers" No! It's not us holding on to God, It's literally God holding on to us. "My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand." - John 10:29. It's also evident that Mike doesn't understand what Jesus paid for. It wasn't just past sins. It was our future sins. When Jesus died, all of our sins were future sins. Next week when my wife gets fed up of my corny jokes and pushes me down the stairs, is that sin paid for? Yes!! If a believer falls away and starts living like the devil, is that sin paid for? Yes!!! And if we think we need another payment for sin, it's the same as saying Jesus' precious sacrifice wasn't good enough. That's the reference to the open shame. Mike, I hope you read this. All that works discipleship stuff has to do with earning rewards and if we fail to do what's right, we lose rewards. The payment for sin isn't works, it's death with blood being shed, which Jesus did for everyone. That's how I can know right now I'm going to Heaven. Jesus already paid for all my sins for all time. That free gift is available to you too. Just believe he did that for you. Simple.
Sadly this past. Mike is a lordshipper that doesnt understand Grace and simple faith in The Finished Work of Jesus on the cross. Like you said, he's a tool (fool) in satans hand to keep people unsaved.
I dont like on the fence people I can respect someone who is wrong but they stand there ground but this whishy washy stuff is for the birds he's (mike) just confusing the people!
That is right. We need absolute standing on biblical matters. If you don't know then don't say anything but this maybe, yes and no stuff makes people confused
Just unsaved. If you're truly saved, you know it, he isn't sure, still confused. It's a simple root problem...failure to rightly divide the Word of Truth. Going to be the cause of most people going to hell. Sorry to sound negative but it's actually just fact.
Oh, and news flash, John isn't the doctrine for the body of Christ. Read Pauls epistles people, read! Have you ever read the verse where Paul writes "follow me! As I follow Christ"! Jesus told Paul what to tell us people, Paul's epistles are our doctrine for today. You cannot mix the Gospels of Jesus earthly ministry with the mystery revealed to Paul. There's no salvation there.
You’re right in that we should separate the church from OT aspects such as distinguishing promises made to Israel and the Jews. Nevertheless, Jesus made salvation plain such as in John 3:15-18, 5:24, 6:37-40, 7:37-39, etc… - Trent
@@BibleLine thanks for the response. Can you show me in any of those verses where the cross is? The shedding of Jesus blood? His resurrection? Justification by faith? You need to remember that Jesus was saying these things to Jews under the Law. These people were supposed to receive Him as their Messiah, that's why Jesus spoke that way in those verses. I'm sorry but the book of John is not our doctrine. It's amazing to read and get an understanding of the nature of God and learn about our Savior but Noone can be saved by the Gospels because the Gospel is not found anywhere in them. I'd like to ask you these questions and I don't expect a reply, just something to really consider: 1. Is it enough to just "believe in Jesus" 2. Where in those verses does it tell me what I must believe about Him because I know a lot of unsaved people who believe a man named Jesus lived 2000 years ago. 2. Why does Peter say repent and be baptized? But Paul says Christ sent me NOT to baptize? 3. Why does Peter rebuke Jesus when Jesus said "I must go and suffer many things and then I must die" etc. Jesus even calls him Satan. Peter rebukes the Jews for killing their Messiah, remember? But! Paul preaches the death of Christ as good news for us. You can't explain that away. 4. IF the Jews would've received Jesus as their Messiah, we wouldn't even be here now. Jesus would've been their King and the Kingdom would've come, but they rejected Him. 5. Keeping in mind that "Gospel" just means Good News, there are more than one Gospel in the Bible. For eg. Noah preached that God will flood the earth and whoever gets on the ark will be saved. When the Israelites were in the wilderness and spoke again Moses and God, God sent poisonous serpents amongst them. But, He said to Moses make a bronze serpent and "whosoever is bitten can look at it and live" (foreshadow of Christ). - very important because Paul uses this story about the snakes as a direct parallel to Jesus dying for us and rising again. These people were baptized and circumcised under the Law. John the Baptist preached the baptism of repentance FOR the forgiveness of sins and did so around the region of Jordan. Why? Because the verse says there was a lot of water there,so we know this was actual water baptism and not the baptism Paul speaks about (by The Spirit). Peter preached "repent! AND be baptised EVERY ONE OF YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS FOR THE REMISSION OF SINS AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT. Question: does Paul say we must be baptised to be forgiven and to get the Holy Spirit? No he doesn't, he actually says Christ sent me NOT to baptize. So then after Stephen gets stoned to death, God basically said right that's it, you reject my Son, now I go to the Gentiles, cue Paul and his meeting with Jesus on the road to Damascus, Jesus calls Paul a chosen vessel unto Me. (if Jesus said everything during His earthly ministry, why did He have to appear afterwards to Paul? Because He had information for us that was not known by