I love pony cars. I currently have a challenger R/T but it's a manual. One day my coworkers car broke down on the road and needed a pickup to get to work. When I picked him up the first thing he asked me what is that where the automatic handle should be. I then explained it's a manual. He had no idea what that was.
I purchased my pony about a little over a month ago-I had it built from the factory because I only wanted certain amenities-not all the bells and whistles. 5 liter, 401A interior package, Sync w/voice control, 19" wheels and automatic. I absolutely love this car! I live in Cali and always commuting in heavy traffic hence, the auto transmission. I test drove the manual transmission and enjoyed it very much, but just couldn't subject myself to the extra work in a morning commute. Now what I like about this new model is being able to switch into sport mode. The exhaust becomes throatier and it takes off like a champ! I would've liked to see a sunroof but when you realize it's not possible because this model has an airbag under the headliner-a safety feature that is deployed if the car senses your gonna roll. Technology...catch the fever! All in all It's a fun car to drive and the interior package makes it enjoyable to drive-even in traffic, +the new body style draws a lot of attention. Satisfaction achieved. IMHO
This is exactly my plan, to get a 2015 GT with about 20K - 30K miles with the performance package. This looks like a good alternative to the 370Z that I was originally planning on getting.
No offense, but I'm SO tired of the "you're not a real driver unless you drive stick" people. It's just so childish. You're not a superior being because you prefer a manual. Driving a stick doesn't make someone tougher, or manlier or better. It's a preference. It seems like no car review in the world can't end without the obligatory "who wants an automatic? Get the stick!" It's just so old and I wish you and others would stop it. Say YOU prefer the manual, don't mock people that don't. Other than that, I love your reviews.
Aaron Starks Right on. If they like "manual" so much, they should have cars with manual windows, locks & brakes, air cooled engines, no AC, and they should stand in front of the car and manually crank the engine to start like the good old days, that is, no keyless push-button start nor ignition key.
I didn’t like this style when it came out. But it has grown on me and I bought one last week: 2016 GT convertible, Performance Package, stick. $28K. I only buy used and pay cash (I do not leverage depreciating assets). Love it!
If you don’t mind me asking how many miles did it have when you bought it and do u still have it, recently bought a 17 convertible w 51k miles for $33k

"Why would you get the automatic"... Maybe it is someone who does not know how to drive stick. Or doesn't want to. Or just stucks at shifting. All legit reasons... Considering you are an "everyday driver" type of reviewer (you don't do any instrumented performance tests or even set foot near a track), you should consider addressing all range of audiences. Yeah it is cool to like stick (and RWD and turn off electronic nannies). That's just what every internet car hero that wants to talk like clarkson and drift like harris say. I get it. But for the type of reviews that you do, you really shouldn't go there. Your reviews cover trunk space, dash quality, subwoofer, and heated cooled leather seats.. Yep I think most of those buyers will go for the automatic.
Enthusiasts care about all those things, but I still want a manual transmission in my car. This is a 435hp RWD V8 muscle car. Most people buying it will be enthusiasts and they should get a stick shift. If he's reviewing a Honda Accord... Yeah maybe he should be reviewing automatic.
James Min We actually had a chance to drive the automatic GT Mustang and it drives great as well. We wouldn't fault you for going with the automatic, but the new 6-speed manual is just a wonderful transmission and it makes the Mustang a true sports car. For those of you who can drive stick well and enjoy it, it's really the only way to go :)
James Min Why wouldn't you get the manual??? This is a sports car to begin with. You are robbing yourself of its true fun factor if you drive an auto version. Not really that hard to learn to drive stick. But if you must have an auto, well that is an option (that you actually pay more for).
The mustang enthusiasts I know are very excited about the ecoboost. Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, but how you can be disappointed with a independent suspension, rear while drive, turbo 4cyl that makes 310 hp for 25k, is completely beyond me.
no lol they look like they are but the mustang is much faster. challenger is just heavy as fuck not even fan boying since i dont like the mustang because im a more of a genesis guy which is faster engine by engine anyway when comparing by engine sizes.

Obviously if you live in a congested city, then a sports/muscle car isn't the best option for a person anyways. These cars were meant for stretching it's legs just like the nameplate sake.
