    The design may not be for everybody, but from somebody who owned a fifth generation Mustang; I love the new look, so much so that I bought myself one!
    My few gripes about the car;
    -Significantly less head room in the back seats
    -The GPS is recessed into the dash
    -The seat belt is too high, rubs on your neck
    -Manual seat tilt (electric everything else) and the lever is located in a bad spot under the seat belt
    Petty issues, but those are the only things that keep it from being perfect IMO.

    Man I'm really liking that interior... I agree with him about that center hump though. It's one of my pet peeves when a manufacturer tries to do an upscale interior but makes a part that you touch heavily out of something cheap feeling. I used to have a 2008 MINI and the b-pillars had nicer plastic than the dash did. Blargh.
    Anyways, Miles is getting better every time.. great job and entertaining to watch too!

    Mustang GT with automatic is like ordering a huge burger with tons of fries with a diet coke

    • @05gtdriver
      @05gtdriver 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Funny, isn't a Nissan GTR an automatic? I guess Cheeseburgers and Diet Cokes are what GTR owners eat all day long, huh?

    • @Ara198826
      @Ara198826 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      05gtdriver but GTR is not offered with a manual and Mustang GT is ...that is the point bro.

    • @Ara198826
      @Ara198826 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oxofon Tulen if you wanna buy a mustang , you are probably looking to have fun ...so if you get automatic , it will be like a buying a more powerful ford fusion ...but if you get the manual ...every time you drive it you get the same thrill ...just my opinion

    • @05gtdriver
      @05gtdriver 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Ara J You need to realize too, not everyone is under 30-35 years old and drive their car 8/10ths most of the time. Many people(myself included) are over 45 years old, use their Mustang as a daily driver and enjoy the comfort and ease of use of an automatic transmission.The previous 3 Mustangs I owned were manual cars(loved them!), but now I am not concerned with ultimate performance, but a great daily driver that still has some scoot to it. Cheers!

    • @Ara198826
      @Ara198826 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      05gtdriver you are right , but if you are over 45 and you want a car for everyday uses , then get a family sedan ...perhaps a Camry XSE with V6 ...Idk even between Porsche PDK and a 4 speed manual ..I'll go with the 4 speed all day even though the PDK will smoke it ...I'm more interested in the driving experience rather than comfort or performance ....salute you sir ...cheers .

    I really like this car, and I am a long term European Car owner (have a E55, M6, and Lotus Elise)...The looks are great and the engine is world class. 15MPG...I wish my M6 ever hit that!...and the rear leg room didn't seem that bad at all...Good job America...Ford is on it's game to be sure...

    Why do everyone hate on automatic I drive 2015 automatic select shift in select shift mode I put up the same time 0-60 4.5 as a manual get what u want it's ur money welcome to 21 century

    • @cloudchaser8297
      @cloudchaser8297 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      new automatic shift so fast it pays to get one now. older tech auto transmission were terrible. my father has a 2013 xkrs and it has a auto with paddle shifting and shifts really fast . he needs to get the pully and tune upgrade to bring it up to 640 hp and lessen the hesitation off the line because jaguar has a slight hesitate when you nail the gas from a complete stop. he had a xkr before he traded for the rs. even tho the rs is more powerful the xkr had a way nicer ride and was just as fast.

  • @OverKillionaire
    @OverKillionaire 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    This type of paddle shifting "issue" is with pretty much any car that uses them. I've driven over a dozen cars that all do the same thing... "I'm done down shifting but I don't want to up shift, better throw my stick to the left then back to the right." Honestly it's not a problem when you're used to it, new drivers need to pay attention to this though. You can't really mess up the gears if you don't return to auto, it'll down shift for you if slowing down below the gear ratio window.

    Hey FLD! Huge fan of the show, I have been watching since 09. Most of the time the regular show works pretty good but the FLD tours are not up to par with the reviews out on TH-cam and the overall quality that I am used to get from you. I would advice to bump up the pace of the speech on the review ( it is monotonous in my opinion ). Include more footage while commenting and reduce the time you show the reviewer ( I would think of a 50-50 as the sweat mark). All the hosts deliver the script in a generic way. Try to include some of that DD energy. In my opinion the best FLD tour was the Genesis by DD.

    I own the 2015 mustang gt premium without the performance package. It is my first mustang and I love it. I have a few issues with it though, the main one are the brakes for this model and the ecoboost performance package which uses the same type of brakes. They squeal so loud when you apply the brakes at very slow speeds like your brake pads need to be replaced. It's been in the shop several times and no fix yet in sight. There are a lot of people with the same issue. So if you are interested in buying the mustang GT be warned.

    • @dcinhere
      @dcinhere 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its A BRAND NEW car with brand new brakes. Of course they are going to squeal its called BREAK IN!!! How many miles on it? I wouldn't worry too much about it. Im sure an aftermarket pad or rotor is coming soon and will eliminate this problem all together.

