Mumbo Jumbo I see you comment on these every week! I do wish you would produce more car-related content on the channel. If only the overlap between people who are into cars and people who are into watching British people play Minecraft on TH-cam was bigger... And as a Kiwi, I look forward to seeing more of these on our roads, even if it did have to wait for the death of the Commodore and Falcon
The worlds best motoring journo - end of story. Another entertaining and enjoyable review as always from the man who sets the benchmark for all motoring journos.........thanks Mr Harris.
Wow, I think that's a *VERY* positive review overall. It's good to see America finally producing world-class sports cars, and even better to see European reviewers giving them the recognition they deserve. Between this and the C7 Corvette, American manufacturers are finally getting it right.
Noble713 I hate to be this guy but the reason its so good is because it's been built to fit the Euro market and it's not really a solely American can because Ford Europe had a huge input
S Miller Go ahead and tell us what input Ford Europe had on the Mustang and don't be afraid to link sources. The Euro-spec Mustang isn't even built in Europe, it's still built in Michigan.
Noble713 Yep agree with that but still recognized as a very american car. Without considering the price, a 420hp european car is still more rigorous on every point than an american car. Except for the seats. Which are made by a german company.
You describe the Mustang GT perfectly. I smile every time I get in my GT. Whether I am just going down the road for milk or driving an hour to see family. Even in the U.S. I get waves and thumbs up all the time. Nothing beats the sound of that V-8. The car is one huge smile.
Man, say what you will about American cars but they are on a roll recently. The Mustang 350R which probably has one of the best V8 exhaust notes, the new Focus RS which looks like it's gonna be one sick hot hatch, then there's the new Ford GT which IMO has the best looking GTE spec car of the bunch and the 'Vette C7 ofcourse which is a thing of beauty and much speed. They are taking a serious whack at the European performance cars and are doing a damn fine job of it. :P
***** Yeah, the Focus was sold in Europe till now, they are bringing it to the US this year with the new model I think. And completely agree with the Mustang's EcoBoost model, it's a great engine and is highly tunable, has tons of potential in the right hands. :D
Roshan Torcy not to mention the leading luxury sedan, which also happens to be better-looking than any sedan that Europe (or anyone else) produces - the *T E S L A* . And - as silly as they are - you're not going to find anywhere near the stock horsepower of the mighty *Hellcats* in ....well, just about anything short of Ferrari or Bugatti. And that crackin' Z-28. The first Camaro I've cared for in a loooong time. Hell, the last one I liked was made before I was born, and I'm over 40! The U.S.A. has indeed come a good ways since the DOT-nightmare that was the late 70s/early 80s!!!
shaft9000 Minor nitpick: Teslas aren't hybrids, they're full electrics. And bloody fast; I recently got absolutely roasted by a P85D in my tuned Abarth...but the former has 691hp (!!!).
I'm imagining a german fellow sitting down at his desk in Munich , at the headquarters of BMW, crying in to his keyboard. He is just waiting for the emails from his superiors titled, "WTF did Chris Harris just say ?" pmsl
John Harrison I think the 350R is the car aimed at actually competing with the M3 C-class AMG model cars. It will be far more focused and its got a flat plane crank :D
Lazerus2008 There are still plenty of people in both Europe and North America who will buy a BMW over many other cars simply because it's a BMW. The badge counts for a lot.
Bloody marvellous! It has the Chris Harris stamp of approval, so now I 110% want one. Thank you for not being like other UK journalists and saying "it's too harsh a ride" or "It's not a sensible choice". Okay no it isn't quite sensible, but it's damn good, well priced, American fun.
The thing i love most about Chris's review is his uncanny ability to bring the most out of any car. Its not always about the numbers or style but the heart and soul of the machine. At the end of the day, he knows what it means to be, not only an auto-journalist but a true fan of automotive technology. I love this man!
I'm so happy you reviewed the new stang, I was never a mustang fan but this new generation won me over and I couldn't help but purchase one. I'm so glad it won a great automotive journalist over as well!
Seeing as how I've got one on order (without ever having driven one), I was trembling with trepidation as I clicked this. 'God, I hope he doesn't slaughter it...' I said to myself. But I see now, that Harris approves. And I know all is well. After all, Harris used to have a Focus RS, just like me :D
In that comment you talk about two cars you supposedly owned/own/going to own, no one cares or even properly believes you I hope you feel more important though
Andi Kravljaca big500 I'm in the same boat as you two. I've got a UK-Spec GT in Shadow Black on order and I've only ever seen one in person parked up on display in a Mall in PA (Ross Park, I think). I've never even sat inside one. s3.amazonaws.com/static.carthrottle.com/workspace/uploads/posts/2015/07/20150714_141058-55a70d64bf811.jpg The fact that a reviewer that I trust who is known for not talking any bullshit has given it the thumbs up has made me legitimately giddy and excited.
