@@KatherineForbesomg! I was wondering why you didn’t use them. Makes perfect sense that you didn’t know. So- in watching this video, I have one question- do I need to clean my hideous grout prior to painting? This would involve me on a skateboard with a toothbrush and small steam cleaner. Back problems oh yes! But with the paint. That just seems like extra work. Do you agree?
@@crystalgraham1875 I cleaned the grout all 3 times I painted floors. Here's the way I did it that didn't involve a toothbrush haha: th-cam.com/video/9gOAtTrmBpI/w-d-xo.html
This is really great!! We cannot afford to re tile our bathroom floor so I was looking for other options. My husband wants black and white checkers so we shall see how that goes lol I am contemplating black grout lines but will keep mowing it over. Thanks for the tips!!
Might be easier as far as application - but this paint is so solid, I trust its durability more than I think I would a grout marker. Plus, the top coat is meant to seal this paint specifically, and I'm not sure how it would work with the marker. (All that said, I've never used a grout marker.)
That looks really good I’m thinking of doing my kitchen, 🫤 could you do a update please to see how it’s kept I know it’s been a while but only just come across your channel thanks 😊
*I used a utility knife and bought extra blades...use it to scrape out the old grout...you gonna need someone who can apply good pressure* *and angle to cut out the old grout...only took me about a day...next follow this video and paint all your tiles...* *Let dry and buy some sand grout for the grout lines (mine are large like this video)...sure is a time saver*
I agree, sand grout looks so much more natural than paint. Even better: Mapei grout stain. Comes in every color under the sun and lasts forever. Easy peasy!
My mother used to use shoe polish on the grout. She was a cleaning maniac&her house was always immaculate. She even cleaned before the cleaning lady came! That bathroom tile was the whitest in town ( tiny hexagon tiles).
I tried the same thing you're doing this morning with a paintbrush and pain't brushing paint on grout it just kept sucking it up The paint that is So unless you're ready to put it down pretty Thick I don't think it will work
@@KatherineForbes Thank you. if the glossy tiles on the floor are painted, the paint will not scratch off easily? Will it adhere to the glossy surface?
@@KatherineForbes Thank you!! I so appreciate the update and I'm glad it's been working out for you! Hi Katherine , Just curious your bathroom tile painted do you face the paint partially peel off after sometime due to using brush to wash the bathroom?
A decent brush makes all difference for painting
THANK YOU SO MUCH 😭
A rigger line brush is best for the grout lines..
Have ever tried grout pens? Great paint makeover! ❤
Didn't know those existed!

can you use masking tape on the tiles so you can paint between them? maybe that will make the work easier :)

Shouldnt primer be allowed first?
Paint is made specifically for flooring so the product is made to be used without additional primer. There's also a top coat included in the set.
So what happens when u mop ?
Cleans and looks great!
How does it maintain
Are foot/shoe print more easily visible??? 😩
Hi guys how is this holding up so far ????
Still great!
I can’t find tu la t where is hat paint you used
How it it after two years?
Can I hire you!!!!! My back won’t let me do this :(. I’d love a new floor! ❤️
Wow. Looks so Great.
Is it slippery?
Not at all!
Can the paint be removed later? I am thinking of doing this to an apartment I am renting.
I wouldn't recommend for a rental - it holds up VERY well!
What kind of paint did you use? And what sheen?
Would the paint peel off after a few yrs?
Mine hasn't! Zero peeling!
Wow!
Thank you for this.
What king of paint are you using??
Rustoleum Home
What's it look like now??
This product really does hold up well, no complaints!!

Hi what kind of paint do you use for tile ? Thank you
Rustoleum Home floor paint
I would like an update. How did this hold up?
Still great years later… promise!
What kind of roller did you use?
A different roller for base coat and top coat - the Rustoleum Home paint cans say exactly what to use on the back label!
What paint did you use on grout lines. It’s not showing on my feed in description
Did you use a bit of the white and tint it?
It's the same kind of paint as the white! Both the Rustoleum Home, I just got 2 "colors" (white and gray).
Can I have the link for the paint brands please
Hi, what's the name of the paint or what type of paint is it, thanks very much.
Rustoelum Home floor paint :-)
What do you clean it with can I use a steam mop?
I've used our Bissell and it's just fine, but it doesn't have a steam/heat component
Usually I just clean with swiffer or a wet towel
I'm moving into a house with ugly old brown floors in the bathroom. Definitely going to paint them. Thanks!
Why not use a grout pen...would that work?
I already had the paint, so that's what we used!
It looks very nice. My concern is ... how does it wear? Is it durable over time?
Held up for us!
did you sand the tiles and was it a base coat and top coat
no sanding! and yes, the Rustoleum Home kit includes base and top coats.
What is the BRAND NAME of the paint used?
It's Rustoleum - check description for links to everything!
I dont like the grout lines painted. I'm doing mine without it. I'm wondering if they used the Rustolium paint.
Yes, this is Rustoleum floor paint.
Do we use special paint that won’t gets erased by the water the bathrooms always get with shower and everything- waterproof paints?
Yep, this is Rustoleum Home, meant specifically for floors. Check description for all products I used :-)
Please let us know how it looks after 2-3 years of using it
Still looking great - I know I need to do a video update, just trying to find the time haha
How do the floors look today? You don’t have to seal after?
Did you sand
Nope!
Lovely 😊
How did this hold up? :-)
I'm interested l will try it, but which paint are you using
Wow 👏 good job
Does anybody know what type of paint?
I used the Rustoleum Home floor paint kit
I got a 3rd kitchen floor for ya lol

always immaculate. She even cleaned before the cleaning lady came! That bathroom tile was the whitest in town (

