With all due respect. This is a lifetime of skill. Not a weekend course. Start with something simple first. Shoes are the absolute pinnacle of the leatherwork art. Edit: Been brutally mis-quoted. Shoes = harder than they look. Expect a very steep learning curve. Simpler projects = might be more practical when learning. Good lord.
I’ve always wanted to make my own custom leather shoes. Thanks for demonstrating how easy the steps are. Simple as 1, 2, 3…….thousand… But really, very beautiful work!
Absolutely spellbinding to watch. Extra thanks from me because this brought back so many long forgotten memories, of my beloved grandfather and his shoemaking, of the textures and smells, of my "job" as his tiny polishing assistant. Such happy times ❤️
As a person who assigns a high value to handcrafted items, this video was fascinating and impressive. I've never seen the process of making shoes by hand before. Absolutely wonderful. Thank you for the great video. 👍
Can you make a long hour video showing every process and also speaking about the materials, their quality and selection process? Would be wonderful to know. 🙂
This randomly popped up in my feed… wasn’t planning on watching how to make bespoke shoes tonight!! BUT DAMN!! The attention to detail!! Raw talent and mesmerizing!!! What a skill!! You should be proud!!! 💕
The most meticulous thing I have ever sat and watched, particularly without fast forwarding. I was captivated by all the work and how it would come together. I’m also impressed that you have such beautiful hands to actually work with them, in particular with leather - it seems it would be hard on your hands/skin, perhaps you moisturizer, but either I was impressed all around.
I'm not a fan of the pointed shoes look.. but as a craftsman I deeply appreciate the arduous details, and time it took to make this unique one of a kind product..
If you see all this handcrafting skills, this passion and accuracy and you still wonder why good shoes aren‘t avaiable for 50€ you should think about! Great work!
This is by far the best handmade video I’ve ever seen. I’ve been a repairman for many years, and I learned a ton of things about handwork. Great video!!!
These aren't shoes, they are works of art. Can only imagine how the owner would feel with these on their feet. Had no idea how much went into making a pair of bispoke shoes. How razor sharp those tools must be.
Wooooow! Best looking pair of shoes I've ever seen. Great craftsmanship and dedication to work. Your attention to detail is beyond a normal human. I love them. How can I have a pair made please?
@@randomuploaderguy If I felt so compelled I would give it a go, why not? He shows in this video the steps more or less. Can fill in the blanks with other sources.
My grandfather made boots. I worked at my last local boot repair shop after he passed, just to get a better understanding of what he did... This brought back some good memories.
Wow I would love to own a pair of shoes made for me. I bet they feel so perfect you could walk all day in them without any discomfort. I used to work in the limb industry and during my apprenticeship was shown how the remainder of the limb was cast in the same way you did with plaster. Areas of relief were added and the leather was soaked and stretched to fit the cast. I watched as skilled leather workers would hand stitch just as you did it was an incredible process.
My thoughts exactly. What if your foot swelled up? I often buy shoes that are a bit bigger than my feet to allow for movement and swelling in hot weather. Brilliant video.
Thankfully they are not literally made around your feet. You would be stuck in his shop for days, it would be very sore and would result in a bilateral amputation 5:19 . They are very well made though - fascinating.
@volker.kreutzer852 man, I honestly can't tell if you're trolling me or not. But obviously, I didn't mean it's his actual live foot, but it's just the closest thing to it...🤦
Thank you for 35 minutes of your amazing skill I assume took years to develop. YT will d digitally preserve and display your work from many years to come.
I have appreciated that video so much. It illustrates why a truly bespoke shoe costs what it does. The effort and detail that goes into the craft is enormous and requires experience and the right tools. Not to mention patience and passion. Thanks again.
A strange noise escaped from my mouth when I saw you make that overlap cut. That level of attention to detail is incredibly soothing to my soul. Good work. Very much worth the money, whatever they cost.
I searched for ages for how to make a last and all of the videos left a lot to be desired, and here you literally show how to make a perfect one! Thank you so much!
I’ve wanted a pair of bespoke shoes made with leather for so long. You’ve got my longing back going again. Don’t have the bucks for it though. All I can do is dream. Making skills and great video production!