Congrats to Chris Harris, you are now our Top Gear host. Top Gear tragically passed away and its replacement will never live up to the original. You are the only professional car tester/reviewer/reporter/enthusiast I can trust. If I drove the exact same cars my opinion of them would be almost identical to yours. I hate American cars and I live in America. I have a daily E46 M3 and despise mustang but pat on the back to Ford for having Chris review their new mustang. I see they are respectable now since Chris has reviewed it. Good play for Ford and good decision to whoever suggested Chris review their new car to show all the hard core car guys how much they have improved. Thank you Chris for telling things like they are (Ferrari) and not being biased like so many other reviewers. You are keeping cars alive my friend.
It took a market crash + plus a bankruptcy for the big 3 Americans to come up with cars that are what you'd call driver focused, however; Chris mentioned towards the end of the video that a spec'd up M3 is twice the money but certainly not twice the car, and that got me wondering, would the Europeans now have to up their game? I mean I understand that you're paying the premium for the build quality, the technology but to be brutally honest, when I am behind the wheel of a car that is meant to be driven I hardly care about how well its stitched together (hence why Evo's and STi's sell like they do) and neither am I an advocate for driver aids, trick suspension and what have you, I just want to drive. The Mustang, Corvette & the Camaro officially coming to Europe with dealer warranty should be a game changer. P.S. - Not a fanboy.
Ahmed Irfan Correct. They had gotten billions in DOE loans prior to the collapse and subsequent bailouts, so were spared the egg on their faces, so to speak. www.forbes.com/sites/joannmuller/2011/09/19/ford-looks-hypocritical-in-new-anti-bailout-commercial/
Best car reviewer aka car guy on the net. Old Harris. He is just like many of us that lose a lot of time watching these videos over & over again. He is a " CAR " guy.
Is it only me, or is this video only in 360p? Same with the McLaren 675 video. At first i thought TH-cam needs more time to convert the higher resolutions, but it is still only in 360p.
Ka.Fi You need a Firefox extension called TH-cam All HTML5. Someone pointed it out elsewhere in the comments here: I was having the same problem, but installing that add-on cured it.
Wonderful video, Chris. I always come back to the Mustang and think to myself, "why haven't I owned one of these all along?" And now from the looks of it, it's even better than before!
Did anyone else notice how he was having a crisis while drifting that Mustang? "Ohhh yesss... Ill have me some MUSTANG!" Also Chris Harris. Congrats on your future. Cant wait to see more of you.
***** I don't know what he's talking about necessarily, but I do know the stock redline is 6,500rpm's and every single ecu tune on the market raises the redline to 7,000rpm's. I'm sure if one wanted they could probably get get another 700rpm's out of it, but all the tuners seem to think 7k redlines are where the sweet spot is.
Bob Hope 7K is good on stock parts or cold air intake. 7.5K you'll need the boss or cobra jet intake and long tube headers so the engine can breathe right. Anything higher you'll need to replace the timing ring and valve springs along with the previously mentioned supporting upgrades. If you have a manual transmission, above 7K you'll need to replace the clutch fluid line and remove the helper spring on the clutch to shift above 7K. Ford Performance has the parts. I drag race my GT, this is how I came across these things at one point or another.
Chris, I like the way you review cars. You point out the flaws, but you don't over focus on them through the whole video. It makes the video more enjoyable to watch because you continue to show enthusiasm throughout the review and make each car feel special in it's own way. I always hated pulling up a review about a car that everyone knows is not a bad option to consider being bashed on so brutally that it ruins the whole video entirely. Always look forward to your next review!
I really really really want one of these. Shame the V8 is €110.000 in NL because of our dumb tax system. But maybe the ecoboost will be fun as well and more economical....
***** So fun is not allowed? I work from home and don't drive a lot, so I would probably have less emissions with my V8 and use a lot less fuel than someone driving their Prius 100km to work every day. They should just put all the tax in fuel, the current system will always be unfair.
Love these videos, Chris is the best automotive personality on youtube by far. Its nice that he has an idea of true US car costs too unlike many UK reviewers who frequently do the whole,"$35,000 dollars is only 22,000 pounds Americans have such cheap cars!" When thats really not how it works at all, two very different economies.
Fine job, Chris, and kudos to Neil and Al! Fine work. The fun cane across in the film style, and the delight was conveyed in the eloquent, spirited dialog. Made me want to buy a mustang!
European safety standards seem pretty silly, with the clear tail lights, no sequential turn signal, and larger mirrors and I am sure there is more I am missing
Pickle312 Clear tail lights - so what, if you want them get some from the aftermarket, same with the hood scoop. No sequential turn signal - looks very annoying and in the same color as the brake light and is therefore stupid. Larger mirrors are something I approve and the European Mustang could still use even bigger mirrors. I only miss the tribar lights, but they can be programmed as they are only deactivated
Heidelaffe Front tribars are disconnected and have no LEDs and the connectors to the headlight units are different from the US spec (as far as we know), so it will need more work than a simple re-program. The turn signals flash amber in the outer two tribars in the back on the EU spec. There are people working on after-market solutions to 'fix' all of this in a road-legal way though, so if you really cannot live with the stock set-up, there'll be options.
