Nice video. I'm working on modifying my Typhon for speedruns and may try this. This video was made before the Limitless was released but I'm also looking at using the center spool from the limitless for this project. Anyways you gave me some good ideas!!

tYpHoN yessir! I'm gonna push the stock electronics until they burn up. See what I can get out of em. I did a quick parking lot run, only got in it for a half a second, because I couldn't keep the front tires on the ground, did 94. Was hoping to break 100, but I just didn't have enough room. I need a new spot. I'll post video soon.

RC CUSTOM thanks! Hope it was helpful. I tested it out earlier, and it works awesome. I need to find a new area to get top speed runs. It's too fast for my current spot. Not enough room.

Yeah, it's hard finding a good spot that's smooth with no road reflectors, excessive manhole covers, storm drains, parked cars.... you know... all the fun obstacles that make the run more fun and nerve racking at the same time. Lol
Google Earth is a good scouting tool for that though.👍👍

What size dog bone drive shafts are used on the typhon spool set up. I started out with the base model and have redone about everything. It cost a lot more to do it this way but I enjoy messing with it.

I did ran my TyPhOn with stock system with a 30t / 40t gearing with a 6s (45c) 4500mah lipo and got up to 94.8 mph, I saw on your other video that you had a 70c lipo and got 88.2 mph. I think if you went with this 30t / 40t gearing and that 70c rate lipo you would 've got over 96 mph Bro, You doing a great job and keep them speed runs faster lol....
RC CUSTOM my last video was with this spool and a 30/40, and did 103.1mph. The spool held up perfect.
Leo- Moreno I can tell you another thing that will help get your cars a little faster as well....if you are "OVER GEARING" your cars it will slow then down tremendously. it's not always the bigger the PINION the faster the car. if you are running to big of a pinion gear then you will put more strain on the motor and it will slow the car down quite a bit, but when you run a smaller pinion gear it allows the motor to spin faster and does not put alot of strain on the motor and will actually make your car faster. also running higher gearing will throw more amps to your ESC and could cause it to blow or even go up in flames. but, you have to TEST AND TUNE, TRIAL AND ERROR....only one way to find out what works best for you and that's to TRY IT, good luck and as always FULL THROTTLE all the time. ;-)
For sure. I know that very well. I am actually planning on making a video guide for gear ratios. but don't forget, I'm trying to get the top speed record for the stock Arrma electronics, and I'm literally trying catch this thing on fire in the process! let it eat!

I have the spool mounts front and back just need the spool with bearings no pinion for my arrma
so you just need the shaft, shims and spur adapter?
Leo can I get the part number on the shims you used so I don't get the high priced ones or wrong ones, I'm assuming you got them on eBay?
Arrma - Spartan there is no part number. I got them on Amazon, . They are just 8mm inside diameter. They aren't specific to Rc cars.
how do I put in the diameter to find them I know there 8mm inside diameter but I don't know the _x_x_?
I'm seeing a lot of 8.1x12x.05 shims but not sure if those are right, the shims are the last thing I need for my spool so just want to get the right ones.

leo, you can actually buy a OFNA DM1 center diff shaft that's 8mm it's will almost bolt directly in!! save you some money and time I'm sure. the ofna dm1 center diff shaft has the flat spot and cuts in them for "E" CLIPS that's will hold your center diff in place. give it a try that's what I use in all my speed cars. good luck and always full throttle!!
possibly, but I don't think the flat spot will line up exactly with the spur adapter. The shafts aren't expensive, and I actually enjoy making them.
Leo- Moreno the flat spots will line up and the "E CLIPS" will hold the bearings in place as well as the spool. but if you enjoy making them brother more power to you. I'm glad to see that people are actually helping others now days. back when I was posting speed runs videos 3-4 years ago everyone was hiding everything from one another....BUT NOT ME!! I would show anyone what I was running and was making videos to show how I was making everything as well. AWESOME TO SEE YOUR NOT TRYING TO HIDE ANYTHING AND YOUR HELPING EVERYONE!! keep it up and if you need any help with ANYTHING to do with speed runs please don't be afraid to ask. leo i have all other pieces except for the shafts and drive cups do you have anymore are do u know where i can get them from. i need them like asap

i have typhon too. but want to use a 34t instead of the one you show in video. is it possible to use the 34t wit the spool u make

yes, 34t will fit. i dont have any cups available, and i make the shafts myself. i use an 8mm lathe shaft. they are available on ebay, and amazon. just search 8mm hss lathe shaft.
