The folks on here moaning that it doesn't get a Daytona tune seem to be forgetting that the Daytona engine is significantly different to the Trident. Bigger air box, extra throtle bodies, bigger cylinder head, pistons, valves, I could go on.
Yes, and the triple throttle bodies of the Daytona make it a no go on this bike. I believe Triumph had to alter the Trident frame to make that work (aside from some other chassis tweaking they did for the Daytona). But I think another issue is that using that engine would be pushing it a little too close to Street Triple territory. It might have been nice to give it a few hundred more revs and a small power bump at the top end, though, if that's possible with the current Trident engine.
I believe that the throttle issues were fixed when they did the recall on the bike. The bike drives much better now and is more responsive, even in rain mode. I know that other Trident riders were hoping for the Daytona tuning/engine on the Trident.
We bought a Triuph Trident 660 shortly after it was released to the market in 2021. We are very satisfied with this motorbike. Whenever I drive it, it surprises me with its versatility. Thank you so much for the great video! While many manufacturers offer in-line twin-cylinder bikes, this Trident's three-cylinder engine is Triumph. Also, the basic bike is a 'roadster', which is an all-purpose bike and is more versatile than an adventure model. In that sense, we need to reconsider the value of this bike and its manufacturer.

I like my trident, but as an older rider, I would welcome front ride height adjustment and damping adjustment. The quick shifter is brilliant but traction control needs to be disabled permanently as an option. Phil
My 2023 Trident was my 1st bike and I still own it. As a new rider I didn't see a problem with the throttle, however these "fixes" will cater to the more experienced person. I agree, the old model is a bit of a rough rider. If I was going out today to get my 1st bike again it would still be on my shortlist. Note: Self cancelling indicators are rubbish!!!!
I love everything about this bike to a degree that I can see myself owning one and use it as first bike specially after adding cruise control and I agree with you that all bikes should have it, also prefer one buttoned without any extras. But I have two things that I don't like about it. Let's start with the biggest complaint which is the pillion seat; not only no one can sit but even you can't put anything there, even supersport bike have a pillion seat. The other issue is the fuel tank, I don't know the range but 14 liters does not sound assuring.
better suspension, connectivity, more info, sport, new colors, sameprice & value, unionjackbadge, accessories, safety with broad tires, and more. would like softer suspension adjustment, kit to convert to a tourer(visor, stereo, farring). I feel too much black(plastic) and less chrome(metal). probably my next bike.
The Trident should have got the 94bhp Daytona engine & it would be the undisputed class leader imo. Maybe it already is but it could've been better still so why wouldn't you.
I saw all this and thought of booking the 25 model. But the dealership offered a sweet sweet discount of around 1300 Cad cash discount 500 storage charge waived off on a 24 model that’s on the crate!! Couldn’t resist! I do hope I don’t have buyers remorse!! 😂
I'm picking up my brand new 2024 Triumph Speed Twin 1200 Stealth Edition in Sapphire Red/Silver Red in two days, due to the fact Triumph brought out the Trident 1200! 😁
Don’t think the Trident really needed the extra tech, I’ll stick with my Tribute as it has all the goodies for real world riding & I love it. New colours don’t do it any favours either. Each to their own
I don't get all the fuss over cruise control. How many people ride at a constant speed on motorways long enough to need it? I get it on cars where you sit in the pack and just able along, but that isn't what motorcycling is about is it, unless you like to cruise like the good ole boys on their Harleys. Or has everyone's wrists got so weak they can't hold their throttles open for long any more? It may seem I'm being flippant, but I genuinely don't get all the fuss made about it in TH-cam bike reviews, even on bikes that aren't meant to be mile munchers. Is it maybe just spec sheet box ticking...does anybody regularly use it?
I had CC on a (used) car I purchased. It's almost useless on British motorways. Only thing it's good for is if there's a 50 mph (or similar) speed limit with average speed cameras. You can then set it to the figure, and not get 'towed' or 'pushed' over the limit by other vehicles. Also I used to entertain my step-son by letting him regulate the car's speed by adjusting the setting.
@@richardsimpson3792 Slightly off topic as it's car related but adaptive cruise control with radar on my VW golf is a game changer on UK motorways. Very fuel efficient and smooth also, unless you've got a clown driving the car ahead of you. On the topic of CC on bikes, I would have liked it on my 22 plate Trident on those longer stretches of Motorway when you need to travel to get to the twisties
It’s the U.K. and it’s annoying average speed cameras. More likely to be used in short bursts but it just takes the stress out of those sections as you know you won’t go over so can just focus on handling. At least this is how I end up using it
Looking to upgrade my first ever bike, Svarty 401. After test riding many bikes I have now short listed the trident 660 and the hornet 750. Difficult decision !