anyone, not the Prophets or the disciples....this is why Paul uses phrases like "by MY Gospel", "In me FIRST", "Follow me as I follow Christ". Then there's the future Gospel in Revelation 14:6-7. Then I saw an another angel flying in th midst of heaven having the everlasting Gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, every nation, kindred, tongue and people. He said in a loud voice "Fear God and give Him glory, for the hour of His Judgement has come, worship the One having made heaven and the earth, Sea and springs of water etc (Not our message today). There are many more examples I can give but they're all right there in your Bible. There's so much more to rightly dividing that just separating the OT and NT. We are not under a covenant, we are under grace. We are not under Law but under Grace. The list of ordinances that was against us was nailed to the cross, the people in Matt, Mark, Luke and John never had this. We are sealed by the Holy Spirit. Remember David prayed saying please Lord don't take your Spirit from me. Why? Because they weren't sealed back then. We can't lose the Holy Spirit. Paul was a blasphemer, he blasphemed the Holy Spirit. Doesn't Jesus say there will be no forgiveness for the one who does that? But Jesus showing grace to Paul, would remove that covenant from him, save him by grace through faith in His death, burial and resurrection because ALL sins will be forgiven Paul wrote. Anyway, the way a person is saved today is only found in Paul's epistles, clearly mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15 VS 1-4 as the Gospel that saves. All it takes is reading to realize, hold on, God is doing something different now. He is dispensing grace, and ALL who believe THAT Jesus died for their sin, that He was buried and rose again the third day, will be saved right then and there forever. Period.
Okay, so I’m slightly laughing because the last paragraph you make salvation clear. Salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone plus nothing else (yes, in his death, burial and resurrection for the full payment of our sin). We arent crossless gospel, hyper-dispensationalists, or covenant theology in our view. We adhere to the scriptural teaching of Dispensationalism. I love your use of 1 Cor. 15:3-4. I get the idea that you believe people were saved different ways in different time periods which is just odd. Jesus died for all sin of all time, and that is recorded from Genesis to Revelation. Abraham believed (Gen 15:6) and Jesus calls on all to drink of the water of life freely in Revelation 22. John writes clearly the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus for the full payment of our sin. Paul, Peter, James and John all had the same gospel, but for some reason you are hung up on a scripture like Acts 2:38. Repent = change of mind here. The Jews needed to change their mind about Jesus. The baptism was to be in recognition with Jesus Christ (water baptism is an identifier, not a saving factor). Spirit baptism is what happens when a person believes (1 Cor. 12:13, Eph. 1:12-14, 4:30). Acts 15 shows the church being in agreement with Paul. Galatians sheds light on this. Regardless, the whole of scripture points to faith alone in Christ alone for salvation. Yes Isaiah didn’t know near what Paul knew, but he knew enough to write chapter 53. The very name Jesus (God who saves) paired with his title Christ (Messiah, anointed one) gave the Jews enough details. This is why they called him a blasphemer. He preached his payment of sin to them, and they understood it vividly, but many of the Jews rejected him. A man named Nicodemus accepted him as his Savior… John 3 is enough to get the gospel across. Obviously Paul sheds great light and detail on the matter, but as he stated in Gal. 2:21; we don’t frustrate the gospel. Again, we must provide enough detail for the person to understand who Jesus is and why to believe in him. Yes faith alone in Jesus Christ saves. Cf Gal. 2:16, Romans 3:24-38, Eph. 2:8-9, Phil. 3:9, and Romans 4:5. - Trent
@@BibleLine firstly, the Bible is clear Jesus was crucified, on a Roman cross so there I find it odd you have a "crossless Gospel", it doesn't matter how He died, the point is He did and she'd His blood for us. If the Gospel was the same for all time, tell me, like I asked you to address before, why did Peter rebuke Jesus when He said I must go and die, if Peter knew Jesus must die because that was the Gospel. Don't think because you have a channel on TH-cam that nobody can teach you anything. Being Unteachable is a form of pride. Show me one person who mentions that the death of the Messiah is the means for salvation besides Paul. Have you ever read Ephesians 3? Nobody knew about the actual full plan of salvation until it was revealed to Paul. Nobody knew how God could save sinners, they just knew that if they trusted what He said, He'd save them. But now, the entire mystery is revealed to Paul by Jesus and we know that it's through His death, burial and resurrection that God can save a man, by punishing His Son in our place. BY the way, we are not in a covenant, we are in the body of Christ. Eph 3:2 - Is given ME to youward Eph 3:3 - by revelation He made know unto ME the mystery Eph 3 :4 - YE may understand MY knowledge in the mystery Eph 3:5 - (take note of this one) WHICH IN OTHER AGES WAS NOT MADE KNOWN UNTO *THE SONS OF MEN Eph 3:9 - Make all men see the fellowship of the mystery, which FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE WORLD HAS BEEN HID in GOD. Also this verse 1 Timothy 1:16 - howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that IN ME FIRST Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering FOR A PATTERN to them WHO SHOULD BELIEVE HEREAFTER on him unto everlasting life. Do you notice the language? Something new, in me first, a pattern, from hereafter? I'm sorry but I've studied this book and I've gone through years of heartache and anxiety to get to where I am today by the grace of God because He has made known to me through Paul's writings that we have been given something so much better and that the books outside of Paul's letters are Not for out use as doctrine today in the body of Christ. We should read them but there is a cast contrast in the doctrines and the message that Paul brings to the table.