What kind of paint??
Rustoleum Floor Paint
What color is the floor paint code number please
I'm not sure about codes, but the white is called Steam Gray and gray is French gray!
"Get my groove." Too funny!😂
Beautifuly done… please guide for how long the paint remains …. Means how many months or years ?
many years so far!!
I like the grout white better. Looks cleaner.
Hi! Do you have any idea how I can paint just the tiles and leave grout as is? I don’t know what roller can make that happen
Nu se ia vopseaua?
Okay, I noticed you guys didn't sand? I am in the middle of painting my kitchen floor and realized that I did not SAND, and now I am freaking out!!
No need to sand!!
@@KatherineForbes thank you!! :)
Is there any specific paint to use, or just any paint
Beautiful
Emily is so pretty 😍
how is the paint now ? is all still good attach on the tiles ?
Yes, held up great!!
More paint!!!!!!!!!
What paint is this
Rustoleum Home - specifically for floors. Check description for all products I used :-)

Did you use floor paint?
Great outcome!
My question is this: does this paint works on floors with white glossy tiles, or even on the shower walls?
On the floors should be fine, but it's not meant for showers. I do think Rustoleum has a separate paint line for that though!
@@KatherineForbes Thank you. if the glossy tiles on the floor are painted, the paint will not scratch off easily? Will it adhere to the glossy surface?
How do you clean day to day. Can the paint stand the bathroom chemicals?
See if this video helps :-) th-cam.com/video/cZZdZYeRH4c/w-d-xo.html
@@KatherineForbes thanks 😊. How often can it be mop??
@@mercedesyoung5906 I don't think how often really matters, I'd just suggest not getting the floors soaking wet when you do it!
Heya! I commented on this a couple years ago and I'm finally gonna get to do this project this year. I was curious to see how the paint has held up?
Honestly, it's been great! I did it in my own kitchen and small bath as well and have no regrets 3+ years later.
@@KatherineForbes Thank you!! I so appreciate the update and I'm glad it's been working out for you! Why didn’t u just use a coloured grout pen ?
because I didn't have one!
My tiles are glossy would that mean I’d have to use a different paint from yours
Why do you think that? The paint even works on flooring other than tile too!
I’m going to try this with my kitchen. Does the floor paint differ from regular wall paint? Worried that it’ll get wait and leave it funny 😅
Yes you definitely need to get floor paint!! Do not use wall paint on your floors.
I will this in my bathroom😍. Tq for showing it ❤
how did this hold up?
Please explain if it is water base or oil base paint and how to dilute. Is it ok to use polyurethane just to make the tiles more shiny?
It's a floor paint specifically for floors made my Rustoleum... you don't need to dilute it with anything. I choose the matte finish but there's also a shiny/gloss finish option if you prefer.
Is it bad to hurry the drying with a fan?
I'm looking to paint a much larger area and not sure I have the patience to hand paint those grout lines - I do admit it looks amazing with the gray
It's definitely tedious!
Is the top coat necessary? And what brand paint and top coat did you use?
Yes top coat is definitely necessary - it's part of the paint set. It's Rustoleum, linked in description for more details!
Great idea , does it last?
It has for me! th-cam.com/video/dfqCP5FyC_0/w-d-xo.html
You’re hired👍🏽
Any scratches on your floor. Furniture heavy traffic and pets paws.
Luckily, no!
Does the paint peel off?
Hasn't for me! Super durable.
How do you avoid brush strokes showing I’m trying to do my kitchen tiles but it’s impossible
Use a roller for as much as you can... and then if you can, roll over your brush strokes too!
I wouldn't have painted the grout lines, but thats just me
Did you use a base coat?
The white (and gray) are basecoats. The paint kit comes with base coat (colors) and a top coat option.
Hi Katherine , Just curious your bathroom tile painted do you face the paint partially peel off after sometime due to using brush to wash the bathroom?
I haven't used a scrub brush on any of my painted floors so I can't give you a good answer here! They clean well without harsh scrubbing.
I see you didn't tape first...
What did you paint the grout lines with? Is it tile paint or something else?
Same Rustoleum floor paint, just in gray!
What about an ugly kitchen counter? Can I do the same? I sprayed tile paint and it peeled off at no time:0(
Tks for sharing. Beautiful results!!!
This is specifically for floors - so I'd keep searching for a counter specific product!