    • @JamesAlucard
      @JamesAlucard 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Started at 300 miles. 2000 miles later it's still there. Check out the forums at themustangsource. Some have gotten confirmation that a TSB is coming. But ford has been saying that for a few weeks now. And they wouldn't even say what is causing it.

    I own this car and IDK what he's talking about as far as the transmission. If im on the highway in D 6th gear and pull the down paddle it changes down to 5th pretty instantly and once I lift (after overtaking or whatever reason I changed down for) it immediately jumps back up to 6th and resumes normal function. I dont know exactly what you mean by "wait a while" but im willing to say for me in my car the transition is sub 5 seconds. I would guess that its faster than changing from D to S and back to D.
    A bigger criticism I have is that theres no constant gear indicator on the display. You have no choice but to pull a paddle or go in S to see where you are. Even when in S the gear indicator isn't great.

  • @gannas138
    @gannas138 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great review. Just like to point out that your comment about how the transmission acts when using paddles, going back to D from S etc etc, my Audi S4 does the same thing so in that regard I think its the nature of the Auto transmissions having D and S/S+. Also like you said if youre looking for fuel economy then a buyer wouldnt be getting the 5.0 so that extra little fuel consumption while the car switches from S to D on its on is moot.

    Pony car, Miles, pony car.
    Muscle cars are few and far between these days, and most that would be close are actually well sorted sports sedans (M5, SS, AMG cars).
    The only Muscle Car I could really think of would be the Charger Hellcat
    That said, nice review, you did a great job. The new Mustang is a huge step up from the old ones and it really feels like it's worth what it costs (at least initially).

    Have you guys driven the 2015 Challenger yet? How do they compare? I've test-driven both (by which I mean the dealers let me take them around a flat rectangular block once), so I didn't get to experience their full handling/ride characteristics.
    The key differences I noticed were that the Dodge has bigger blind spots and is just a bigger, harder car to drive all around (especially if you need to squeeze into tight spaces), but it actually has decent back seats. On the other hand, the Mustang is a much easier car to drive (smaller, quicker, better visibility, etc.), but I'd feel guilty putting anyone into those back seats.

    What exactly is in the performance package?
    I want to get it with just the LSD and Brembos but with the cheaper 18 in wheel option (Will be trading my 13' V6 but I have Winter tires for 18 in rims, and I have nice 20in staggered rims with Nitto tires for Summer and Spring). Wondering if anyone knows if such a combination is possible, I don't want like 3 sets of rims.
    (Also, do floor and trunk mats from 13-14s fit on the new 15s? I have friends that would buy them, but the cars have pretty similar dimensions on the interior).

    I don't like that it looks more like ford fusion coupe then mustang. I like 2014 mustang the best. It looks like real mustang.

    This design is old. This was what was suppose to be the mustang after the fox body. Look at the concept mach 3 or something. All these American muscle cars are made with parts made in mexico or canada. Look under this car & you will see made in mexico all over it. I want a mustang that goes 0-60 in 4 sec 1/4 mile in 12 sec out of the box that gets 30mpg city. Im buying a camaro. Why not. Already have a chally & stang.

    Why oh why does you call handbrake "e-brake". For a sec I thought they have an actual e brake instead of analogue handbrake.

    • @1DrunkSocialite
      @1DrunkSocialite 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Its short for emergency brake. In case the regular brakes fail.

    • @pinoyamo
      @pinoyamo 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Dillon T first of all I didn't say that and secondly if you're gonna drive a performance car driving it in manual is a lot more fun than driving it in automatic in my opinion and a lot of people would agree to that statement...that's like saying you use ranch for your French fries instead of ketchup!

    • @TheDillinator
      @TheDillinator 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ***** ranch on french fries = so good. But for real Autos are becoming fast and faster these days and in higher ur cars like the porsche PDK they are already fast then manauls. Ive driven both manual and autos and find that autos are a lot better to drive going to work downtown ect. So I am leaning towards geting a auto GT and if people judge me from their 95 civic what do I care. Anyways I see why people like autos, Im not saying u did this but when peoole say ur not a man if u drive an auto it just annoys me

    Ford's never been one for intelligent engineering. Why package a speedometer that only goes up to 160 on a car with a top speed > 160 mph?

    • @volsfanalexlowe
      @volsfanalexlowe 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I not sure about this but it's probably got a governor that limits top speed to 155mph

    • @MrGencyExit64
      @MrGencyExit64 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      alex bo My 370z has the same limiter, but it doesn't end the speedometer at 160 mph. I think Nissan realizes that people _will_ reprogram the ECU and remove that limitation, and swapping out the dashboard once you do that is pretty inconvenient =P
      As cheap and easy as it is to tune a Mustang, it'd seem even more important not to do that :-\

      EscapeforMankind For the month? That's more cars sold in one month than Nissan manufactures in an entire model year for 370Z and GT-R combined :P
      No wonder nobody gives those cars a second glance when spotted in the wild, they reproduce like bunny rabbits.
