Amazing result, especially considering the years of development behind the other two bikes. Triumph are really showing their strength in depth, both on road and off.
Epic shootout, that Triumph seems to be an absolute weapon, 2 seconds on a two minute lap is a big difference… I predict Triumph will sell many of these 💯🔥😎😎😎
Absolutely blown away, what a fantastic production. That Triumph is going to become legendary. Big shout out to Sean, what an asset to 999Lazer, his consistently good riding skills are perfect for making a fair comparison on these head-to-head videos. I've been following Max and 999Lazer since near the beginning here on TH-cam and this is now by far the best motocross channel on any platform.
Shane that Desmo 450 is so hideous. Or at least the front of it is. The frame has some wonderful lines; but I don't know what the hell they were thinking with the number plate and front fender 😂
Well done Triumph, for a first MX bike that's incredible. Good video, funny seeing that plane (drone) flying around after the riders. It must have been hard to keep up.
Another great video Max. Like I told you earlier in this saga, if Honda could go from zero to hero in 1973, there was no reason that Triumph couldn't do the same. Now we watch the race season unfold. By the end of the MXON we will see if they succeeded. Good job to Triumph.
Honda spends their money wisely. The stock bikes are generally not the best in class, but the factory spends a fortune on making their race bikes great, and hiring the best riders. Win on Sunday, sell on Monday. It works, and has for a long time.
I wanted to say Sean looked faster on the Triumph until I saw him riding the KTM through the corners... TBF, Tyler looks good on all 3... again, I'd have to say the KTM... Great episode, and for looks i think the Triumph wins....
It seems to be a very common feeling that the best machine in whatever sport simply doesn't feel fast. You hear these soerts of comments again and again. But 2 seconds a lap for both the riders has to be seen as pretty convincing. And the Triumph had only 2 hours on it. I'm no great fan of the 250 4 stroke format, but if this is any sort of indication of what the 400 is going to be like, that has to be a good thing. Is there any news of when the factory is going to be launching the enduro versions? 'Cause that will be right at the top of my shopping list.
Really great to see this. been waiting for the triumph 250 for quite some time now, and i'm very glad to see that it's as fantastic a bike as they swore up and down it would be. Absolutely going to have to get my hands on one
I love the fact that Triumph is back and that Ducati is on the way it brings me joy! I started to get interested I MX/Super-cross and enduro again when I started seeing names like Gas Gas,Sherco,Beta and now Triumph and Ducati reminds me of the 1970s when you would see at least 8-10 manufacturers racing.
I think Triumph has something promising on their hands with their new mx bike. I'd say the biggest problem with European brands for a good few of us here in the states is availability. There are absolutely no KTM or Husqvarna dealers local to me and the only way to get either is to travel into Quebec which sadly requires a passport. But there are Triumph motorcycle dealers in the neighboring state so getting a TF 250-X should be as easy as buying one of their motorcycles. I'm sure they'll be selling quite a few of these things when the time comes. :)
As always, great fkng video. All of your videos are awesome. Keep up the great work. Great job to the Triumph Crew.. RC.. Great Job! Maybe some top-tier big name Riders coming in 25 or 26??.. to the Triumph Brand? Exciting to see and I can’t wait for the 450 debut. 🤙
on track in GP it looks fast as FOOK, the guys racing it are fast as hell but by no means the top tier and yet it is right there...imagine if the Triumph was piloted by a top guy..... you only have to watch it on track, in and out of corners it is lightning
I wanted the Triumph to be best here only because it's the unproven underdog. Anytime Ricky puts this much confidence in something you know it's going to be good. Just look at the early 00's Rm250s, Ricky and Pastrana had fingers in development of that machine and it's probably one of the best handling bikes I've ever ridden. Good on ya Triumph.
Sean says the triumph didn’t feel fast. I remember F1 driver once saying if your driving and it doesn’t feel fast but it’s on point. It’s the opposite. It’s very fast.
I'd liked to have been a fly on the wall when Tyler told his sponsor that he was faster on a stock Triumph than his own race prepped KTM .............." hmmm run that by me again Tyler it sounded like you said that the Triumph was nearly 2 seconds quicker than our bike Grrrrrrrrrrrr " !! 😅😅😅
Fantastic video Max, the bike's were great, test riders did a good review, I didn't expect the triumph to win, but it looks the complete package, hopefully they will do well I mxgp .
Very interesting how the riders didn't feel Triumph was faster but the clock showed it. I think you stated HP difference, well that goes to show HP does matter even though you could argue the whole package. I say this because the riders didn't feel the Triumph faster but it was. The side by side with Tyla showed the difference but the one bobble at 59 sec set the KTM and Triumph apart. From there the long straights and the more HP? allowed it to pull away
A lot of comments about what a good job Triumph have done on their first attempt which is true. What amazes me is how good the Stark Varg is. Considering it is a brand new company altogether and they built a bike that’s using a (relatively) brand new technology. I can’t help think that Triumph should have gone down the electric route rather than try and compete against the legacy manufacturers in a class that will likely move to electric in the next 10 years anyway . They could have built a bike to compete against both the Varg and the oil burners putting themselves ahead of the other manufacturers who are having to develop ICE’s while they work on E technology in the background. Before anyone gets on the “but you need to charge it using petrol generators” bandwagon, remember there are a heap of benefits to going electric and it wouldn’t be a huge deal to have decent power supply at a track, especially if they don’t need to be in the middle of nowhere because of noise complaints. E bikes can potentially bring the cost of racing back to a level (or even less) than that seen since the demise of 2 stokes. That would be truly great for the sport and industry.
Triumph are much more progressive than Harley Davidson , that's for sure. They need to bring out a 450 cc bike to keep their momentum going in the market . Good job
Another great shoot. Great mix of riders. Covered all skill set levels. Fantastic idea. Broaden the scope… broaden your audience. Kudos! IMO - Happy that Triumph got In the game. Competition only spurs on greater engineering. The only thing missing in the comparison is the price tag. That’s a huge component that I wish was factored in and also discussed. Triumph produced a superb machine, but, maybe too much “tech “. MotoGP is currently placing limits and changing rules on the tech front. Let the riders do the riding and may the best rider win. Don’t forget about good old fashioned luck! Keep the content coming! 🎉
Tyler looks more comfortable in the air on the KTM but the worst on the dirt with it. The Honda and triumph looked less comfortable in the air for both and splitting hairs on the dirt due to the different perspectives with Tyler’s triumph lap. But I want to say it looked smoother and got in the throttle quicker on the triumph and therefore looked the fastest on the triumph on the dirt.
Question for the creator (of this video content) and all of those in the know: do the factory KTM teams, in Europe and North America, use the air forks or do they use a spring conversion kit or other special non air forks? I heard they do not use the single spring/air fork combo because it's not as plush and characteristics change with heat buildup (air expansion). Thanks for the video and any info. I enjoy your channel. PS: I am very impressed on what Triumph has been able to achieve with their first MX bike... it looks very refined, fast and beyond its years.
Amazing Drone work on this Video. Way to go Triumph! As far as looks, I’ve always liked the Honda Red, but all three Bikes look great. For a Stock right out of the Crate Bike, the Triumph was very impressive. I’ll have to give it a little Time to see how well they hold up, before I would think about getting one. Again though, way to go Triumph! I’m loving the Bike already. Great Video.😁👍👍
Good work. What about the tyres ? they would have been different wouldn't they ? looks like super soft track. Triumph also runs a narrower rear than the others I think for better turning.
Wow… sometimes numbers don’t jive with people’s anecdotal feel for a bike. It looks like triumph is going be setting a new bar. People on all the channels are saying the same thing. Triumph is coming onto the motocross scene strong

