Next must be Apollo Go vs VMAX VX2 Extreme after you review the latter! Same price point, making them head to head contenders!
The latter has higher peak power than the former's dual motor for a single motor and is a buffed up version of the VX2 Pro!
Oh wow, that’s a good idea. You may have just changed the thumbnail of our VX2 Extreme review. I haven’t tested the Extreme yet, but I have been riding it. -Paul
Glad you missed the snake.
Me too! -Paul
I can tell from Vermont here that it is a lot brighter now!
good rivalry review!
I ride ninebot max g2 in city of los angeles and it is a perfect scooter for commuting…great solid premium build quality, accerlation is fast enough to ride in both sidewalks and car roads, reliability… slight difference in top speed wouldnt really matter…buy max g2
Thanks for sharing
I agree! Plus Segway is a bigger company with better quality control and there's a reason Amazon does 5 monthly payments with any Segway scooter as long as you have Amazon Prime, but they don't do that with any other e-scooter company!
Great review as always! Love the comparison videos !
PLEASE REVIEW TEVERUN FIGHTER MINI PRO !!!!’❤
I will check it out
Another great video
Thank you so much! -Paul
Nice review. What about Apple Find me or Android?
Not for the OKAI. -Paul
Thank you for making this video! I'm planning to buy the Max G2 but it does snow a lot in my place during winter. I wonder how well would a e-scooter handle snow on the road, like half an inch or even one inch of snow on pavement or sidewalk? I definitely wont be going 20mph in such road conditions, but I do hope it will still be rideable at least. Or would it be better if I buy a fat tire e-bike instead?
Also, having Apple find-my is cool but I don't own any Apple device. Does that mean this feature is completely irrelevant for me?
Should be okay with half an inch snow but be careful in rain or snow. Check the link in description for latest price
i love watching your videos since i live in australia and in the state that i live in e-scooters are legal but, it is limited to 25 km/h (15.5 mph) which feels quite slow so i love watching your videos to know how all different scooters preform (i have the MAX G2) 😁
Thanks for the kind words!
I'd be wary of lesser known companies, Segway is an established company not that Okai.
Is there any way for the Segway g2 to convert from eu to usa ? In eu there is no option for 22 mph and no cruise control..
Speed hacks ?? New controller?? Can someone pls help ?!!
We test all scooters with OEM
Add more volts and do somethings with the controller scooterhacking utility is your friend
Eu version is same volts and controller as the US right?.
Here’s a quick question, do you think that soon you could do any reviews on the kugoo kukirin electric scooters as I am thinking about buying one and your channel is my favourite for scooter reviews! (Particularly the kugoo kukirin g3 pro)
We’re getting a ton of interest lately, but I don’t think we’ve ever heard from the company. I’ll ask if we have any contacts there. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Iv seen the brand from gingeronwheels in a few videos and also quite a lot them on TikTok
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I think that I might just get the solar p1 3.0. Is the front suspension bad on the solar p1 3.0 or just really stiff?
Hmmm although you get some extra range-- for an just $200 you can get a Uscooter GT sport w/ handles that fold in
When it comes to speed and portability the GT Sport and Fluid Mosquito are hard electric scooters to beat. The Ninebot MAX G2 and OKAI Neon Ultra have a smoother ride and better traction though. -Paul
I wish the videos talked about how easy it is to lock & secure, if the digital lock is easily bypassed, etc
The NFC key locks and unlocks the scooter, or you can leave it unlocked and just use the power button. You can also lock it with the app.
If you mean physically locking it up: Unfortunately leaving a scooter anywhere is risky and the vast vast majority of locks out there can be cut in 1 minute with a cut-off wheel. There are some cutting-wheel resistant locks but they’re in the $200 to $300 range and will resist a good 15 minutes of cutting, plus they will destroy 3 cut-off wheels in the process. We should make a video about the good locks.
I tend not to focus on the security measures built into the scooters since none of them are very secure. The one exception being cellular tracking that lets you track and disable your scooter remotely. But only a couple scooters have that. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Thanks for the explanation! I’ve found a couple scooters are a bit difficult to use most U-Locks with, while some are very easy. Might be worth testing? I like that GOTRAX requires a PIN and is basically non-functional until you put it in (no phone required).
Video on locks would be great!
