@@LivingtheSprings There is nothing in Colorado Springs that is even interesting. My thoughts about Colorado/Colorado Springs: Too much traffic here because of tourism. Lots of pot holes on the roads and lots of construction going on all of the time. It seems like a lot of people are moving here and the infrastructure is not able to support it anymore. There are also no good paying jobs for the most part since Colorado Springs did nothing to keep the high tech companies that were here when they were here and we do nothing to try and attract companies here who could bring in good paying jobs as they give all of the money to the olympic training center due to this place wanting to cater towards tourism only as a main source of income. Government jobs here that hire a lot of military people also require that you already have a high level security clearances. Lots of minimum wage jobs here that most donot want. cost of living here is very high and it keeps going up like everywhere else. rental property, property taxes, homes buying, home owners insurance, auto insurance or renting are high for what you get and apartments monthly rent is very high just like everywhere else. we have tornado's here, hail, flash flooding, cold weather and snow and the climate here is dry, not humid and we have fires here. we get a lot of wind in general since we are so close to the mountains. In 2023 The colorado Sun said that we hosted 93.3 million visitors in 2023. which explains the conditions of our roads. And guess what; since there is no tourism tax. The people that live in colorado pay for the wear and tear of the roads cause by those 93.3 million visitors in 2023 through taxes. A lot of bad drivers here since a lot of people come here from someone else and they have their own version of driving and a lot of road rage. A lot of road traffic delays during certains time of the day everyday. coloradosprings.gov/system/files/2024-10/2025pbudget-00-04-glanceprofile.pdf

I’ve been to Colorado Springs, once back in Jan. 2003. That cold was no joke lol didn’t get to do too much. I should’ve went during another time. I see that it has grown quite a bit since then though!
@@gr8myndmuzic You actually came during the coldest month. January is also snowy. Our fall, is soo beautiful. I’ve been here 40 yrs and have traveled extensively. But I still recommend the Springs.
Have you ever gone outside of Colorado Springs to other cities in other states? - I have lived in Virginia, North Carolina, Nebraska and Florida and believe me none of them are like Colorado. Nebraska is much colder and sadder, it's like desolate, North Carolina is too fast, you can't imagine how fast the traffic is there and the people are rude and very harsh, there is no warmth or empathy, and the weather is hot and very humid. Virginia is boring, there is nothing new, it's like a routine in circles, and Florida is so hot and humid all year round, too many people that you suffocate.
Also, the city doesn't provide trash service to the residents. There are multiple trash companies in town, and if you get a house you have to hire a trash service company. This means that there are trash trucks everywhere on any given day. Random houses with trash cans on the curb waiting to be picked up is a common sight on every street. And it's normal to have only 15-20% humidity all week.
Of course you're correct needing a fairly high yearly (gross) income to be a home-owner in Colorado Springs...but also of course in a HUGE part that's because of the current mortgage interest rate. It's amazing -- almost magical (!) -- how affordable these $450K-500K homes become when the price stays the same (as now) but the interest rate drops lower. RENTING now I can do (even at the slightly more expensive "luxury" apt complexes)...life could be worse than living there. But buying? Not just yet. So for me, the only option is "renting while waiting" (and preparing). BTW, am still seeing (slowly but surely) price reductions continuing in Banning-Lewis Ranch (their new carriage-home communities way out East on Dublin). Although home prices in their 55+ community ("The Retreat") are still holding fairly high, I DO see some reductions occasionally there as well. Living in Colorado Springs is not the greatest... Colorado taxes everything and I mean everything. Veterans are treated poorly, the dryness and winds are tough to your body, and people are rude and mean. Driving 10 miles takes a minimum of 30 minutes and the drivers do not seem to know how to drive... no blinkers, tailgating, and cutting in/out of traffic. Homeless are everywhere and are always getting in your face. You have to watch where you walk, keep your items close and secure, or they will take it. They crap in the streams, trash everywhere, including syringes, broken drug pipes, and human poop. Housing is not good, a 1 bdr 1 bath apartment starts at 1300.00 a month, and houses 2 bdr 1 bath starts at 2500.00 month. Buying a home is astronomical. The roads are awful... potholes are very deep!!!