Wow!.the patience and the skill needed to achieve the final product so amazing. It must be such a strain on the fingers and the wrist considering all the detailed craftsmanship involved.
I'm not a shoe maker, but I do enjoy watching the process of hand making bespoke shoes. I've watched a lot of shoemaking videos but I've never seen anyone create their own last like this. The attention to detail is absolutely stunning!
The effort that goes into this is incredible! Even for the casts of the feet, they have to be made individually off each foot, I'm assuming, since people's left and right feet are rarely the same size.
My mother has commissioned a pair of bespoke shoes because she is finding it almost impossible to walk in off the shelf shoes. She has gone to an established last maker but it’s a dying trade in the UK. I’m just hoping so much that these shoes turn out to be the answer to her prayers. When you can’t walk in shoes because they are so painful life is really difficult. This beautiful video of the care and attention taken to sculpt a pair of shoes to be the perfect fit is inspiring.
All of the levelling technique and the extremely fine beveling alone! Exact measurements, cleanliness, quality materials, skill and control are exceptionally executed here.
I completely agree with all the great comments that you have received on this video. Your talent is tremendous! However, I must add that the skills you must possess to even maintain your tools are far greater than I could hope to achieve. That in and of itself is a tall order. Thank you very much for the video!
What a wonderful process! I´ve never seen the process of shoemaking, so much work, so arduous. Thank you very much for sharing. I've got two questions just out of curiosity (and ignorance): 1) have you considered making the molds as a 3d scan and then printing it? is that possible? could it be faster? 2) have you ever been asked to make leather sneakers. I would suppose that's a thing Again, thanks. Beautiful work.
Hello thank you very much. Yes it is possible to 3D print, I just don't like this way of doing it and it's not faster. When you draw a shape on software, it's not the same thing as being able to actually see it, touch it, see the final result. For the sneakers, it's not in my current projects because it's not very interesting to make it custom. It is easier to find comfortable sneakers on the market than dress shoes.
I had always thought "aren't machines also somehow operated by hand?" whenever I saw HAND MADE on a product. Now I know for sure what that means. Beautiful!
Loved seeing all your solutions to little problems, like the 16:16 around the pencil, the better handle on your knife, using a grappler gun to fix the sole, and the mould making process, its perfect. Thanks for sharing and amazing work.
Absolutely astonishing craftsmanship, attention to detail.. incredible.. few as good, none better.. must be so comfortable to wear, gloves for your feet.. thanks for sharing..

Amazing work! I do have a question: around 5:56 You start shaving down parts of the mold. How does this not lead to the finished shoe being too small for the foot?
Hello, Thank you. I don't remove material, I move it elsewhere to give comfort when walking and so that the edges of the shoe sit well against the skin. The circumference of the ankle stays exactly the same, but it becomes oval instead of round. Thank you for your relevant comment.

You talk an awful lot of rubbish and you have not been reading my posts, otherwise you would not be saying these things!
I thought shoeing horses looked hard to do...I held my breathe watching your exquisite workmanship. So much patience and skill. Enjoyed it so much.
Literally a work of art! That was so satisfying to watch. Beautiful, perfect. Just to have one pair of custom-made shoes would be a bucket list for anyone. Truly amazing my friend.
Incredible artistry! I'm at a loss for words at the level of skill and care you exhibit in this project, from last manufacture to final finish touches. The only thing missing is the look of satisfaction on the patron's face as he takes his first step! BRAVO sir, bravo!
However much a pair of handmade shoes cost, clearly they are worth every cent. The tremendous skill required to craft them, is a joy to watch. Thank you so much for this vid!
Absolutely amazing! Would it be possible to add a title on the screen for each step, so those of us who are not shoemakers can learn?
Quieres una nieve también
I mean it's not an instructional or a slide show. They make classes to learn this stuff
@@randomblockofwood classes are expensive. That's why people use TH-cam.
Good lord.
I see that my comment may have been misunderstood. What I meant is learning what each step is called, not actually learning how to make shoes.
It genuinely warms my soul to know such bespoke craftsmanship still exists.
Thank you for sharing your talent.
I’ve always wanted to make my own custom leather shoes. Thanks for demonstrating how easy the steps are. Simple as 1, 2, 3…….thousand…
But really, very beautiful work!
Easy???

You'll cut your thumb off before you even start and your shoes will fit Bozo the clown...🤡
@@abelis644 Hopefully a clown that can recognize sarcasm!
Absolutely spellbinding to watch. Extra thanks from me because this brought back so many long forgotten memories, of my beloved grandfather and his shoemaking, of the textures and smells, of my "job" as his tiny polishing assistant. Such happy times ❤️
Thanks for not putting music with your video. I love to hear the actual process. Fantastic work!