Oh goodness. I didn’t realize that my comment said “we are.” I meant to type “we aren’t” crossless gospel, etc…. The whole was trying to show you we probably agree more than you think… - Trent
You liar. Acts says God purifies our hearts by heart's faith in Christ Jesus ALONE. And Jesus is the narrow path, not Jesus AND our works of obedience. Besides, obeying the Gospel means believing it: Romans 10. Acts 4 says God gives Holy Spirit to those who obey Him. Scripture with Scripture believe the Gospel and you get Holy Spirit since you obeyed the Gospel. James 2 demons is about them KNOWING who Jesus and God is. You have a heretical false dichotomy: knowing God's existence and what He is like or then go into faith PLUS works. Matthew 7 talks about people like you who think their works are the thing that gets them access to heaven. Jesus said He never knew them. So they never believed in Him. Father's will for salvation is in John 6, to BELIEVE in Jesus Christ, not Jesus AND behave perfectly in all thoughts, words and deeds. So sit down and stop spewing you heresies here. May God open your eyes
How are we able to show forth pure hearted obedience? We must first believe in Jesus Christ. Faith -> Spirit -> obedience. The demons don’t have their sin paid for… The point is telling believers to get to work in lieu of the fact that even the demons are busy… they know their end. The works don’t save that believer though; his faith did (from hell). Works save us from judgment here on earth as well as at the judgment seat of Christ. (Cf 1 Cor. 3:11-16) - Trent
@@BibleLine are these not believers in Matthew 7? They are calling Jesus "Lord, Lord" “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Once saved, always saved is a lie and yet you share it. I don't understand why set people up when its not true?
The people in Matthew 7 are not believers; that’s the point. The focus shouldn’t be on “Lord, Lord,” because saying “Lord” doesn’t save anyone. Trusting in Jesus Christ is what saves. He’s already Lord regardless if you call him Lord. The focus is on the fact that these people have “many wonderful works…” They work iniquity because they do not have the Spirit. How do we receive the Spirit? By faith in Jesus Christ; Ephesians 1:12-14, 4:30. We aren’t saved by a practicing of obedience… we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Obedience is then possible for the believer. Please consider this. And to your question; there is plenty of scriptural evidence to support OSAS. - Trent
@@BibleLine how are they not believers? They call Jesus "Lord" and do miracles in his name You can not believe any harder than that. The only difference is obedience to the commandments or not. The faithless are only one of the people on Jesus' list in Revelation of people who are sure to be in hell "As for the cowardly, the faithless, the polluted, the murderers, the fornicators, the sorcerers, the idolaters, and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death." - Revelation 21:8 You really think none of those people believe in Jesus?
Hebrews wasn't written for the Body of Christ. Again, the Old Testament is ignored and the nation of Israel is treated as if does not exist. Hebrews was written for Jews awaiting Messiah. And when he comes, he will make a "new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the House of Judah." One reason why so many teaches are confused is that they asume that the entire New Testament was written for the Body of Christ. It was not.
Jesus died for all my sin. I believed, so I’m saved. Of course we still sin, but the sin is paid in full. The barrier is removed, and I’ve been redeemed. Two things can be true at the same time… - Trent
@@luxterrae John 8 that is. Also in John 5. You ADD your own interpretation into John 8. Jesus LOVES us. He does not want us to sin for our own sakes. It ain't ALL about judgement. Sin hurts, pains us all. There is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus - Romans 8. And you are false about osas. Ephesians 4:30 says Holy Spirit given until day of redemption. Not until you sin and do not repent. Also, Rev. 3 says those who overcome will not be hurt by second death and their names will not be blotted out of the book of life. 1 John 5 says faith(in Christ)is how you have overcome the world. The moment you have gone from unbelief to faith in Jesus Christ you have overcome the world. Not faith AND stopping all sin. No one on this channel is promoting sin, but if you wanna go into legalism and false gospels then promote this man-centered loss of salvation. Thank you, pastor Jesse...for being so clear on the gospel... this man/pastor is so confused so many preachers are... and we know who the deceiver behind all of this is... God bless you and your ministry.