I loved my Trident, and put over 13000km (8000 miles) on it. But it just felt a bit cramped on longer rides, for my 183cm/6' (34,6" inseam). Just traded it in for a GSX-8S. It fits my frame a lot better, and I really like the Suzuki, but I'm missing a bit of the Trident smoothness.
Hi Bob, great updates for the Trident I own one and because of several of the missing features (quick shifter, bluetooth, modes, etc). Wondering if the modes will be updated to old models?. Not sure about the new suspension setup but I think that the front brake update is missing. With the four piston front brake it would have been perfect, most of the competition has a 4 piston front brake offering. So, a little short but much better looking and a harder choice now between the competitors (considering all the new ones, like the China brands - Cfmoto, QJmoto, Zontes)
Blimey! That’s a bargain! It’s such a good looking machine but with those added bells and whistles I think that makes it frankly unbeatable now. The Hornet may offer slightly more for slightly less but in terms of aesthetics and an overall package…
Love the Triumoh brand and their DNA. I WISH - street triple got the same type of licence plate holder and blinkers - just mounted like that "on the rear tire". Because right now Street has that "shovel" sticking at the rear which is one thing WE ALL loose and replace the minute we sit on the bike. Shame that Trident as cheaper option has few design ideas that are just better executed
Looks phenomenal value now, very hard to argue against it now. I took one out a few months ago and was really impressed with it and this will be even better. Just wish they hadn’t continued with the two piston calipers. They look so jaringly basic and horrible on an otherwise brilliant bike.
Couldn't agree more, ditch the strange choice of Cruise Control for a Sunday back lane blaster machine. Instead put on radial brakes which are hardly new tech, as it'd raise the profile imho.
I don't like the dash, but its better than last year model. I like the SV650 or I would propperly go with the Trident 2025 model. Cruisecontrol is fine, but i dont use it, quickshifter is wery nice if it is smooth! I'd like to see it with spoke wheels 👍
This should be the Daytona 660 without the fairings and call it the trident 660RS... nothing stands out of the pack except it's a triple, as it is, it's more MT-07 than Honda hornet 750.
I feel jealous already that my Tribute edition is missing this nice tech, especially sport mode to kill that lag in the throttle. it's only possible to blip hard the engine without that lag, otherwise😢
I've got a Hornet 750, but if this spec had been around at the time would have gone for the Trident They really going to shake things up with Cruise control 6axis I'm. Well done Triumph Honda are you listening 😅
What I hate is that most motorcycle companies keep going for the "easy-to-ride" thing nowadays and leave experienced riders with a tuned-down bike without a choice. Don't get me wrong; I can see the use of it, but they belong in the sub400cc category. You shouldn't ask for an easy-to-ride experience when you are looking at a 600cc plus machine; that's just common sense.
Beautiful bikes, those triples, but they need to get that throttle response issue resolved. It would cost you another 800-1000€/£/$ to get a flash that would help with the throttle but that puts these in another price range and potentially voids warranty. The base is competitively priced and with only one color option that's a shame, but everything else seems a bit too high for the segment. In the end they are really the best lookers in the segment though.
I email Sena and Cardo a couple times a year and ask them if they’ve enabled STANDARD SPEC Bluetooth mesh so that MESH actually works with Sena and any other brand using Bluetooth mesh. The whole point of Bluetooth is standardization and Bluetooth interoperability. Why do motorcyclists deserve worse than Apple levels of forced proprietary bits or in this case just sabotage of industry standard features to prevent interoperability for their own customers. Sena and Cardo need to take one for the team here. Giving us plain old school Bluetooth direct connection compatibility between the brands finally 15 years later is hardly a triumph (no pun intended) of generosity

Damn makes me wonder if the Daytonas gonna get some upgrades in it's next model year
The Trident should have got the 94bhp Daytona engine & it would be the undisputed class leader imo. Maybe it already is but it could've been better still so why wouldn't you.
Careful what you wish for. My Daytona 660 drinks petrol. I don’t mind though.
I saw all this and thought of booking the 25 model. But the dealership offered a sweet sweet discount of around 1300 Cad cash discount 500 storage charge waived off on a 24 model that’s on the crate!! Couldn’t resist! I do hope I don’t have buyers remorse!! 😂
When is that ENDURO VELOCE review coming out?? I’ve already spotted in two videos and I’m craving to hear more about it! 😮
Yo bob, à bit of grey in the beard since those trident launch pics! Me too...
