I have a headcanon that the 5th Fleet Master actually died during the Zorah incident in the opening cutscene and we're actually the most senior hunter in the 5th so leadership fell to us and that's why we get to be at all the council meetings and the like.
I'm replaying the game right now. So far the 5th fleet only has 2 "Ace Hunters". Yourself and the Ace Fiver. You both and your handlers sit in on the first few meetings.
Gameplay wise this is definitely the pinnacle. The only thing I don’t like is being part of this big fleet/military thing. I rather be the local hunter of a small and cozy village. I’ll take the downvotes :(
Hey, I am the original poster for the Odogaron jumping to the moon clip. You can even see my Sir Fluffington getting all the spotlight he deserves. It is awesome to see how the clip exploded and got picked up by bigger channels but not even dropping the original posters name is pretty weak.
@@adamnorr2265 Thanks for the kind words. Honestly made me question my sanity when I saw it. Let's face it though, Odo could for sure do this without any bugs, it just decides not to.
Another little tip is with Pawswap. Once you unlock the option for a tribe, the Pawswap icon the map can be used as a fast travel spot. Makes traveling to some of the remote tribes more convenient.
Thankfully, I realized that not (comparatively) long into my first Iceborne playtime, if only because I noticed the icon that appeared next to their usual bases after reaching lvl 6 unity So I hovered over it with the cursor, and tried to click on it out of curiosity, fielding the "Do you wish to fast travel?" option... when I realized this, I just grinned XD
Dead useful when you're treasure hunting them. Also each area has 10 treasures. The last 3 treasures often has 3 parts. Trading high enthusiasm items to them makes it easier to get the treasure tips.

The torch pods also work at holding the attention of Girros in the vale, so if you are on a Great Girros hunt and feeling overwhelmed by so many paralyzing bites you can just fire a torch on the ground and they will gather around it evening it back up to you and Great Girros.
Something I discovered recently on my replay was that aptonoth can crap footprints out of existence. I was trying to collect some elder dragon footprints when a baby aptonoth walked into my path. I hit the o button and accidentally jumped on the baby's back. The baby reared up and left a pile of dung on the ground. I hopped off and there was no footprint anymore.
I love the Odie has a ball turf war…the first time I saw it i laughed so damn hard I almost got eaten by odie once the turf war had ended…I was in shock…he just looked so happy i could almost hear him thinking “BALL!!!”

Always wondered how to get into that room at the start, and it's good to know that it is actually possible! The slinger one after that blew my mind aswell. I don't even think that appears in the pop-up tutorial speech or the button guide; kinda weird how they never explicitely tell you about that. Also bonus lore bit!!! The Serious Handler is actually a girlboss because she wasn't allowed to become a handler by her parents, but her sister encouraged her to do it anyways. Fun fact, Rotten Vale is built off the corpses of at least I think 9 Dalamadur ancestors. There are two massive skulls, but people have found up to if not more then 9 tails scattered around the map.

One of my favorite things to do is ride on the back of Herbivores. Like, if you sit on top of Mosswine, (at least in the high rank Ancient Forest) it’ll walk around and occasionally dig up a Mandragora. An Aptonoth dug up an Adamant Seed for me, too. I also remember a Kelbi from the starting area of the Wildspire Wastes walking all the way into the forested area while I was riding it and digging something up. Don’t remember what it was, though.
Imma keep it real with you chief. After 900 hours of playing, the only things new here to me (apart from lore details like the Meowscular Chef being the Admiral's Palico which is awesome) was that those shiny blue rocks in the Veil were actually Dalamadura's meteors. Now I know, and that's actually really cool to know that those things were once the meteorites that Dala would call down as an attack.

@@yoshisaidit7250 obviously there’s nothing weird about an underground tunnel per se, but the positioning of the stairs makes it seem odd that they both go down- they’re like right on top of each other.

I think the best candidate for 5th Fleet Master would be the Field Team Leader considering he was the best hunter of Astera before we arrive.
If he was there before we arrived, doesn't that preclude him from being part of the Fifth Fleet (or any fleet for that matter)?
i think a better candidate would be the player, since we’re the sapphire star and all and is always getting to do everything