Dime Slinger Well I live in Manhattan and I will be buying a 16 Camaro SS. Obviously just like you said these cars are meant for stretching their legs and I there are many beautiful roads outside the city I can do that. But just because I live in the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple doesn't mean I won't own a car I am absolutely in live with. You just make compromises. It's not the end of the world getting an Auto even though most of us would prefer the stick!
+Christopher Fermin well said. I suppose both of us have points in our own bigger pictures. Good luck on that gas mileage and parking, I've been to Manhattan.

I think the last generation mustang had electric steering also, so im not sure what year mustang your talking about @12:23. I have a modded 2011 and I drove a 2015, the thing I actually liked the most about the 2015 was the auto trans. My manual GT trans broke and the new 2015's automatic transmission had paddle shifters and seemed great. I also loved the seats which felt secure and comfortable and the telescoping steering wheel which allowed you to finally be able to get into a proper driving position. My 2011 doesnt have telescoping steering wheel and that sucks.

clapton924 Lightly optioned? The car had basically everything you could put on it. It was HEAVILY optioned. For $33,000 the car is the best value on the market with regards to performance/$. noob.
I'm not referring to the car in the video - he clearly states the car he is testing has a msrp of nearly $44k. I'm also accounting for $3-4k of sales tax, depending where you live.
clapton924 No matter what you think your saying, a $40,000 GT is not lightly optioned. I guess a definition of a lightly optioned car is defined by each person it applies, but I can get a GT with the Premium Package, upgraded stereo, performance package, and sensors with a grand to spare. Lightly optioned would be only with the PP, or just premium, which would result in $35k/$36k. This is also msrp, the cars are being discounted a good bit now for less. In short your wrong bud.
It's clear you are not comprehending what I'm talking about here. I encourage you to find a dealer that will sell you a GT premium with an out the door price of $35k, taxes included.
Agree....6sp manual the choice for me. I wish Dodge offered a manual in the Charger R/T...I would be driving that. But, the 8sp auto in the Charger is actually very good and I live the car
I llove the Mustang from A to Z but the one thing I hate is the fact that the six speed manual transmission is made in China where the automatic is made in the USA.Truthfully, the automatics are as fast as the manual with the auto-stick and all the electronic controls.
Eric Snowmane I usually like to keep that a secret ;). But I already did a review on the car a couple times. It's the 2013 Acura ILX 6-speed that I bought when it first came out. Haven't really driven the car much but I enjoy it when I do. Right now, I'm holding out for the upcoming Focus RS or Mazdaspeed 3... I also may go an entirely different direction and either get an 07-09 Honda S2000 or 2016 Mazda MX-5. -Sofyan
Redline Reviews OMG PLEASE GET THE S2K, then make a vlog channel that would be awesome to see. The S2K's value can only go up from now on, its going to be one of "those" cars.
nice review. and yes, the manual transmission is superior, and expected in an AMERICAN sports car. I'm glad they're still around. I enjoy shifting. again, nice review.
hamronD73 I dont wanna drive like an old person, so get the fuck outta bitch. Nobody needs your input on shit. Fucking always somebody gotta put their input where it don't belong because they have to feel important. Leave bitch.
+hamronD73 some people do not want to learn how to drive stick. for that put it in tiptronic mode. I know that I'd rather put my hand on my woman's thigh then to be glued to a shift knob
Hey, Hamron. Who died and made you king of telling others what to do? I see that you shut up for eight months, whats the problem you scared with your tail between your legs? Or did you go out to jerk your stick?
Getting the auto because I'm not going to use the car as a secondary car to Colin McRae around in, it's going to be my every day and only car that I'm planning on keeping for many years! I might not want to stick shift everywhere 24/7/365 for the next 15 years when almost all of my driving is in small towns with stoplights and speed cameras etc rather than highways, even though it would be really fun to manually shift in some situations.
Automatic transmission is the best way to go for a daily driver for a sports car shifts are faster then a Manuel transmission, but Manuel give you a more spirited drive.
Holy crap! For everybody who gave this dude James min a thumbs up for his automatic comment, please do us all a favor and buy a Honda Accord or Ford Fusion with an auto and leave the muscle cars, sports cars with a manual for the rest of us. Manual tranny is dying because of ppl with that mentality. Learn to drive stick please. More satisfying.
