The 2024 Triumph TF250X is finally here and Motocross Action test riders, Josh Mosiman and Dennis Stapleton were able to ride the all-new bike at Gatorback Cycle Park in Gainsville, Florida. Triumph has the unique ability to learn from the manufacturer’s who are already making great 250 four-stroke dirt bikes, and they realize that their best way to jump into the new market is to study and learn from the market leaders, rather than reinvent the wheel. The engine has a big bore and short stroke, 78x52.3, it has a hand-welded aluminum frame, it comes with a Bellville washer spring clutch, Smartphone mapping options, KYB suspension with AOS spring forks, forged aluminum triple clamps, Brembo brakes and a Brembo hydraulic clutch, Pirelli MX32 tires, ProTaper handlebar bars and odi lock-on grips.

Hopefully they get into the enduro and two stroke market 🔥
300 2 stroke would be sick
Pretty sure they plan on it. Just saw another video, and the rep was saying they went with the choice of frame they did because it would allow for smoother transition once they start development on Enduro models.
I’m sure they will once they have a solid 250/450 platform. A XC version would be easy to make at that point. Hopefully we’ll see a 350F too. I’d like to see a XC-W & a EXC-F version that. Basically a enduro bike w/ a tag. That’s more my style anyway. I’m definitely intrigued by the 250 though!
Of course they have a enduro planned and that’s why they have firmer multi champ enduro axe Ivan Cervantes as a brand manager , it’s a bigger market potentially .
Three honey w/chrome moly frame👌🏻
JOSH !!!! You have got to race the bike at a national this year !!! That would be EPIC !!!!!
You guys knock these videos out of the park each and every time. As a German car tech I can appreciate the torx, I personally love to see them
I've been riding Triumph sportbikes for 20 years now, the last few I've had have been dead nuts reliable and amazing performers. This is going to be a winner.
Triumph street bikes are beautifully built and styled. Nice to see that carry over to the dirt too!
So glad I'm not the only one ot recognize this.
i dunno it just looks like a yamaha crossed with a husqvarna
If you scratch the plastic it’s orange underneath………
@@Acrscott-p5u Why are people saying this? IT IS NOT A KTM! I get it that it sounds like a cool thing to say, but YOU'RE NOT LISTENING.
let's hope so. @@Acrscott-p5u
Been into triumphs since I was introduced to the street bikes in the mid 80s, to see this bike come to their line up is like a dream come true…
Bike looks great, but what really tripped me out was finding out that little Dennis is 43. I’m friends with his dad, and the first time I met little Dennis was at Hangtown. Big Dennis was pushing him around in a baby stroller. Man do I feel old.
Please don't mention the 'old' stuff, now I thought about it and realized I am old 🤣
I have brought this bike to Glen Helen and it feels so good, the bike holds it lines and build speed super fast, nothing better than a good suspension not losing the front of the bike a single time, the frame absorbs everything and gives you 100% of control of the bike, the bike is loud and it is so good.
That would be awesome to see Josh race the Triumph this summer!!!
Hell yes Josh .. you were ripping on it … bike looks great too … well done triumph 👏👏👏👍
A complete and perfect review. Y'all nailed it again. Great production and value added for time watched. Cheers from Tampa Bay 🌴🤙🏼🏍🛵
That mention of the 450 has got me excited. I can see Triumph as a potential manufacturer to release a 350 model in the future also. 👍
Yeah. Seems like they want to leave no stone unturned in the market. Would be sick
Absolutely, need a 350 option. As well, need off-road/woods option models.
@@207films my so , but ebikes are fast and less maintenance
Great to finally hear some news about this bike from objective people. In the past weeks it has all been speculation by all kinds of people with all kinds of claims.
In my opinion it seems like a well build bike, and as expected they didn't invent the wheel themselves, would have been impossible to build a great bike if you really start from the ground up. I think it's a plus for Triumph, means they've been smart and focussed on what they could improve instead of starting from zero.
Thanks for all insights !
I have a Thruxton, which only sees track days now. I would love to see Josh on the Triumph this summer!
Mxa has the reputation of being brutally honest when they test a bike, id say not a bad review
Stapletons suspension critique was awesome - these guys know their stuff
Yeah but I don't know how to feel about this one. The facts that he pretty much hyped the bike before he rode it and that they were invited to a test event by triumph makes me a little skeptical about the brutal honesty on this one
@@Harry_GersackThis is how Moto reviews have always been... for decades. MXA is legit
@@ChupacabraOffroad He indicated it himself when he said they kept them well fed and tried to make them like the bike. Also different track than for all the other bikes.