Heidelaffe Being in America the sequential turn signal isnt really "stupid" or annoying. We just dont have as many nanny laws telling automakers what they can and cant do. Its not that hard to distinguish the turn from a brake even though they are the same color, although not all cars in the states are solid red since many cars are still international vehicles.
"It's a happy car!" I totally get this! I would love to have a GT. Every time I see one, I smile, because the lines and angles of the car are just so spot on and sharp. I think the new Mustangs are much more handsome than the Camaros or Dodge cars, and I've been a GM car fan most of my life. Also, Chris Harris is always a delight to listen to and watch, and he isn't a Euro-snob about the Mustang, seeing its strengths (and fun!) and limitations. Great video!
I'm a car guy from northern BC Canada. I always love your car reviews. I was excited when I seen that you were reviewing my car! Nice video! Cheers bud.
"I mean a fully spec'ed M3 is twice as much money as this car... It's not twice the car." - Chris Harris Hearing that coming from Chris Harris the man himself has got to make you think! I completely agree on that! Love the new Mustang GT's! That's why I got one! :D And the modding list on these beasts are endless! Thanks for the Review Chris!!
Great Review Chris… Proud to be an American ! I grew up lusting after european exotics and was always embarrassed by Mustangs and Camaros of the 70;s-80;s & 90's but I too was impressed when I test drove this new car here in the states. I'm happy to see the Mustang being welcomed by Europe and to have shed it's bucket-of-bolts reputation…. I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
Haha awesome! Always love your videos Chris Harris on Cars but I like them the most when you truly find a car you have fun with. Another great review. Cheers!
Just watched this again to remind myself what a genuine review should look like. After Rory Reid's attempt on Top Gear I'd kind of forgotten!! Good effort Chris!
Chris is easily the best motoring Journalist in the world. He's a great driver & brilliant journalist in print and on camera. I think his opinions are generally the most trustworthy in the business and he's not afraid to mince his words hence his very public falling out with Ferrari. As for this car, what a bargain and I'm not usually a huge fan of Ford. Concerning the review, others are definitely right...Chris is perhaps the only one who's taken price into consideration. Other Journalists have unfairly compared it to an M3 without taking into account that the M3 is over £20k dearer! Keep up the great work Chris!!! :-)
5 hours ago...and I just got the notification? !?!... excellent review. Chris is bang on the experience and I agree that the new Mustang is a better breed...for the better of humanity.
Were so glad you like it! you are one of our favorite presenters. Come to the States slash drive American cars more often, I'm sure you'll be surprised
Chris great job as usual , on making us under stand all the nuances of this car . I have been looking at his car ,and have been thinking of purchasing one. you have actually help me decide to take a better serious look at this vehicle . You have got to review more American vehicles . I know I appreciate how well you describe how these vehicles.and how they operate from top to bottom inside and out . Good job mate .
Excellent review. There are a lot of TH-cam automotive journalists out there, but I think you are the best of the bunch! Keep up the great work. Thumbs everyone, THUMBS! /waves from the U.S.A.
I feel strange. As someone from the UK, I shouldn't want a Mustang... But this looked like a heck tonne of fun.
Mumbo Jumbo I see you comment on these every week! I do wish you would produce more car-related content on the channel. Bonald1101 Why wouldn't you just buy yourself Falcon XB and be done with it? Lol
Rogue Qall Because I'm a 19 year old student with a bank balance in 2, maybe 3 digits... That and I prefer Holdens too!
Bonald1101 Fair enough, lol.
Mumbo Jumbo
Typical British to me, hates America and thinks they are better than us.
When you see that Chris Harris has uploaded a new video you set aside whatever you were doing prior and enjoy!
SoCalSupercars I have the YT app notifications to blame for that. New CH vid means insta-Xmas.
SoCalSupercars Amen.
Eating breakfast in a crowded hotel without earbuds right now lol
Preach!
SoCalSupercars Indeed
I came here for the drifting and exotic complexion. I was not disappointed.
Alex Kersten Still reminiscing about that time he sat in your car (and couldn't wait to get out of it)?
Alex Kersten Oh hey Alex
It's available in HD for me. who's struggling with juts 360p?
Chris Harris on Cars Your 675LT video is showing 360p max for me just like this one. It's a really strange issue!
Chris Harris on Cars HD in Chrome, 360p in Mozilla for me.
Chris Harris on Cars I expected more enthusiasm from you about the stick availability.
All good ,HD for me!!
inspyral02 Same here. Firefox isn't showing me Chris's last two videos in anything above 360p, Chrome and IE show the full 1080p. Strange.
The Mustang goes to the UK and the Focus RS comes to the states! I love it!
The worlds best motoring journo - end of story. Another entertaining and enjoyable review as always from the man who sets the benchmark for all motoring journos.........thanks Mr Harris.
I find the use of the word "Yooorepeans" in the video description as hilarious!
Alan Teh Use Yuropoors. Only if you are from the US though.
Tom de Weerdt YUROPEON!

