COS Native here. If you are in tech, just be aware that pretty much all of the tech jobs here are defense contracting of one form or another. So if you want to work here, you pretty much have to have some kind of security clearance. In some cases, you might even have to work in a Secure Room (SCIF). However with the rise of remote work, it can be pretty easy to get a remote job or possibly a hybrid job in the Denver metro area where you have to drive up a couple of days per week.
We live in Denver and travel to Colorado Springs a couple times a month just to hang out. We have a couple favorite restaurants, shops, bakeries, hiking areas, etc. While we love Denver we love COS just as much, it’s absolutely beautiful, especially the older more urban parts of the city.
Moving back to COS in June. Lived there for 5 years, then moved to NC, and we are coming back and will retire out of the Army there. We can’t wait; I am excited, wife’s excited, and kids are excited! We can’t wait. We are counting down the days!!!! I am just watching all of the COS videos just remember how awesome it was there and how much fun we will have again.
Hey! I will be moving to the Springs in November. Your videos helped a lot getting a feel for the city, this past week i went to the springs to explore and get a feel for the City and i loved it. Cant wait to move from FL to CO.
You should also go check out the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society. They have star parties where they bring out their telescopes and show the public the universe. It is amazing, especially up in the mountains.
Hello Friend! I will be moving from Chicago to the Springs after the New Year. I previously lived there in 2021 for a few months to enjoy myself while I studied for certs and I miss it. That being said, I now have a Tesla Model S and am a little worried when it comes to the hail season (LMAO)! Do you have any recommendations when it comes to managing this somehow?.. I have heard people use radars and have alerts they will get notified and that will make them keep it in the garage. Thanks
Hey James! That’s super exciting! Luckily hail clouds have a certain look, and you can usually sort of tell if it’s going to hail. Look up a picture and you’ll kinda see what I mean. Biggest thing I’d say is just try to stay parked in the garage or under a carport if possible and just have a lower insurance deductible if you want to be extra safe!
