Official Music Video for Don’t Ask Me performed by OK Go. Directed by Barnaby Roper Website | www.okgo.net Instagram | / okgo Twitter | / okgo Facebook | / okgo Store | okgo.net/store #OKGo #DontAskMe
Honestly, it could be the audio mastering for the CDs. I don't know if it was deliberate or not, but the cacophonous nature of Of The Blue Color Of The Sky made it hard to listen to.
Their music changed a lot when OG Andy left, because he was the synthesizer guy. The self titled album is the last one he was involved with, so everything after that was less synth-y. I also attribute it to them just growing older, getting married, etc. They're fantastic guys and great performers.
Still one of my favorite OKGo songs. Love their new stuff too, but this just brings back great memories of rocking out to this in the car in college. =)
Ok Go doing a regular, run-on-the-mill video? nah, this is a joke, where's the hidden goldberg machine? or the giant steam-powered music playing contraption?
So cordial, so rotten, KISS KISS Don't ask m- Don't ask me OWW. So thoughtful, so gracious, Don't be so DAMN BENIGN, AND DON'T WASTE MY FUCKING TIME. Don't ask me how I've been.
I like it when a band accepts the change in their sound as they mature. If they continue to sound exactly like they did when they started, by the third or fourth album it's gonna get stale. There are very few bands that continue to make good music by imitating themselves. Hell, John Fogerty got sued for it. If the new stuff isn't your style, I get it. But in my opinion, they're honest with themselves in their song writing, and even though it's gone pretty far into the realm of pop, I still have a lot of fun listening to it. Plus- they clearly enjoy what they do and the videos make for a good time too.
Quit actin' so friendly, don't nod, don't laugh all nicely. Don't think you'll upend me, don't sigh, don't sip your iced tea. Don't say it's been a while, and don't flash that stupid smile. Don't ask me, don't ask me, don't ask me, ask me, ask me how I've been. Don't think I've forgotten, you never liked that necklace. So cordial, so rotten, kiss kiss let's meet for breakfast. Don't show up so on time, and don't act like you're so kind. Don't ask me, don't ask me, don't ask me, ask me, ask me how I've been. Don't ask me, Don't ask-- ow! Don't sit there and play just, so frank, so straight, so candid, So thoughtful, so gracious, so sound, so evenhanded. And don't be so damn benign, don't waste my fuckin' time. Don't ask me how I've been.
Will: I’d been inspired by my trip to Warwick. Inspired to get the best grades I possibly could so I didn’t end up at uni with Jay and Neil. One good thing came out of the weekend. Tara dumping Simon meant I got my friend back… my silver-tongued, slightly weird and still a virgin friend. (The inbetweeners)
Love the song, hate the video, I am so glad they started making their own videos, they are so much more deep and real and less "here is a half naked woman, buy our cd/ car/ whatever"
Oh Lately It's So Quiet, What to Do, C-C-C-Cinnamon Lips, You're So damn Hot, Invincible, Here it Goes Again, WTF? And This Too Shall Pass are great songs too
+TheNinjaturtle17 Same here!!! Gosh I loved the three lead actors. Yes, even Kristen Stewart, because despite the bad rep from Twilight I've always believed she's a great actress, from this movie and Panic Room, etc.
Interesting how this video was made in 2003 & Beyonce's "Single Ladies" video (which "borrowed" heavily in the production design) got so much attention.
One of the greatest and influential bands of the modern era. Their impact hasn't been properly recognised but that's typical no matter level of artistry you're at. And they simply somehow keeping getting better!
I completely understand how certain bands have to “evolve” but when they did catchy songs, they were at their best. Maybe they felt like “sell outs” with this album, but who cares? When a song is good… it doesn’t matter!
Man. It's like, since all the awesome vids they made recently, and just how they have changed, (they have changed so much) it's like, IS THIS EVEN OK GO? WHO ARE THESE IMPOSTERS? Am I right? It's funny how they silenced the curse word too. I love ok go. They are on my favorites list right below the Beatles. And the Beatles are the top of the list. It's a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong list of course. And the are in second place. Below the freaking Beatles! That's how much I like them! And if you knew me, you would know good that would be. Heck, I'm wearing a Beatles shirt right now. 😍😍😍😍😄😄😄😄
My Morning coffee pick me-up VIDEO....YES...!!!! This is great rock and instant energy video....I am ready for the day, after I view this and listen to them...Ok Go, such TALENT and SOUND....Lead Singer, many years ago, my friend and he look like twins..SUPER FUN GUY.... FUN GUY....GREAT FACE.....HTH IN WHG< WV....
I was watching Catch That Kid with young Kirsten Stewart and this song was in the movie. Totally forgot about this song. So good. It's been stuck in May head all day.
A second video was made to promote the single in 2003 in the UK. This video was directed by Brian L. Perkins in 2003 and features the band performing the song an empty white room with a line of female dancers who feature prominently.
This song is amazing. I can't not smile when I hear it. It's my favorite. I'm in love with it. His voice is so perfect with the instruments. I love OK Go.
I came here from Do What You Want. Disappointed I can't find version 1 anywhere. Well, my journey through the old OK Go continues. I think I'm going to have swing by Invincible to jog my memory
I want everyone to watch the dancing lady very carefully. Though it is always the same lady, her moves are not always in sync. They had her do the dance multiple times and then overlayed the different ones. This is a very time consuming technique whose only purpose is to keep our brains from freaking out at the site of multiple people moving exactly the same. This technique was also used on the oompa loompas in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".
This video was created by a record company and it's pretty much to formula.... yawn. Every video that OK Go is famous for? Self-produced, and exceptional. Hmmm..... not saying anything, just say'n. Record companies have a lot of money at stake, so I get why they want to meddle in the creative process, but they are almost always wrong. Better songs, better videos, better bands are created BY the artists, not FOR them.
The most amazing thing in this one? There's only one girl in it. Multiple shots and compositing. This band LOVES to mess with perception and expectations!
@WhoOnEarthAreYou Because people call anybody doing other music they like to do "selling out." They love to box people into categories until they've cliched themselves to death--THEN those people began to call them "unoriginal." Just ignore such opinionated idiots. OK Go is awesomest prime. (Yes, make that term viral, everyone. Tell them an OK Go fan started it.)
no I did not. As most videos in the 90s and 00s I watched both on TV. now I get my videos from yt. anyways I shall try watching the video you mentioned as you might watch some of my short animations if you got some free time. now I'm off to make some more.
... Did you get that song from another video, called, "The Most Creative Music Videos of All Time," by PartyRockCanda? I did. Try watching, "Her Morning Elegance," by Oren Lavie.
I don't know if you're my favorite band, but you are my favorite perfect poignant moment. You gave me this in a time when I really needed it. Thank you.
Guys, it's obviously a T-mobile commercial.

