In this video I show you how to make shanked insoles from scratch using veg-tan leather.

Thank You a lot, here in Latvia we cant buy readymade insoles as you have so I will try to make them from cardboard, but I have a question- how can I form the cardboard by myself- do I have to wet it as well as you did it with leather? :)

I have a pair of gorgeous DG high heel mules. I took them to the best cobbler in Dallas to tighten one of the straps, but now the shank is “floppy” and they are unwearable. Did he forget to put the shank back in? Can I send them to you to have a look. I’ve even gone to the best cobbler in NYC and they won’t touch them. If you could repair them, I would be forever grateful…right now I have $2000 USD that can only be used as art in my closet.

Is it possible to use a bigger size of last to make a smaller sized shoe? Example, use size 40 to make size 39/39

Sadly no, the last is what determines the size of the shoe ⭐️

Hi, you could add rivets for extra security, but its not necessary - this method is secure enough :)