Happy Fourth! I know you said Dualtrons were hard to get, but the Dualtron popular blows both of these scooters out of the water for the same price. 37mph, dual motor, better display, swag lights, 1,300wh battery, lg cells, and on sale for $999.
I’ve seen some other people review them, but I’d love to see your in-depth review on it
Great timing. We just unboxed three small Dualtrons on Tuesday and the Pop is one of them. I’m testing them next week, so we should have a review in less than 2 Weeks. -Paul
Happy 4th!
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Nice! It'll be interesting to see what you think of it, it's a neat scooter with the only handicap being the 9" wheels
I need to watch your hill climb video again…
Got the unagi voyager for a test… over heated and failed to go up two hills: with all honesty i can go around.
Id say its the minimum viable option for me…
Note: Bus max weight is 55lbs (bike rack or carry on) according to local laws (im trying to change.) can you do a round up with weight of scooter? Im thinking >40, 40-69, 70-99, 100+ LBs as categories.
Im trying to change the 55lbs to +70lbs legally due to the majority of cheap e-bikes being 60-80lbs.
Great to know about the weight limit. I didn’t know that. Thanks.
How long were the hills you were climbing? Do you know how steep? (% wise). -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide the ride home from bus station is a 400ft elevation change over a 1.5mil one way trip but my need will be 1,000ft of elevation over 8 mile total trip.
The front fork on the Okai should be significantly more durable. The G2 owners have been having issues with the front shock piston bending.
Great feedback. Thanks! First of its kind features are always prone to first of its kind problems, I guess. -Paul
Can we see a video on most comfortable scooters to ride? At different price points?
Good idea!
When we getting that full review of the RX7?
Should be next week!
Oh and the app function on the neon ultra was fairly buggy for me
Which function in the app was buggy? The only one I had a weird experience was a beta feature where the scooter turns on when it senses Bluetooth. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide the beta app has some issues but changing from the different speed displays it would some times freak out and one of the speed displays was way off on the mph compared to the other two
Does the fact that your Ninebot isn’t new change these results in any way?
No our Segway is almost new!
Spend a couple hundred more and get an Ausom Gallop. You wont be disappointed. So much torque and its built like a tank!
The reskinned kugoo g3 lol
We have not reviewed that brand yet!
@@chronicalcultivation Yes, everyone is aware that its a rebranded KuKirin G3 (not really anything "lol" about that), but its the same scooter and much cheaper.
So the the battery on the neon ultra I bought stoped charging after 4 days and the top speed was 28mph not 22 but I returned it due to bad battery it’s too bad because the ride felt nice and smooth
That’s really strange, because the firmware limited speed on ours is 24mph with the wheels off the ground, free spinning. Do you mean yours spun up to 28mph with wheels off the ground, or did you see 28 indicated while riding?
-Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I believe I changed the top speed in the app if memory serves
What about the inokim quick 4 new version
Decent scooter
What about the NIU KQI 300X?
We haven’t tested it yet. Mitchell should have a review out very soon. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Awesome! I’m looking forward to it!
Still waiting for that kqi3 300x review...
Mitchell is working on it. Soon! -Paul
"It is 2049 now, and if you ask your friends which scooter should you buy, most likely you would hear Ninebot Max"
Wonder why Ninebot Max does not have its own Wikipedia page.
History of electric scooters in a nutshell: 2000 Razor, 2016 Xiaomi M365, 2019 Ninebot Max.
:-)
Yeah, it sort of makes sense that the legacy continues because they have the biggest development budget and also the most to lose if they get the next generation wrong. -Paul
You are braver than me... no gloves.
Haha yea! Don’t try this at home
I don't think nothing can beat the Kugokirin G4 it's only $899 with a 2000 watts motor and looks better in my opinion 😉
That scooter is not even UL Certified and uses cheap Chinese batteries. Wouldn't trust it for long term. There is a reason why a lot of the top reviewers for scooters don't review them
@@ImReadyAyuexactly
We have not tested that brand!
OKAI scooter felt great but the app is awful had to return it and get an Apollo air
What sort of problems did you have with the app. To me it doesn’t have a ton of features but also wasn’t getting in my way like it can on some scooters. -Paul
I'll keep my VMAX VX2 PRO GT I got for $809
Great scooter. Tons of power! -Paul
$999 and you just get a rinky-dink bell.. c'mon Okai.