WarmSoftKitty thats actually not true,my dad drives a explorer sport trac manual and it has way more power and better acceleration then most trucks on the road. Manual has overall better power than aoutomatic, not to mention this mustang is a fucking v8. That alone smokes most automatics. v8+manual= fucking speeding tickets mate
WarmSoftKitty it may be slower than dual clutch trannies but that's not the point. Point is it is very satisfying shifting a manual gearbox. Wether it be drag racing or road course. Hitting that heel toe just right to get you out of a corner, that kind of satisfaction can't be had by an auto. If you aren't a pro racer.....wtf does 1/10th of a second matter anyhow?(that's the difference between the auto Camaro and a manual btw)
WarmSoftKitty not sure how it's over complicated? If you're good at it, it should be natural. Obviously you're not good at it. It's kinda like saying the keyboard gamers are archaic and over complicated. It's not once it becomes natural to you. Have you ever been to a track day or drag nights? 99% of the cars out there are manual. It is the preferred transmission for enthusiasts. Like I said in my first post, learn to drive.
WarmSoftKitty wtf I'm not talking about daily driving a manual tranny, you idiot. Anybody can do that. I'm talking about racing with a manual tranny. When you are in the higher rpm ranges and you are braking into a corner, in order to properly downshift, you have to rev match/heel toe. Now I know you don't know wtf that means because I will bet u 1000 bucks you've never been to a track day. Look at my channel, I own a Toyota supra twin turbo. I own a evo 8. I own a eg hatch with a type r motor. And guess what? All manuals. I live 15 miles from Infineon/Sonoma raceway. Post some shit of what you drive and what track you been to. Other wise, gtfo here with that troll bullshit
Redline Reviews, why don't include a demonstration of the sound system in cars? It is a large portion of the decision for many buyers, yet I've never seen you show it. Is there a particular reason?
apparently the adaptive cruise and forward collision comes on the manual transmission models as well, i'm not sure how they can manage that if you're in only one gear...
That is one awesome car! The problem is driving around in a Mustang will make me feel too old, as I will have to put extra effort in keeping my cool and driving around responsibly. I currently drive around in a classic Mercedes-Benz. Feels appropriate.
3:43 "These leather fucket seats are standard" I do love the look of this Mustang. I was so disappointed with the 05 body style that they kept for so long. Great change, and great review. Thanks for sharing.
I drive a manual 2014 GT is Washington D.C. traffic daily. The only advantage autos have is that they are most of the time now faster at the track once mods begin. It is ridiculously easy to get a Coyote 5.0 auto into the low 11's.
I would love to have the manual shift option, but as a daily driver in Atlanta, it's not really practical. My maxima was a manual shift and after about a year of 3 hr (in the city)round trip commutes, I began to HATE driving it.
Sofyan Bey, on the next review, is it possible you can test drive a 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT? I want to see how it drives. I did heard it's faster than most of the muscle cars. It rated at 707 HP.
Love your videos man! The only thing that irritates me is every single time you encourage people to get a manual. We get it, that's what you like. But I for one, prefer my automatic.
+Jonathan T I personally think that manuals are a blast to drive! I've been driving a manual 2016 mustang for 2 months, and it makes driving a lot more entertaining. Once you figure out the basics it becomes second nature. Then you can work towards faster shifting, and learn techniques like rev matching downshifts and heel toeing. I respect your decision if you daily your mustang and have to put up with tons of traffic, but if not you're missing out!
+Driv3n to Dr1ve Yeah my ZL1 is my daily lol. The only advantage a manual would give me is slightly better gas mileage. But then again when you own a ZL1 who cares about that lol. And trust me, I respect manual guys a lot, just not manual elitist.
Great car, but since people complained about the 'poor' interior of the Mustangs in the past, they've made it more premium, thus increasing the overall price of the vehicle. :I
MSRP may be in the low $40's with a lot of options but look online at a big Ford dealer in you will see "Internet Prices" of about $5k less than the MSRP.
It comes with America's best car security feature a Manual Gearbox :D
+ateazy12 And you don't have to worry about people asking to drive it..lol

Kevin Konig Mustangs are not that expensive, but if it is expensive to you, look away.

Kevin Konig If a mustang is too expensive (emphasis on 'too') then you're doing something wrong with your life.

clapton924 Lightly optioned?
Loved your review of the Mustang.
Very disappointed they put the old v6 looking grill in the v8 in this generation
They didn't, this grill is part of the 50 year anniversary edition package.
That grille is only for the 50th Anniversary models. ...I agree though, not a fan of how it looks.
Very good review! Makes me want one even more than before.