Slash396 Hmmm... Thought and engineered in collaboration with both Ford Europe and Ford USA to fit both of the markets ?
Noble713 Yep agree with that but still recognized as a very american car. Without considering the price, a 420hp european car is still more rigorous on every point than an american car. Except for the seats. Which are made by a german company.
Chris by a wide margin you are the best at what you do.
***** they're not in the same segment if they're separated by over 50% in price. Try something like a 1 or 2 series for the GT.
Lazerus2008 Its normal that you don't get twice the car for twice the price.

Chris Harris on Cars Need to get your hands on a GT350R to test...that's a beast we want to see for sure
When Chris Harris says, "What happens when you turn things off?", you know it's going to be a great video.
one of the best looking cars ever made (in my opinion)

John Golembiewski my bad, but it nearly went bankrupt though.
I had a 2006 STi and while it wasn't refined or quiet inside, it still felt like it was built with very high quality craftsmanship.

TheBucketOfTruth yeah but it wasn't M3-well-built and that was the point that I'm trying to make.
Best car reviewer aka car guy on the net. Old Harris.
He is just like many of us that lose a lot of time watching these videos over & over again. He is a " CAR " guy.

Friends of Britain's Great Churches and Cathedrals Yes, this works. Thanks!
Chris Harris you are without argument the finest auto journalist out there. Thanks from Detroit for all the great content. #fanforlife
i just bought one last week and im happy!!
Wonderful video, Chris. I always come back to the Mustang and think to myself, "why haven't I owned one of these all along?" And now from the looks of it, it's even better than before!

Nope. I always do that on CH videos.

this is really the best review of the Mustang GT I have ever seen. Good job Chris.
Please drive the Shelby GT350R!
+Michael McDonald Yes!! You know he's going to love that Mustang!!! Hope he does a review.
Awesomely written and presented. Thanks Chris and team for another one!
With a little bit of fiddling with the coyote, you can make it rev to 7700k.
jo23bulls How?

Spanked an ecoboost stang with my stock honda accord from a roll.