I'm not saying they got paid to hype a shit bike. But it can't be as objective as the other reviews when it's a different track and the manufacturer pays you a holiday in florida
If I was in the market for a new 250 that little beast would certainly top the list. It sounds great. It looks better than anything else out there and watching. It seems like it is very balanced and fast.
Looks like a great bike! Love a lot of the ingredients they've put into this thing. Personally don't love the plastics and especially the graphics/colour scheme but thats easy to change.
Great Video guys! Josh is a great speaker too, honestly never watched one of these before, Impressed.
Josh is an awesome ambassador for MXA!! He’s the reason I watch there vids and buy there magazines. Very well spoken and informative. Josh Rocks !!!
Excellent video. This is how all new model release vids should be done.
I too add my vote for Josh to race a national on the Triumph. You know you, and Triumph, will get a lot of press as a result.
Super cool hearing and seeing Ricky's throttle control ! Awesome bike!
Such an awesome video!! Thanks guys for the info, excited to see more content come out on this bike.
Great to see Triumph getting into the motocross market. It can only improve all the other brands down the road. Competition is great for the sport.
The attention to detail is amazing on this bike. All of the castings look great and the cast logos on everything is very cool. Not in love with the black, but the bike looks stellar. Hope they make a 350 and allow after market to make plastic. I'd definitely buy one.
Can't wait for you to bring the bike back to California, put it on the dyno and give us your impressions there. Thanks for the video.
the feedback was so positive that i want to buy one
Man I could sell my soul for a chance to practice with RC 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻, this bike is well done project and I can’t wait to see the 450. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I knew it was going to be good, if not the best 250, just by looking at the frame, the way the double cradle splits higher up on the down tube. KYB suspension and Brembo brakes . Simple , clean and light bike. 😊
Best moto video content of anyone. Youre running a great program josh. Hope youre getting the recognition you deserve from mxa.
Stoked for this bike, I’m glad to see a Gucci 250f.
It's awesome looking but I think the Ducati will be Gucci of all.
Love it, it looks so planted!
Great to see a Trumpet on the track
This test made me want to ride!!! Looks like a super fun bike
This bike is awesome I got mine last week and I am in love with it 🤘🏻🤘🏻
well done for a first year bike.......very well done
might start to see this more often in next 10 years, although it takes a ton of money to start up a program, the Ducati looks sick as well
Sick bike I’m excited to ride one. If they are smart they will produce a 350 to tap into that market KTM has capitalized on
I hope they make a 400 and get the best of the 350 and 450.
If they do a 350 they've got my money
Great test and enjoyed video with RC too, still remember Dennis testing 17 rmzsuzuki 250, ended up buying new one in 2019, still have it
Way Trick. Excellent work
Im excited to see more about this bike. It seems like its going to be really good. Gatorback is looking real good too hopefully they start doing more tests here or maybe even a national
Looks like a great bike. Triumph motorcycle fit and finish have been quite good over the years, and they were smart to outfit with great components like KYB and Brembo. I think they will do well with this model, biggest struggle I think will be the niche motorcycle dealers that sell the brand. Hopefully they look to expand the franchise network with this expansion into offroad.
I'll take 3 of them if I can look that fast. Holy Cow...NICE!
very good review > good job guys < 👌
FOR SURE try to race at a national this summer!!! I'd like to see ya at Washougal...
Can't wait for the GH Triumph review! Also, go smash that national Josh.
Kudos to the Team ✌️🔥Do it Josh 😉
Sounds like a great bije. Watching Swoll ride it it seemed impressive. I think picky guy should be on every test
I’ve been interested and I believe once one of the bikes is in a dealer by me I’m picking one up. I used to race hard but now I’m older I just want to hit jumps and throw whips.
Triumph tf 250 mx bike great looking bike sounds awesome well done Triumph 👍🇬🇧😊
I cannot believe Triumph is the only company to sample their competitors offerings while developing their own product. pretty sure they all do it. I know Stark did
Of course they do, it’s called bench marking it happens in all industries tech, phones cars bike jet engines you name it it’s going on
When will you do a comparison of the Triumph vs. the other brands... or at least tell what how you feel it stacks up against the other brands, from memory, when you test it at Glenn Hellen. Thanks.
I wanna see you race this in a National!
I love seeing that bright orange helmet on TV!
This bike seems spot on 👌 triumph has killed it!! 💯
Kinda excited for the 450 if it's as good as the 250. I currently race a YZ450F and I'm really happy with the bike after getting off a SXF450 two seasons ago. Could Triumph be the best of both worlds? Solid vid Josh as usual.
Whenever there's a triumph being raced,ill watch!!
Deffo triumph in the national ✊
Lol " Glenn Hellen is the ultimate test" yessir, truer words were never spoken. I'm sure it will do good, 250s need every advantage there.