I have always believed OSAS. I have always known that is what God means by eternal life
So the serpent in the garden was telling the truth?
"You won't surely die." Is a tale as old as time.
So what's this "second death" Jesus is speaking of in Revelation for the disobedient?
@Christina-fw9dz Jesus considers not doing the will of the Father to be disobedience. Which scripture defines as not believing on the one he sent.
Christina, the “ye shall not surely die” was a true statement in that they didn’t die physically the moment they ate the fruit. They died spiritually. The second death is for those who never believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior.
If you believe, you receive eternal life, and you are declared righteous. Cf John 1:12, 3:18, 1 John 5:13 and Gal. 2:16

And the Lord sure will. I am also broken in my own ways but the Lord Jesus Christ helps us both and, bro, in glory we will be 100% whole

Glad you mentioned Luke 8:12 and the fact that it says "believe and be saved", which to me ends the debate on what that parable means.

Can you lose your salvation? he asks, No and Yes. God is not the author of confusion! If that's not confusing, I don't know what is.⚠️☝️🙏☝️🕊️💯
I might be wrong but it almost felt like he enjoyed saying "no. . . Yes". He must know the confusion and fear this will make people feel. 😢
Thank you Pastor Jesse, I may be wrong, but how he is teaching the bible. Seems to be a perfect example of not rightly dividing the scriptures. Paul warns us of this type of reasoning.
Tnx pastor jesse

Excellent assessment, Tyler.
Mike Novotny is a professor at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. He is obviously not coming from a position of Free Grace. Interesting points discussed. Great teaching on eternal security! Thanks Pastor Jesse!

Very true! His theology is as confusing as the book of Concord!
Notice that not being snatched out of his hand is conditional on following him. If you don’t follow how can you stay in his hand?
Thank you Drew.

