Bravo. This video was most instructional, showing all aspects of the job and the most importantly, why! And the top important was alignment of the shaft from the engine mounts.
We have Sophys back in the water since early April. But this year so far the weather hasn't been very Fair with all the Easterlys we're getting.... Please goodness it'll pick up soon. Good luck with the jobs the list never seems to get smaller...
@@fairweathersailors yeah saw the episode from Howth. Just thought you'd to lift out to fix. John home in 5 weeks (working in Oregon since November) then we get sailing 😁
What to film over the winter/ non sailing season is a worry when trying to maintain consistent schedule, add to that getting injured at Christmas so no "new" maintenance projects to film . Hence tutorials
When do,you not need to use the bleeder/ raw water lubrication? I am a sailor, barely make 5 knots cruising speed, but my Volvo shaft seal has a water intake for lubrication, where as on my last sailboat it was not used.

Thank you!
Great job Glen. We lifted out last week until early July time for out of water jobs

Ye are doing great keeping a schedule, well done.

When the seal is positioned below water level no extra cooling is required. Never let the seal run dry.
Why not adjust the back two mounts?
They were the back mounts we were adjusting... The little 2001 is adjusted from these mounts. Cheers for checking out the video.