No. The reviewer is correct. You must get the manual. Period.
Spillow get whatever you want. I prefer manual. Who cares whatever someone else wants
Agree....6sp manual the choice for me. I wish Dodge offered a manual in the Charger R/T...I would be driving that. But, the 8sp auto in the Charger is actually very good and I live the car
Its my dream car
Same!!!
Same
+ProSyndicateIII A Mustang is your dream car..? Thats weak.
+Original Guru k
ProSyndicateIII Lame
I llove the Mustang from A to Z but the one thing I hate is the fact that the six speed manual transmission is made in China where the automatic is made in the USA.Truthfully, the automatics are as fast as the manual with the auto-stick and all the electronic controls.
*so happy that they made a fusion coupe! optional V8 plus RWD!! good job ford!*
PinoyShuffle -3 points for lack of originality.
oh and the hipster hat doesn't help your case ;)
justin bouche Talk about unoriginal! Fusion
queefreak no need to be so stingy now.
Justin bouche
Well U are stingy
Ponygt 662 hahaha!! you're back! how are you doing borney?
Bruh 32k new? They are going for 32k now 7 years later…wtf
Mustangs and Camaros are not sports cars, they're muscle cars. Corvettes Ferraris, and Lambos are sports cars.
AMDFX 99 They really don't man, and that's crazy lol.
Well, corvettes, Ferraris, and lambos are supersport/exotic..idk I consider Z's, STI's, Evo's, etc. "sport"
the z28 Camaro, and gt350r are most certainly sports cars
AMDFX 99 no buddy you can get one with a nice interior and AC and everything. You can daily drive a gt350r. It In fact is a sports car
AMDFX 99 no the FORD GT is a super car. and the GT 350r is a sports car. you can have whatever opinion you want i really don't care.
Do you trust the blind spot monitoring at all if not why? Because I don't really trust it all that much.
I've always wondered, you review a lot of different cars, but what kind of car do you own and drive for your typical day-to-day tasks?
Eric Snowmane I believe he still owns a Acura ILX.
I also may go an entirely different direction and either get an 07-09 Honda S2000 or 2016 Mazda MX-5.

..
Redline Reviews OMG PLEASE GET THE S2K, then make a vlog channel that would be awesome to see. The S2K's value can only go up from now on, its going to be one of "those" cars.
Redline Reviews the new MX-5 looks amazing just don't get it in red..
nice review. and yes, the manual transmission is superior, and expected in an AMERICAN sports car. I'm glad they're still around. I enjoy shifting. again, nice review.
Bro, slow down, you're suffocating me by how fast you're talking
Reminds me of when my wife is excited about a sale, I just pretend like I'm listening.
+Noscx lol
I have the same model in Black and I love/lust it!
$43K?!?!? WOW; what a bargain -- I'll take two! = )
Show Me What I Need To Know just wait a couple of years, you'll be able to get 12 of them for the same money lol
I saw a top of the line camaro zl1 for 10k more only. wow. The mustang is waaaay to expensive.
+Lori B the Camaro ZL1 is 61k. So no, the Mustang isn't overpriced at all. The 2013 Mustang was the one that was overpriced.
I got mine fully optioned (except performance pack) manual for 25k! Only
Has 23,000 miles
Any reason why these cars lose so much value. I'm seeing exact same car here in salt lake for 25k.
It´s nice to see a proper in depth car review.
I don't want the stick. Not everyone can drive stick. Just because your car is manual, doesn't mean its better.
hamronD73 who the fuck are you? Get out of here, goddamn shit.
hamronD73 I dont wanna drive like an old person, so get the fuck outta bitch. Nobody needs your input on shit. Fucking always somebody gotta put their input where it don't belong because they have to feel important. Leave bitch.
+hamronD73 how does driving stick make u a man. I know a lot of girls that drive stick. Please explain how driving autos makes u less of a man
+hamronD73 some people do not want to learn how to drive stick. for that put it in tiptronic mode. I know that I'd rather put my hand on my woman's thigh then to be glued to a shift knob
Hey, Hamron. Who died and made you king of telling others what to do? I see that you shut up for eight months, whats the problem you scared with your tail between your legs? Or did you go out to jerk your stick?