We are not "Adopted" into the Family of God like Mike Novortny said. We are Full Blooded Sons of God. Once a Son of God, Always a Son of God.
1 John 3:2
King James Version
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
So what do you think about the LEB version of the Bible?
I love your videos and they’ve helped me a ton… but for the first time. I just am not sure I can figure out how the parable of the sower doesn’t mean falling away, apostasy and no longer accepting Jesus… I don’t understand how someone can live in rejection of Christ after accepting him and still be saved after they reject the gift? Or that a Christian wouldn’t produce even a single good work?
Watch this video I did. We will eventually make specific content on this in the future.

Is it because Christians persevere or are they preserved?
God's word says
Obey and receive blessings
Disobey and receive consequences
Can saved person or child of God obey God for blessings rather than obey God based on love?

In my decades of teaching, church attendance, and eldership experience those that believe in the possibility of forfeiting salvation seldom if ever
(I don’t remember one) do a contrast and comparison with the Bible verses in context.
Right on! We must rightly divide the scriptures. Things that are different are not the same!

He might be. Sad that he is not clear, and we hope he changes his mind. Salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone plus nothing. Thanks
- Trent
That’s right. Thanks Kris.

Simple.
That’s spot on! Thank you.

Agree💯
Nevertheless, Jesus made salvation plain such as in John 3:15-18, 5:24, 6:37-40, 7:37-39, etc…
- Trent
@@BibleLine thanks for the response. Can you show me in any of those verses where the cross is? The shedding of Jesus blood? His resurrection? Justification by faith? You need to remember that Jesus was saying these things to Jews under the Law. These people were supposed to receive Him as their Messiah, that's why Jesus spoke that way in those verses. I'm sorry but the book of John is not our doctrine. It's amazing to read and get an understanding of the nature of God and learn about our Savior but Noone can be saved by the Gospels because the Gospel is not found anywhere in them.
I'd like to ask you these questions and I don't expect a reply, just something to really consider:
1. Is it enough to just "believe in Jesus"
Eph 3:2 - Is given ME to youward
Eph 3:3 - by revelation He made know unto ME the mystery
Eph 3 :4 - YE may understand MY knowledge in the mystery
Eph 3:5 - (take note of this one) WHICH IN OTHER AGES WAS NOT MADE KNOWN UNTO *THE SONS OF MEN
Eph 3:9 - Make all men see the fellowship of the mystery, which FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE WORLD HAS BEEN HID in GOD.
Also this verse
1 Timothy 1:16 - howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that IN ME FIRST Jesus Christ might show forth all long-suffering FOR A PATTERN to them WHO SHOULD BELIEVE HEREAFTER on him unto everlasting life.
The whole was trying to show you we probably agree more than you think…
- Trent
Wow, talk about speaking out of both sides of your mouth
This Mike Novotny is wicked as Hell!
Its a Narrow Path and few find it because it requires pure hearted obedience to God's commandments.
Even the demons know he is the Son of God.
(Cf 1 Cor. 3:11-16)
- Trent
@@BibleLine are these not believers in Matthew 7? They are calling Jesus "Lord, Lord"
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Once saved, always saved is a lie and yet you share it.
The focus is on the fact that these people have “many wonderful works…”
They work iniquity because they do not have the Spirit.
They call Jesus "Lord" and do miracles in his name
You can not believe any harder than that.
The only difference is obedience to the commandments or not.
The faithless are only one of the people on Jesus' list in Revelation of people who are sure to be in hell
"As for the cowardly, the faithless, the polluted, the murderers, the fornicators, the sorcerers, the idolaters, and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."
- Revelation 21:8
You really think none of those people believe in Jesus?
This guy is so close but so far away
Hebrews wasn't written for the Body of Christ. Again, the Old Testament is ignored and the nation of Israel is treated as if does not exist. Hebrews was written for Jews awaiting Messiah. And when he comes, he will make a "new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the House of Judah." One reason why so many teaches are confused is that they asume that the entire New Testament was written for the Body of Christ. It was not.
Yes a person can abandon God and shipwrecked his faith. OSAS is an evil doctrine
