    Maam, what about the traditional use of curd in our cuisines? Is it okay to heat the curd to make kadhi or some other recipe?

      no it is not good to heat curd
      it will kill bacteria in curd and curd become useless

    I love curds Mam, l have some stomach issues, had an ileostomy surgery 4 years ago, ever since having some or the other stomach issues, l tried having curds with meals or chaas after meals, but when ever l do so l notice some gas problem, l try to avoid having it for this reason. Could you please help , make some other suggestions, incidentally, the curds l have is made of Amul cows milk (l dont add sugar or honey, as l am border line diabetic recently. I am 75 yrs old. Awaiting your reply to this problem. Sincerely Tina

    For pregnant women, Can we serve curd in Silver bowl ? My scientific mind says they both react and will be harmful. But my Grandparents keep on telling that it's an age old tradition and will not cause any problem. Help please.

    We had a nasty experience when we were visiting friends in S. India a few yrs ago. The food was so spicy that both my husband and I had to seek out a doctor to stop the diarrhea. We were put on a diet of curd and rice for a few days. It was an ordeal never to be forgotton.
    Thank you ma'am for this very informative video. Since then I always use curd (plain yogurt) to sooth tummy problems.

      curd ko directly fridge se nikalke khati ho kya?agar ha to curd ko fridge se nikalne ke baad 30-40 min tak fridge ke bahar rakho phir consume karo curd ko

    Curd is such a versatile thing to eat and the best part is that you can eat it in summers and winters both since in summers it helps keep you cool and aids digestion but in winters it also helps you fight common flu. There is a common misconception that you should avoid curd in winters but it is great to consume in winters also.

      Curd itself is heat in its potency. Ayurveda recommends eating curd in winter and Butter milk in summer and avoid it in rainy seasons. Stay happy stay healthy. 🙏🙏🙏

      Namaste, Yes, it is a good practice to take curd/ buttermilk with lunch or breakfast. But you can also have it in mid snacks.

    Also u said after few minutes rinse with water, we can take water and no need to apply shampoo..? Please reply Baa.

    Ayurveda advises against consuming curd whereas Allopathy says it has good bacteria and should be consumed. Kindly clarify what is correct and the right time and method (to have along with meals or without anything) to have it...

      Have curd in winter. Lassi or Butter milk in summer. If you have any digestive issues or bloating you can add roasted cumin and rock salt. Avoid it in rainy season. You can add sakaar or jaggery powder to curd and eat it on empty stomach . It acts as probiotic and improves gut health.

      "Ayurveda advises against consuming curd" - in the video above she has said to consume it but not during night and not having it too much. And best way to consume is thru buttermilk which will be easy to digest :)

      Namaste, Curd is made by mixing milk with lemon or Curd, which yields several types of Lactic acid bacteria also known as Lactobacillus. Whereas, Yogurt is made by commercial fermentation of milk by ingesting a particular type of bacteria strain.