Thank you for video. I have been living in Florida around 20 years. Man, I am ready to move out of here because everything getting more expensive as water bill, electric bill gas bill ....if you rent a single house 3 and 2 here at least $1800 or 2000 a month plus water, electric, gas and ...total monthly is $3500. But, you make money is the same as 5 years ago. Summer here is a horrible humite and very hot I really do not like it at all. The city water here in FL, Volusia is very very dirty and here is bad school for your children -C school. especially, every year big storm and now we are deal with big Milton storm it is very scarily as you seen it on TV now. I use to live in cold weather I like it, but I don't know why I live here in FL so long but not I must move out of here asap. thankssss
I liked your Video. I have been living in Colorado Springs since 2012, and in all honesty I dont understand what everyone talks about when saying it is pretty here. What is pretty? I get a chuckle every Autumn when people are like lets take our 45min to hour or more drive to see the trees change color. As for Hiking yeah lots of hiking, if your idea of hiking is wide open trails where the sun just cooks you. And the prettiest thing about the Springs is the mountain. But once you drive up there you realize it isnt very pretty. The best mountain area I have found here is 4 hours away in Steamboat or up in Brekenridge. I came here from Upstate NY and imo Colorado Springs couldnt hold a candle to the beauty of upsate NY. Can't wait to move back.
Homelessness/vagrancy is a huge issue all over Colorado. Denver decided to become a "sanctuary city" and it has trickled all over Colorado. Colorado is not just Denver. Total disaster.
I've been living here for years. It never used to be the way it is now because of the influx of people from other states that came during the legalization of marijuana and they ended up staying. A lot of towns and cities have went to total shit the last few years. Now meth and fentanyl is rampant here, my car has been broken into 3 times this year so don't leave anything valuable in your vehicle and if you drive a Kia or Hyundai make sure you install a fuel kill switch on it.
I visited Colorado Springs once about fifty years ago. The racial/ethnic segregation in those days was obvious, but might have changed. Tornadoes hardly ever strike the areas close to the mountains, which shouldn't have changed. I heard that most people can adjust to the altitude (and consequently low oxygen levels) within several months, but I was so seriously affected that I absolutely had to leave several days ahead of schedule, and needed a week near sea level to recover. That is probably because of pulmonary scarring from pneumonia when I was a kid.

I use to live in cold weather I like it, but I don't know why I live here in FL so long but not I must move out of here asap. thankssss
@@DanNguyen-th5gp I live in FL and I hate hot so much. I plan to move CO soon
These are Texas prices I have a two bedroom duplex that I pay $1700 monthly..
Well a big no no cause of asthma the fires well thanks for the info colorado off
Good point! I hadn’t thought of asthma!
Saw an old naked lady one day on south Nevada on the way to fort Carson .
Wonderful stuff there
So sad 😔
too expensive wont EVER move there no way nope nope
Colorado Springs is a best kept secret
I think it’s only going to get better honestly 😉
Ii use to be
Homelessness/vagrancy is a huge issue all over Colorado.
Yeah people in Denver keep telling me that Colorado Springs is getting hood and ghetto now
depends on where you live
In short words we have bipolar weather so have an emergency survival kit in your car.
It ain’t lined with trees and there is no fresh, cool, pond/lake in every neighborhood
Some neighborhoods 😊
I VISIT ONE TIME BUT I DID NOT LIKE SPRING,S TO MANY WATER SNAKE,S COME OUT COST A LOT OF RENT.
Yikes on the snakes! I've not seen a ton of those, just now and again over the years but it's rare
That is probably because of pulmonary scarring from pneumonia when I was a kid.
wow on the altitude! Thank you for sharing!
Detroit and New York weather is worse
I don’t disagree 😁 at least here we get mostly sunshine
@@kdeloris2225 No way is weather worse in New York than Colorado Springs.
What I like about Colorado Springs is definitely the nearby Incline.
Love the incline! It’s been years since I’ve done it though it’s so packed anymore
Every other sentence is redundant to elongate the video and then repeated again. Not worth the watch, even at increased speeds.