The best part is the turn signals never go out becuase the owner never use them anyway
That's not pony it's a full grown horse
Getting the auto because I'm not going to use the car as a secondary car to Colin McRae around in, it's going to be my every day and only car that I'm planning on keeping for many years! I might not want to stick shift everywhere 24/7/365 for the next 15 years when almost all of my driving is in small towns with stoplights and speed cameras etc rather than highways, even though it would be really fun to manually shift in some situations.
No testosterone whatsoever. So annoying to listen to this.
WarmSoftKitty a properly tuned v8 manual mustang would still smoke that
WarmSoftKitty it may be slower than dual clutch trannies but that's not the point.
Why does the car sound weird going from 1st to 2nd gear? Either its the camera or the additional background noise.
so i am getting this car for 23k ...should i buy it ??it has 5000 miles
yes
Sohish Rajbanc no way
Redline Reviews, why don't include a demonstration of the sound system in cars? It is a large portion of the decision for many buyers, yet I've never seen you show it. Is there a particular reason?
why is this guys voice so high?
He has the same sexual preference as you
It is widely believed that the reviewer is a member of the homosexual society
R lol
apparently the adaptive cruise and forward collision comes on the manual transmission models as well, i'm not sure how they can manage that if you're in only one gear...
Ryukachoo you shouldn't be using cruise control unless you're in top gear, and this car has plenty of torque to accelerate from low rpm
voice is kind of annoying
He speaks way to fast
***** Oh uh *cough* I will I will. Sorreh
Sounds like a flute.
Neil Ram I agree
That is one awesome car!
The problem is driving around in a Mustang will make me feel too old, as I will have to put extra effort in keeping my cool and driving around responsibly.
I currently drive around in a classic Mercedes-Benz. Feels appropriate.
The real king ever
3:43 "These leather fucket seats are standard" I do love the look of this Mustang. I was so disappointed with the 05 body style that they kept for so long. Great change, and great review. Thanks for sharing.
I watched the whole video. Awesome review.
Great review as always. If possible, could you maybe do a Jaguar F-Type R review? Great vid
One of my favorite youtube reviewers and channel! Are you going to do a 2015 WRX/STI anytime soon?
Which would you buy , the v6 or the ecoboost ???
Is there a 6cyl ecoboost ??
Thank´s for a good review
Neither! V8 only.
Ive had my V6 for a month and its amazing
I drive a manual 2014 GT is Washington D.C. traffic daily. The only advantage autos have is that they are most of the time now faster at the track once mods begin. It is ridiculously easy to get a Coyote 5.0 auto into the low 11's.
Excellent review! Very fun to watch
is it just me or does he slip the clutch a ton on the 1-2 shift?
How about Mazda CX3 is it good? yeah its not fast but is it good?
I would love to have the manual shift option, but as a daily driver in Atlanta, it's not really practical. My maxima was a manual shift and after about a year of 3 hr (in the city)round trip commutes, I began to HATE driving it.
Keep up the great reviews!!
interested in your opinion of the bmw m235i and it's comparison to the mustang and camaro
+James Inkrott It doesn't compare
I enjoy your reviews very much. I'm in the planning stage of purchasing a new car. Do you plan to review the Audi s5?
The GT model costs 98700 euro here in the Netherlands...
Which is about $108K us dollars...
hi does the automatic come with same gear ratio 3,73 or do they get 3.15
Previous gen had electric steering and it was adjustable as well.
Thanks for a very useful review. Well done.
when you show the trunk, your bag tag said MDW right ? that's a Southwest Airlines bag tag, right? haha I work for Southwest and I noticed it!
Sofyan Bey, on the next review, is it possible you can test drive a 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT? I want to see how it drives. I did heard it's faster than most of the muscle cars. It rated at 707 HP.
Should i get this our the zl1 camaro?
+Jonathan T Yea, the elitists are the worse. I don't mean any hate towards you driving an auto! The ZL1 is badass as it is lol.
Cant wait untill these come to the uk in rhd.
Glad you like it!
Great car, but since people complained about the 'poor' interior of the Mustangs in the past, they've made it more premium, thus increasing the overall price of the vehicle. :I
Great review
I can't decide on this or a ford raptor :(
which one is better automatic or manual???
MSRP may be in the low $40's with a lot of options but look online at a big Ford dealer in you will see "Internet Prices" of about $5k less than the MSRP.
Any plans to do a V6?
Did you notice the clutch engagement point was very high
Sofyan, how well does the Mustang deal with bumps on the road? thanks.
