    Thank you for this video. I’ve been wanting to know how to do this for a long time. Also, thank you for showing how to remove the additional material.

    How do designers like Augusta/a1923 and Carol Christian Poell create the beautiful wrinkles and rolls into the toes of their shoes?

    Hey Amanda, do you think is feasible to build up a pointed toe from a round lasts using milliput? Or is it just a bad idea, i.e. hard to make symmetrical lasts?
    Thank you for your classes, it's been great fun and great for my mental health taking up shoemaking as a hobby during the pandemic!

    Hi, thanks for the awesome hack and appreciate your videos alot! Just wondering, would the milliput crack and break during the lasting process?

    • @ICANMAKESHOES
      @ICANMAKESHOES  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Evie - Its not very brittle so wont break off unless you create a really elongated toe shape :)

    how do you make both shoes an exact match?

    • @ICANMAKESHOES
      @ICANMAKESHOES  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tyler, we do it mostly by eye - look from above and from each side angle. But you can also measure the width and length (if you're adding length) to ensure they match.

    How easily does milliput come off the last?

    • @ICANMAKESHOES
      @ICANMAKESHOES  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Quite easily! You will need some tools (a hammer / cutting knife) to encourage it but it will chip off without too much hassle.

      @@ICANMAKESHOESso would it be a better choice for adding width to a last rather than gluing leather?