Afraid so mate! You can’t escape the slow march of time… 😅
Wow, fantastic updates from triumph!
I'm picking up my brand new 2024 Triumph Speed Twin 1200 Stealth Edition in Sapphire Red/Silver Red in two days, due to the fact Triumph brought out the Trident 1200! 😁
Buying my first bike next June, With the Trident AND Speed Twin getting updates and being 1st on my list, this makes choosing more difficult 😂
earned a sub, soldier... Good work...
Useful on motorways , or when touring. Depends how plan to use the bike.
No way you live in the US Midwest. Nope.
It’s the U.K. and it’s annoying average speed cameras. More likely to be used in short bursts but it just takes the stress out of those sections as you know you won’t go over so can just focus on handling. At least this is how I end up using it
i have the trident 2022 model (for almost two years now), with only 4K km on it, and I think the 2025 model looks even sleeker than mine.
This is my concern. I've yet to sit on one or take one out but im 6'1"
It looks very tempting. I'd have to buy front and rear mudguards, but that's normal with the exception of the Indian made bike.
What a great value bike I would definitely consider one now it has cruise control
I love the way they made the trotthle, i dont drive slow, im a bit agressive, rear tyre almost made 25k km
Mines gone at 6k 😅
still loving my 22 trident.
I hope they will add these features to the Tiger 660. That's around the same price as Transalp so it definitely needs an improved value proposition.
Triumph is unbeatable. Best bikes out there in most categories now
Lol! Only for uncle toms like you. Nothing comes close to honda, Kawa and RE.
Shame the new daytona is so ugly tho
@@sidmallya7421 kawasaki have a fantastic line up, honda are so god dam boring these days though
@@sidmallya7421I have only owned Kawasaki and Honda but this trident is beautiful. I would love a speedtwin 1200
Blimey! That’s a bargain! It’s such a good looking machine but with those added bells and whistles I think that makes it frankly unbeatable now. The Hornet may offer slightly more for slightly less but in terms of aesthetics and an overall package…
All suspension is adjustable, its just that some needs stripping to do.
Cruise control, sport mode, IMU, quick shifter for the same price... This is truly trend setting for the 650 class.
Love the look of this bike just wish they had a bigger 900cc version around 125bhp.
That is a very impressive package for the price
I threw a leg over it and at my 1.87 height, it felt small. Therefore I bought a Z650RS for my first bike. Safe roads to everyone !!
Man, what I wouldn’t do for cruise and sport mode on my 22 Trident!
It just killed the competition and I bet we’ll see these kind of updates on the Japanese bikes as well
Killer 🍻🍻
Great video like always. You are the best. I quite like the bike, lots of +++ for the price.
Enjoyed the review, as per other comments do you think this will all follow through to the Tiger 660
I have a 21 model, all these upgrades makes me cry
I'd like to see it with spoke wheels
👍
This makes it seem that waiting for the 25 model is worth it!
had a feeling the quick shifter would become standard after it was included on the tribute edition.
This should be the Daytona 660 without the fairings and call it the trident 660RS... nothing stands out of the pack except it's a triple, as it is, it's more MT-07 than Honda hornet 750.
Great looking bike and love the triples
Other change: the previous Nissin rear brake made way for a new Triumph rear brake
If the 2026 daytona 660 gets cruise control imma be mad
I was tempted to upgrade my TS660 to a Tracer 9, but maybe I'll just upgrade to another TS660 with the new tech
I’m hoping Triumph follow suit with the same upgrades for 2025 Tiger 660 Sport seeing fairly close platform to the Trident
I feel jealous already that my Tribute edition is missing this nice tech, especially sport mode to kill that lag in the throttle. it's only possible to blip hard the engine without that lag, otherwise😢
Single button cruise control is all I need and use anyway
I've got a Hornet 750, but if this spec had been around at the time would have gone for the Trident
They really going to shake things up with Cruise control 6axis I'm. Well done Triumph
Honda are you listening 😅
Wish they'd do something like this for the Tiger 660 Sport.
Here I had finally decided I wanted a Tuono 660 Factory so I could get a speed shifter and cruise and Trident just make me think I could save $3k!
How about a sequel to that epic launch mate?
Haha tempting mate... verrrrrrrry tempting
If these features make it to the tiger sport 660 then that will be the bike to beat in its class as well.
