    A very small mention of sound has got to be a first for a youtube review of the XL2 line. I picked one up and I love the way it sounds. I am older, from the Titanium driver introduction era. That high pitched ting is just what I prefer in my driver sound. The fence pole thwack sound of my steel driver of that era sounded so bad compared to the titanium. Now we have gone around and are back to that fence pole sound with the CF drivers. I will keep my ting sound. My current driver is from about 2008 when I was last playing regularly. Then family came along and took time off. Started back on the course last year and really need something new in the top of my bag. This is likely the club I will get for all the reasons you mentioned and showed.

    Cleveland is always overlooked, I liked the XL driver more than the XL2. They just go straight……. Great video gents!

    I recently hit the XL 2 with the Tensei AV 55 R and loved it! I’m almost 61 with a swing speed around 83-85 mph and I hit it further than the Srixon ZX 5 LS with a Ventus Blue 5-R. It also felt better than my TM original Stealth with the same Ventus Shaft. I will definitely be purchasing the XL 2 10.5 with the AV 55 R shaft. Great review guys. My XL 2 irons that y’all reviewed a few weeks ago are on the way as we speak.

    I see you both used the Ventus blue shaft. Does Cleveland offer shaft options? As an 11 hcp and 67 yrs old, I haven't fallen into the trap of having to play clubs for my hcp. I tend to use clubs for a higher hcp and make the game easier and fun. I think the worst thing a golfer can do is let his ego get in the way and start using premium clubs just because he/she has lowered their hcp. Cost then becomes a factor.

    • @embersgolf
      @embersgolf  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes that is a great point. Drivers are tipped so can be swapped, and it’s an upgrade for Ventus shafts

    Cleveland is basically a Srixon range of clubs for the higher handicap players and it is a genius move by Dunlop.

      I use Cleveland launcher XL driver/3d/hybrid... all very easy to smash one down the middle, coupled with srixon zx4mkII irons... such a good Setup, Consistent down the middle tee off's.

    I’m an 11 handicapper and have used a number of Cleveland drivers. Always liked them but currently using a Taylor Made Stealth. Is this new Cleveland likely to outperform a two year old Taylor Made?

    • @embersgolf

      It will on the forgiveness levels, it would be hard to be beat the stealth on speed though.

    im a 9.7 handicap thats really struggling with driver. i get high swing speeds 110+. im very interested if this may be the driver for me to help get control. i feel thats the biggest part of my game thats lacking and i could probably gain a few strokes if i could consistently stroke the short grass

      @@embersgolf yea sort of. depends on the day, i really need something that i can feel confident with because at this point i score better if i leave the driver at home. right now im either pulling it hard or a high slice. or bombed down the middle. i have the stealth plus and honestly never gotten along with it. i previously played ping and loved it, im really interested in the 430 10k, the pxg 0311, and a couple others but i should really get a proper fitting. i know my driver issue are mostly “me” based obviously, but ive never struggled so much as since i bought the stealth.

    I'm definitely gonna give this a go. I dont care about insane distances. I use a 4 iron at the moment that I can get a fair bit out of, but on longer holes I just need an extra 40m or so. Top review.

    Thank again for all y'all do. Interesting driver to say the least. Just using the Cleveland price and the Srixon ZX5 MkII on the website is only $50 different, I honestly would think it would make more sense to just buy the Srixon over the Cleveland for the price difference and the Srixon should give even a high handicap golfer a better option with better performance for. Just to add in from the reviews from the Wilson Dynapower Carbon Drivers at the same price as the Srixon I can see as a better driver option over the Cleveland.
    By the way, as you asked I did leave my opinion on the 2024 TaylorMade TP5x on the 'Can the NEW TP5 take down the king of golf balls? (TP5 vs PROv1 vs Srixon)' Hope you find my insight interesting. Big thanks again for the great content y'all put out

    • @embersgolf
      @embersgolf  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for following! I would agree, Srixon driver is crazy under rated, and is faster than the Cleveland. Cleveland I would say launched higher so if you need help keeping the ball in the air, it’s nice. We have both in stock! Let us know if you need one we can help!

      @@embersgolf I will let you y'all know soon. Getting ready to upgrade my TSi3 when summer gets closer and would really like to be fit instead of self fitting. Trip there not out of the question and coming from Washington is not that far. Haven't been in the Denver area in 25 years since the 18 months I lived in Lakewood. Think it would be supe fun to be fitted with y'all

      There is a lot of shared DNA between the two lines. It's really about finding what works for you. I play Srixon irons (MKii ZX5s) but hit the Cleveland hybrids much better than Srixon. I think because it's cheaper there is a perception that it's not 'as good'....but it really depends on the golfer and club.