Omg your right!

@@xaytaytortot2540 oh
back when they had andy instead of andy...
wait. They had Andy with them??
Andy Duncan and Andy Ross. The former is better than the latter.
Wait why is Andy Duncan better? They both seem like fine guitarists and musicians
"So if I, eat this bonzai tree, I automatically become fun and interesting do I?"
"you ate a bonzi tree?" "if you get hungry for a midnight snack, there's a spider plant in the bathroom."

I don't understand how some people can't like their new music. I love there new and old music.

Where? Where do you love new and old music?
Their music changed a lot when OG Andy left, because he was the synthesizer guy. The self titled album is the last one he was involved with, so everything after that was less synth-y. I also attribute it to them just growing older, getting married, etc. They're fantastic guys and great performers.
Most people that like bands that go from punk to indie/electronic are like that
Still one of my favorite OKGo songs. Love their new stuff too, but this just brings back great memories of rocking out to this in the car in college. =)
Ok Go doing a regular, run-on-the-mill video? nah, this is a joke, where's the hidden goldberg machine? or the giant steam-powered music playing contraption?
this was 3 years before that started :3
The dancer's AMAB if that helps.
i'm sure a lot of people shit on the video, but it's not bad, considering all they used was a green screen and a girl
They deserve do much more recognition than they already have.
So how's it been guys

I used to think "well this song is unnecessarily mean," and now I actually get it. The girl he's talking to was a crap face.

POV: you got this song from the Inbetweeners
私は この頃の OKGOが 一番好きだ
ロックバンドとして とてもカッコいい
OK Go always seems to be such a good life soundtrack. I can vividly remember particular years depending on the OK GO album.
The lead singer looks like he could be Mick Jaggers son.
I think that's what got their first record deal. He was a hot.
Don't ass me ass me ask me how I've been
putting this on my mental list of songs to send to my ex boyfriend

How have you been?
Didnt I just say DON'T AAAAAAASK ME
I didn't realize how few people actually know this song. I've been listening to this since it came out!
I like ALL their music but "Don't Ask Me" and "Get Over It" are their best songs.
Oh Lately It's So Quiet, What to Do, C-C-C-Cinnamon Lips, You're So damn Hot, Invincible, Here it Goes Again, WTF? And This Too Shall Pass are great songs too
If you don't think it's as unique and intersting as their other videos...think again...that is just ONE girl in the video!!
Still shows it's an earlier video in their career - if they made it today the girl would be played by one of them!
Azukar or the girl would just be an optical illusion!
I wonder if the guy on Keyboard misses the band...
He must be kicking himself now, they're huge!
Cooro Fox He was amazing, but didn't want to relocate to LA from the Chicago area. I still prefer him to Rusty, though Rusty is still pretty good.
+Majin72 i would say hes a little rusty... Ill see myself out
+ZCSSCraft what? That's andy's nick name not this guys, you confuse me
Mary Scott idk what I was thinking this was over a month ago.

THATS where I heard this first! That was driving me crazy!
sideralis Oh yeah. I don’t hate Twilight, but that series other than more people knowing her name did her no favors.
Will: "Neil, stop pissing!"
It smells like pissy sugarpuffs

Man, the change in meter towards the end of the song always gets me when I try to play it.
They are forcing girl to dance for them because what girl would want to dress and dance like that
or like, she was a hired professional who willingly took the job and was properly compensated? I don't understand your thinking here
Their new music videos are undeniably more epic, but to be honest I think this fits the song perfectly.
Wow. This is the only traditional music video of theirs I've seen.
A second video was made to promote the single in 2003 in the UK. This video was directed by Brian L. Perkins in 2003 and features the band performing the song an empty white room with a line of female dancers who feature prominently.

If you lip-read, the "k" sound doesn't involve moving lips or the mouth at all. Just throwing that out there.
Awesome name btw.
