    I tried this on my stainless steel header on my FE350, came out great! Just as vibrant blues, purples, and goldish/bronze as titanium. It reacts a bit differently and colors in a different way but still comes out like titanium

    Very cool. Thanks. I wish I could do my header pipes on my restore of 1975 Honda CB 360t. Tank/side panels/chain guard/points cover all a very nice blue like your pipes. I'd do it but I don't know the composite of metal in a 75 Japanese bike headers are made of so I'll probably just hit it hard on the wheel like I did my forks.

    • @MotoJerg44
      @MotoJerg44  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you man, it technically can turn blue however it won’t be nearly as vibrant, it will turn brown pretty quickly after riding with it, and it will take a hotter temp to reach the blue color. I’ve never done it personally but I’ve read up on turning steel blue and it says it can be done but it won’t be nearly as nice looking. You’re best bet is to get a titanium pipe if you’re looking for a good finish

    • @MotoJerg44
      @MotoJerg44  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it stainless steel or titanium? Did you polish it before trying to color it? No matter the type of metal, it can only get so hot before it is beyond obtaining color. So if it is only glowing red, then it’s either being heated too quickly, or it was not polished enough and it is already beyond the blue color which means it will need to be re-polished to remove that layer of the metal

    • @MotoJerg44
      @MotoJerg44  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      DEWALT makes some wire cup brushes that might work but make sure to not go too course. Scotchbright is said to work as well, along with steel wool. No matter what you use, the key is to not go too course otherwise you risk making deep scratches.

    • @MotoJerg44
      @MotoJerg44  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries, I’m here to help. To be too coarse (I spelt it wrong the first time, sorry) is the opposite of too fine. So a toothbrush has fine bristles while a wire wheel has coarse bristles. The more coarse it is then the more likely you are to make deep scratches. To remove the blue on the pipe you will need to start a little coarse then work your way up to a more fine wheel or steel wool. At first just try to remove the color, after about 90% of the color is gone, then start working your way through the different grades until you are using a very fine wheel or brush or whatever you choose. If you have any other questions feel free to ask