Love these videos, Chris is the best automotive personality on youtube by far. Its nice that he has an idea of true US car costs too unlike many UK reviewers who frequently do the whole,"$35,000 dollars is only 22,000 pounds Americans have such cheap cars!" When thats really not how it works at all, two very different economies.
nice rainbow dude
Hi, markiplierSINGSbadly :D
It's always a pleasure to watch your videos, one more time, I loved it.
Best motoring journalist, the best one imo. good job.
Chris Harris, please be the main host of top gear than the tasteless Chris Evans. Or whoever BBC boss who might be reading this for whatever reason.
Pickle312 No hood scoops on the GT. No working front tribar lights.
Heidelaffe Being in America the sequential turn signal isnt really "stupid" or
annoying. We just dont have as many nanny laws telling automakers what
they can and cant do. Its not that hard to distinguish the turn from a
brake even though they are the same color, although not all cars in the states are solid red since many cars are still international vehicles.
Pickle312 Though there are other areas where the US is as stringent, maybe more so than Europe.
Some truly stunning shots here by Neil, well don sir fantastic work
Can someone get him a GT350r? M3 flattener
you cant compare a gt350r to an old mans run around
"It's a happy car!" I totally get this! I would love to have a GT. Every time I see one, I smile, because the lines and angles of the car are just so spot on and sharp. I think the new Mustangs are much more handsome than the Camaros or Dodge cars, and I've been a GM car fan most of my life. Also, Chris Harris is always a delight to listen to and watch, and he isn't a Euro-snob about the Mustang, seeing its strengths (and fun!) and limitations. Great video!
I don't get it, you're in the cars, not on them...
Rather English isn't your first language or your intelligence level is worrying...
Brian Derbyshire he just doesn´t show when he´s on them ;)
I'm a car guy from northern BC Canada. I always love your car reviews. I was excited when I seen that you were reviewing my car! Nice video! Cheers bud.
I'm going to my local Ford dealer so I can sit in one
+Ian Townsend good story
There's a small waiting list for these now.... Grab them while you can.
Love the overhead shots through the corners. Adds dimension and scale to how the car corners.
"I mean a fully spec'ed M3 is twice as much money as this car... It's not twice the car." - Chris Harris
Hearing that coming from Chris Harris the man himself has got to make you think!
I completely agree on that! Love the new Mustang GT's! That's why I got one! :D
And the modding list on these beasts are endless!
Thanks for the Review Chris!!
Cannot wait until you get your hands on the GT350 R, Chris.
Chris I'm not even jealous that you get to review these cars. That's how much I like your reviews, top notch!
I love how you drift the cars and your comments also! Thanks!
High production value + sideways drifting in every car imaginable = yes please. Love these keep them coming.
Haha awesome! Always love your videos Chris Harris on Cars but I like them the most when you truly find a car you have fun with. Another great review. Cheers!
that last quote made me feel happy and remind me why i love so much your reviews Chris :)
Finally an unbiased review of the Mustang GT from across the seas. Thank you for that.
Every time I see the new mustang on the road I think "that is a great looking car".
Chris your drift is the driftiest of the drifts.
1:56 Those special mustangs were the 03-04 Svt (Terminator) Cobras, still my favorite mustang.
Just watched this again to remind myself what a genuine review should look like. After Rory Reid's attempt on Top Gear I'd kind of forgotten!! Good effort Chris!
"Wanna have me some Mustang!" Nice review. The Mustang GT is most definitely one of the top performance car values today.
Your presentation was genuinely unbiased. Love it, Chris!
This is one of a very short list of channels I take seriously for reviews, thank you Chris!
These car vids are way better than anything on TV
Chris Harris deserves a TV show. He is pleasant, knows his material and overall is a genuine car lover.
We always enjoy seeing your work. If you feel like you want to do more drifty things, be sure to let us know :)
I'm impressed that Chris acknowledged the IRS Cobras. Well done.
I've never smiled so much while in a vehicle. I absolutely love my GT. Hands down the most fun i've ever had while driving to the store.
I very much enjoy your reviews. honest and direct! keep them coming.
Were so glad you like it! you are one of our favorite presenters. Come to the States slash drive American cars more often, I'm sure you'll be surprised
Chris Harris you should be the new Top Gear host. I think you would take Top Gear to the next level. Excellent Reviews
The birds eye and in-car angles were awesome.
Well done Chris!
Man, you're the god of car reviews. Fair. Straightforward. 🙌
There´s no one like Chris reviewing a proper car!!! Well done Chris!
You're my favourite car reviewer Chris. Love your stuff!!
I don't think you can get better auto reviews than Chris Harris. Well done sir!!! 🚗
I absolutely love your way and your reporting. By all means have a show just with you talking about cars
"a big hug of a drift car " - Chris Harris

Excellent as always Chris! I hope it takes off with in Europe. I can't wait for you to try the GT350!!
The Chris Harris trademark 7:38 :) Haha, love it - Thanks for sharing Chris, great as always !

Great Review as always, Mr. Harris. Glad to see you are a fan of the new Mustang. We can't wait to see your review on the GT350R
