    This BRAND NEW 2023 Yamaha R1 made a visit to the shop for a full Akrapovic exhaust, BMC air filter and ECU flash/tune on the dyno! If you're wondering what motorcycle has the best sound? It has to be the Yamaha R1 with it's crossplane configuration. Add a full Akrapovic exhaust and you have the most aggressive sounding motorcycle ever! But do you need to tune your motorcycle after installing an exhaust? In short, no. BUT, if you don't, you run the risk of harming your engine due to it running extremely lean. This is where a full motorcycle ECU flash and tune comes in. We're able to dial your bike in to make sure that the Air/Fuel is correct across the board. Not only will this ensure smooth power throughout, but it will also make sure you're not harming your engine. Anyways, watch as we do a few modifications to this 2023 R1 and show you how much power you'll gain by installing an R1 exhaust and BMC filter.
    Have a motorcycle you'd like to get tuned? Give us a call.

    People that dont ride always worry about the max power your only at max power for a few seconds its all about mid range power and torque and how smooth the power comes on. This is coming from some one who has a 2020 s1000rr that makes 203 hp

      I appreciate that 🙏 we are trying to show real numbers and real effects that exhaust and other components have on the bike when you mod them! No one ever really explains this, so I figured I'd start showing it and explaining it as best as I can while keeping it simple

    ECU remap is needed when you change mid pipe as well. If you went only for end pipe swap (without changing/removing the cat), ECU remap would not be needed. That's also why a lot of manufacturers say you don't need a remap. Nice video tough.

    • @provenpowercycles

      Yes correct. We vet customers by this as well. If they still have a cat then I don't recommend tuning to them unless they plan on doing more to their rides 🤙

    At one point in time it was hard to reach 180 horses with just an exhaust and filter most people were putting power commanders on their bikes and getting them tuned. This new generation of riders want to here high numbers because everybody wants to be the fast guy and can’t even handle the bike. Good video. I need to look back at your vids to see if you have a S1K

    • @provenpowercycles
      @provenpowercycles  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not the full system. We have done some comparisons on other bikes and the sc project slip ons with stock headers have out performed akrapovic full system a couple of times.

    I wonder how it sounds with the aftermarket header, midpipe and stock muffler plus how much power it makes.

    • @provenpowercycles
      @provenpowercycles  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We did something like this on a zx10r. Now I can't claim this on a R1 but on the zx10r it did not sound too great. The stock muffler definitely put off an odd sound with the cat deleted. I prefer the aftermarket slip on route with aftermarket header, or full system since the header/midpipe/muffler were designed together 👍

    How can the ECU adjust mixture without the sensors ??

    • @provenpowercycles
      @provenpowercycles  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because I am tuning on open loop. Closed loop is where the ecu is relying on the o2 sensors to make changes. That current system is flawed in my opinion and has issues where it will not keep the tune in an adequate range and, in turn, creates more issues than it's worth.
      Soon closed loop tuning utilizing the factory sensors will most likely take over in my opinion.