Run the Triumph in the 250 class (Fox raceway) and Beta in the 450 class (hangtown) for outdoors this year. You'll be able to ride 2 brand new bikes and get a solid perspective of how deep both classes are this year.
so with the engine having the same bore+stroke as the ktm 250, would you say it's stronger or has a different engine character?
not that it matters to me but does it have the most powerfull engine in the 250 class as is claimed numerous times?
Gatorback is looking good these days !!!
Josh it would be awesome to see you race it at a national this year, cant wait to see how you get on.
YES! Race it at a national please!
At 6:10 you say AOS are not speed sensitive. Pretty sure this is not correct. All forks have speed sensitive damping. I was under the impression that "SSS" is just Yamaha's own marketing name for their KYB AOS fork (Air Oil Separate (closed cartridge)).
It would definitely be cool to see you race the Triumph at a national, hopefully they will give you some go fast parts to get you on par with the heavily modded small bore rippers that dot the landscape at the nationals!
Great job guys ❤🙏
You guys really used a Cumbia song for the intro hahahahaha Love it!
Race it Josh! That would be awesome! 👍🏆
Beautiful bike especially for a first gen, looks extremely well built. Being a mechanic the only thing I dislike is all the torx screws
Torx heads packed full of mud! Fun!
Triumph have been reborn making great products and their frames are already so well designed and are almost factory works spec in a production mass produced good value package. Theyre approach and taking their time in developing top quality and spec parts with the very best in the world japanese type production, QC to aircraft. Huge respect to the enthusiasm to make the top quality spec possible at a really good price that batters the competition. Their 675 daytona, original 90s trophy, 900 steamer tiger and later on the 800, 850, 900, 1050 tiger sport and 1200 shaft explorer have proven reliability going round the clock and now the 180bhp beautiful speed triple, the 1700 thunderbird, rocket 3 and bonneville 1200 tiger watercooled with great rolling chassis. Like the moto 2 765 motor, theyve taken the excellent design and specs into this TF250X with the complete engine, gearbox and rolling chassis all designed like to work together in harmony like Yamaha with the fantastic engine quality like suzuki, kawasaki and honda also with using some of the Dakar design ideas of companies like KTM, MV Agusta, Aprilia but at a far better price for Ducati type performance. It good its under 10k dollars and 47 bhp and so light. I cant wait for the 450. Only the Norton, crighton CR700 seem better in finish but they cost over £40000 for that V4. Its good to see but its sad BSA wasnt bought up by CCM and money and top brains and vision thrown at another great old brand. Their late 1960s dirt bikes were so beautiful and the frames were something else in the day. Same with Royal Enfield with the last british made interceptors of nearly 800cc which were so well balanced, powerful with great handling but it came too late. The indian 650 interceptor isnt a patch on the mk 3 interceptors. Sadly Sadiq has stabbed the petrol engine in the back.
Josh, you rip! You definitely need to race that machine in a national.
I've read MXA since the 80's, haven't bought the mag since like 05 or so. And I seem to remember them not being an infomercial?
Are they planning a300 water. Cooled version for the hard enduro comps
Fantastic job Josh👍👍
Definitely try to get that thing into a national main!
I vote yes for you to race a national on it
The nicest Trumpet ever built !
looks very nice!
I’d just like to point out that even as an English man, I still find the Torx only bolts to be a crazy choice! 😂
It almost feels like Triumph took a KTM, and changed all the things that people who don't like KTM's complain about. Big brain.
Beautiful bike. Smart move.
🐝🏁 Nice bike see you guys at Glenn Helen. Video 👍
When is the shootout between the 2024 250 shootout winner and this bike?
Good vid on short turnaround 👍
Josh is the best!
Swoll pulling a hole shot shows its got some power
They should be able to set you up with a 450 for a National later in the summer. You’d like Budds Creek.
Sick bike! I wonder when we will see them at our local dealers?
Love that blatant disregard for the track markers 😂
That's a Triumph man.
Looks like im gunna be in the market for the 450 when it comes out
Absolutely...Would love to see how a stock bike matches up to the factory guys...
this bike looks so fun to ride
Race that bad boy see what you can do!
Hand welded is dope
where was that gopro mounted ?
Torx is definitely the best bit anyways!
PlEASE ride this at a National! Dying to see what you folks think during that experience!🏁
I'm glad to see Dennis dragged out on this one! I really appreciate his input and this bike didn't actually look anemic like a 250 usually does.
One vote for YES to run this rig at a National this year.
I cannot wait till the 450 comes out
Triumph 2 strokes would be insanely cool.
Torx bolts are a godsend.