Thanks for watching!
So, basically, a real estate agent said "don't move here". Lovely.
We do need to raise tourism tax! I think they're working on that one. It's been the same for 50 years!
@@pandafan4672 Maybe people should believe what she is saying. I've lived in Colorado all my life, mainly Denver but Colorado Springs too. I've seen Many changes and None for the good.
Man... I wish I knew all this before I was born. Such a goofy mistake.
🙂
Love your content! I’m looking to relocate from St. Louis, MO and I also used to live in Chicago from 2005-2010. Colorado Springs seems like a good fit overall, but it’s a struggle finding pet-inclusive rentals. It also doesn’t seem like I’ll be able to afford anything in Colorado Springs when I’m ready to buy a home.
Thank you! I appreciate it! Do you have a big dog?
@@LivingtheSprings a 25lb chihuahua mix and 3 female cats who are spayed. I haven’t rented since 2017 as I own a 2 bed/1 bath 960 sq ft. home (EMV 180K). When I did rent, I only had 2 cats at the time. I wish property management companies were more flexible and willing to work with responsible tenants and pet owners.
We just moved to Colorado Springs from TX because we lost everything in Hurricane Beryl.
Plus, our youngest Son has been living here for around 10yrs.
It's definitely different, the people!
Great people but they express their own way of living.
Traffic is hell & many drive like NASCAR Drivers or lots of Street Racers in Cars & motorcycles.
Cost of living is high dollar also.
$1200 for a decent 2br
Yeah the driving can be nuts! Thank you for sharing!
Texas drivers are far far far far worse. Im a native Texan who has also lived in Colorado, due to the military.
Hi Iris
****A homeless person has money to pay for a ticket? Common sense is not used here.
Stay out of Arizona State too. Florida is the heavenly state for you.
😂😂
You lived there for 40 years!? Girl you don't look a day over 30😮
Hey thanks! You totally made my day! 😅
Hey! I know you! Lol
Heyyyy! 🙌🏼
Really got whiplash from you complaining about the homeless, a man yelling at a homeless person.. and then your takeaway was "wow, they aren't even playing the violin". Sheesh
And started that story by saying it was a funny story. SMH. Awful.
@@Evers406 I didn't even realize she started with "funny story".. humanity/empathy just escapes some people.
Not complaining just stating an observation but thanks for watching
Sorry you felt that way but just pointing out the fact there are also scammers here
Criminalizing homeless people is wrong. 😮
No really we need to focus on how to not only preserve the greatness of colorado but improve it but its government is completely communinist. Sheltering and taxing it to destructionn. With its expensive gas prices at Around $4.00 a gal. And price of eggs, that unless youre at wal mart our king soopers/safeway eggs cost around $7 and beef around $6.90
I just spend $7 on 18 eggs :( Sam's Club is best for buying eggs
@LivingtheSprings I live in central west Georgia. I just got back from a week vacation to Colorado Springs and Denver. It was absolutely beautiful to see. The weather was beautiful but would change up quickly. I prefer the no humidity there than hot humidity here. We went grocery shopping at king soopers where prices were comparible if not some items cheaper than here. Also gas was around 2.80 to 3.20 a gallon same as here in south that really surprised me. Denver didn't really impress me much. I wouldn't mind going back to Colorado Springs again
Are there gangs in the Springs?
yes their everywhere
@@nanananaman Thats a shame.
Extremly gentrified over priced groceries and price of living. Democrat government has not only ruined state, but has digressed/and decreased its cost spent per mile on road infrastructure to bring it's cost spent per mile on roads to atound 43rd in the nation but with a growth rate ranked within the top ten nationally in this metric. The curbs are 90° angles qnd are 12 inches high. They dont have a organized government with high cost of living but beautiful moutains.
@@brenden9553 Just wait until January. You will wish it was a Democrat in power. Mark my words.

I live in Portland, OR and have always lived with the "Whitest City in America" designation. I just read this morning that Colorado Springs has outpaced Portland on the numbers of white people. Other than that, I know nothing about the city. It sure looks nice in photos, though.
It is beautiful here
