So not only was bayo heavily gutted at the beginning of ult, she also had a "fun" mechanic where her opponent could freeze her in hitstun, sort of like Witch Time.

@@lifestyle807 Smash 4 had 15 patches, and its update cycle was from 2014 to 2015.
Smash Ultimate has 28, and the update cycle was 3 years, and also had 12 DLC fighters, each of which got their own update.

stun jacket makes me kinda sad, cause i feel like there's a really cool character concept in there somewhere. like, imagine giving that to a mid/low tier, like incineroar. the stun of your next attack stacks with each counter, like revenge already does. that'd be so cool imo.
Honestly that would be the perfect way to buff incineroar.

I understand what your saying but movement speed buffs are never coming to ya boi incineroar, might as well buff his advantage. Also this would be a counter buff, which would heavily increase his abilities in disadvantage so it would still help his bigger flaws, just not neutral.
@@paytonperry1592 Not sure, buffing his non-existent combo game so that you can do basically 1 extra aerial move out of it is not a worthwhile buff. I would suggest to make revenge speed incineroar up instead so that if he counters a zoner's projectile he can S P E E D to them and beat them up
@@paytonperry1592 I don’t think Inceneroar is supposed to have much of a combo game though. Every move he has hits like a truck by itself. His problem is anything but damage.
Honestly, this channel deserves so many more subs. There’s obviously much polish that goes into each of the videos.
Smash ultimate on TH-cam is incredibly hard to make any headway into. Probably on of the hardest ratios of work to payoff on the platform

The Marthy hit lag thing could be kinda cool if it was left in. Like an incineroar revenge but instead of power and knock back you stun your opponent with your projectile powered sword strikes.
Seeing that properly make it in on a character as their quirk would definitely be interesting

Steve with melee Shine would be terrifying
I remember that ridley side b used to insta kill sonic when he did a homing attack. This was only on 2d stages (like the duck hunt stage).
That's such a specific glitch, I love it. Definitely taking notes on all of these suggestions, might be fun to make a video about some really obscure interactions like this sometime!

I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed that Ryu's Focus attack reverse slide was not talk about. It was a really cool glitch tech option that gave him added mobility and complexity.

Talking about shotos reminded me of their close Strong attack and how it became amazing, instead of just being an uptilt.

Fun but terrifying fact, Palutena(and also Mewtwo) has an un-patched ability similar to hydro pump cancelling, warp cancel. This technique (unlike hydro cancel) works on ANY(legal) stage at ANY ledge.
Damnn I should've mentioned that... I even play Palu sometimes and can warp cancel pretty well 😅 Whoops!

Self stick, Pump cancel, Stun jacket, Flash cancel, D-tilt jump, Kart stalling, Turnip ground attack, Lloyd jacket, Lylat blue balls, Hitstun z drop.
Only because you needed King K. Rool's Final Smash, I remember Shulk's Infinite Monado Arts Glitch being completely nuts, lmao.
Having the benefits of every Art (with a bit of extra lag in Aerials, tho) would make him Top 1, no contest.
And even if it was patched, Hero with Acceleratle, Oomph and Psyche Up is the closest thing to it, lol.
Great video! Not sure if you've mentioned it before, but 1.0 also had Ganoncide kill the opponent first off-stage, but was patched day 1. My friend that mains Ganondorf never stops reminding me of this fact any time he Ganoncide's me off-stage and loses because of it.
Self-Stick, Hydro Pump Cancel, Counter Hitstun shenanigans, and held item attacks would have all been cool to keep if they were each nerfed to decency

A little bit of context for Shoto DTilt jump cancels, the reason they worked was because DTilt is frame 2. Attack canceling in Smash Ult has a 2 frame threshold for tilts/smashes/dash attack, and a 1 frame threshold for Jabs. This was designed around the assumption that there wasn’t anyone with a frame 1 Jab/frame 2 Tilt (For ZSS and Little Mac, they added a flag making it so you can’t attack cancel Jab at all because they didn’t want jump cancels on a frame 1 move)
...but they forgot to put this flag on Shotos, which resulted in DTilt Dair
When I saw diddy, I thought you were going to talk about the pyramid scheme
Also ngl I wanna see them turn ryu and ken glitch into an actual thing where in the patch notes it says “can now cancel down tilt into jump”

Shotos really had jump cancels, and counter characters had Clairen stun for missing counter... This would have been cool to see in current Ultimate...
They actually gave Ryu a jump cancel and instead of balancing it they just took it away smh

Very cool video. I'm excited to see where the channel goes. I'm no contenter but I kinda wonder if this one woulda been better as a more scripted video. I feel like it might have tightened up the pacing and created fewer pauses and hesitations. Just something I would be interested to see.

It's not a glitch that affected competitive Smash at all, but I really miss Isabelle's infinite assist trophy glitch. I had SO MUCH fun messing around with it.

To be fair, the ledges on Lylat, from the very start of Ultimate's release, were always consistent. Sure, there were some moments when you just wouldn't grab the ledge, but if you drifted back and grabbed the ledge from a small distance you would ALWAYS grab the ledge. All clips you can see of people not grabbing the ledge on Lylat are hugging the wall, that is not how you recover on Lylat. I main Kirby, and whenever I want to up b to the ledge, I have to drift ever so slightly back so that I can grab the ledge.
Essentially, what I'm saying is, when Dabuz missed the ledge on Lylat that one time, that was Dabuz's fault. He should've been more cautious when he tried to grab the ledge but instead he hugged it, just like you are not supposed to. Now, it does suck that you have to take these precautions in the first place, but given the fact that Lylat is supposed to be a counterpick stage, limiting the options of the person recovering seems fine. I was never on board with the Lylat ban movement.
Fun fact: Isabelle had a bug that was patched in, in 3.0 her fishing rod would remain always active when it was airbone, and it would just not pull in opponents when reeling in like it's intended to
It was immediately fixed in 3.1

I just wanna put my “As a bowser jr main” statement out there with vanilla jr, since that character was prob the least cared about from Nintendo due to how many glitches he had, there was kart stalling like whydo said, he had smash 4 airdodge out of his up b where he can use it over and over again with little lag, he could jump cancel his spinout version of side b, he couldn’t fall through platforms normally after full hopping and instead just had extra lag, and his get up attack after up b was weaker than normal for some weird unexplainable reason. And he still has some weird glitches now that haven’t been fixed like kart dash’s hitbox just not existing after kart bounces sometimes, and he can’t walk tech out of up b and instead can only tech jump, but if you do wall tech out of up b you instantly get your kart back and then can cancel your momentum with kart dash or a jump, which yes is still in the game
Stun jacket was in 4 as well, guess it took a little more time to fix
Was real fun to get some stuff with Lucina in the Bayo matchup (yes I liked the matchup in 4)

My favorite competitively useful glitch wasn’t in vanilla smash ultimate but rather 3.0. In doubles, joker could gain a significant amount of Arsene meter by a partnered Pokémon trainer player switching Pokemon. Joker is already a top tier character but basically always having arsene makes him the best character in the game. And pokemon trainer is another top tier so it’s not like you were wasting a teammate on a bad character.