Great work!
Lmao I would be shocked if these were anywhere under $300.
Err customs are $2k +
My post should point out the fact that everybody want cheap stuff. But handcrafted stuff CAN‘T be cheap!
This is by far the best handmade video I’ve ever seen. I’ve been a repairman for many years, and I learned a ton of things about handwork. Great video!!!
Браво. Высший пилотаж. Сейчас таких мастеров нет делающих от А до Я.
These aren't shoes, they are works of art. Can only imagine how the owner would feel with these on their feet. Had no idea how much went into making a pair of bispoke shoes. How razor sharp those tools must be.
I was cringing so much imagining myself probably cutting off my fingers with these. Such talent and craftsmanship!
Start to finish a masterful display of craftsmanship. You truly are a gifted man, a King's Cobbler if you will.
Wooooow! Best looking pair of shoes I've ever seen. Great craftsmanship and dedication to work. Your attention to detail is beyond a normal human. I love them. How can I have a pair made please?
Hello, thank you very much, you can contact me by email, it is in the description of this video.
Were you able to get one for you?
You saw how this person made it. Make them yourself!
@@Alex-tt1vp lmfao "make it yourself", are you dense? You try making a pair of shoes from scratch.
@@randomuploaderguy If I felt so compelled I would give it a go, why not? He shows in this video the steps more or less. Can fill in the blanks with other sources.
Gripping, soothing, absorbing -- and no distracting music. Thank you so much.
Shoemaking has been a mystery to me since I was young. I was really excited to watch this. Thank you for posting it. Wonderful job!
That was most incredible to watch. My grandfather always had his boots handmade, I have a new appreciation for the quality ♥
Mine too! Even now the first thing I notice about everyone is their shoes

An insane amount of work and craftsmanship...and not an elf in sight!
Thanks for uploading.
I can't imagine a shoe being more comfortable than one literally hand made around your foot.
does it accomodate movement? perhaps the shoe at first wear should be soaked in water to stretch correctly.

Breathtakingly beautiful! I literally shed a tear at the end due to the absolute beauty! Bravo.
When he said handmade, he meant HANDMADE. Very impressive.
Literally
Leatherally impressive indeed.
Surprised he didn't weave his own laces, thread and nix his own resins. He put more work into the lasts than most would put into the whole process.

Art.
I’ve wanted a pair of bespoke shoes made with leather for so long. You’ve got my longing back going again. Don’t have the bucks for it though. All I can do is dream. Making skills and great video production!
I've never recognised how much work it is to make a pair of shoes.
In my opinion this is also art.
I have much respect for good handwork.
I would definitely handle shoes like this with special care.

Brilliant work! The closer to the finish - the more I prayed you would not make a mistake. Otherwise, so much work and time would be wasted!
Phenomenal work! Such a joy to see this level of craftsmanship. I imagine that the shoe trees were built on last of your foot as well. Just amazing. Thanks for sharing
That may be one of the most fascinating processes I have ever watched! Of course now I want a pair! I cannot imagine how well those shoes fit!! Thank you for sharing these beautiful shoes and your superb skills!!
From a saddler here in Queensland Australia of 49yrs. That was truly splendid watching. I've done a few of the hidden stitch on my saddles as to you doin iton the soles.
I agree amazing.i have seen Nicole Rudolph on her channel making a mould from masking tape for handmade 1920 's shoes
@@romystumpy1197 I love the shoes Nicole Rudolph makes!
Просто потрясающе!одно неловкое движение-и все пропало.настоящее искусство
I completely agree with all the great comments that you have received on this video. Your talent is tremendous! However, I must add that the skills you must possess to even maintain your tools are far greater than I could hope to achieve. That in and of itself is a tall order. Thank you very much for the video!
What a wonderful process! I´ve never seen the process of shoemaking, so much work, so arduous. Thank you very much for sharing.
I've got two questions just out of curiosity (and ignorance):
1) have you considered making the molds as a 3d scan and then printing it? is that possible? could it be faster?
2) have you ever been asked to make leather sneakers. I would suppose that's a thing
Again, thanks.

Amazing craftsman at work here. Great video!
@@alexandrefaure7247 thank you, I had exactly the same concern.
@@alexandrefaure7247 This was the purpose of the string, I think? To ensure that the circumference after re-shaping was the same as it was before?