It's much harder to pull off a shoot like this (and way more expensive) than you'd think. Amazing result, especially considering the years of development behind the other two bikes. Triumph are really showing their strength in depth, both on road and off.
That's surprising that the triumph doesn't feel as fast. A sure sign of a well set-up bike.

Great first attempt at a bike!! It sounded and looked to have more off the bottom end than the crf and sxf? I would like to see it up against a yzf?
Not a fair comparison. All the bikes need to be brand new . Out the Box
The only shootout where the Honda was picked the winner by a test rider. Extremely sus.
Sean looks like a typical vet rider...meaning SLOW!!!
I can tell Shawn is a 250 rider that’s the fastest I’ve seen him look I think it’s a toss up between the crf and the tx250f for him
Tf250x
Didn’t compare it to the best bike in the class a yz250f one of the best handling and a really good motor
Tested it myself and honestly was not impressed was kinda let down
Bike suspension was super stiff even for my heavy ass (190lbs)
Exhaust sounded the same all through the power band and in every gear to the point it was confusing me if I had even shifted
Power was pretty good but didn’t really come on until the mid range but did pull pretty good all the way through the top
Chassis felt like a Ktm but perhaps a little more rigid my Ktm (2022 450sx) was lighter but felt similar weight wise but of course engine characteristics makes the 450 feel heavier in some instances
Shifting was a bit weird too it doesn’t like to be shifted unless the clutch is all the way in and anything else it’s nearly impossible or not pleasant
Electrical issues arose for each test rider ultimately it was discovered that the ground bolt kept coming loose
Lastly after taking it apart it was kinda of a let down considering so much got the bike seems copied
Kyb from a Suzuki
Frame from a old Yamaha
Ktm body kit
Ktm gas tank
Ktm motor
Ktm brakes
Ktm subframe
Ktm plastics
Ktm handle bars
Ktm swing arm
So that being said it wasn’t as good as a Ktm.
To me he looked the most comfortable on the Honda it looked smoother and that's saying alot because I don't even like Hondas
Harley Davidson motorcross bike where are you?😅🤔
Americans loves dirt bike but no manufacturer US made✌️

No real point comparing box stock bikes with modified ones. At the very least you need to add the cost of modifications to the stated price.
