My Shiba is three months old today, and has mastered the basics: sit, down, paw, stay and we’re working on “watch me” to help him focus better when we’re outside. He signals when he needs to go out, and LOVES learning. Overall, I’m amazed at how smart he is. I can’t wait to teach him more advanced tricks! Great work with Aoki, your channel helped me with my decision to get a Shiba.. also my first dog. I love a challenge 😂
Your message is giving me so much joy!! I am glad that our videos help you in your Shiba-venture! Enjoy your pup. They grow up so fast!
How did you teach lay down? Mine refuses to have his should blades pushed and doesn’t lay naturally if I have a treat hidden in hand on the ground.
Great video; balance and timing are super important! Also love the first song: Incapable - Shamgang 🎵🐕
5:11 I'm curious if its possible to train him not to ignore you (or lets say lose focus) like in this scene.
You reinforce when the pup focuses back and makes eye contact ;)
That is interesting tip to do the tricks, but sounds very energy consuming 😅. Recently i found some completely different approach for communicating with dog, which also was super interesting, because on long term i feel like i would be exhausted to all does sounds i have to make to make shiba do what i would like to. I mean i have cats and learn one few tricks using positive reinforcement, but i know nothing about dogs 😅 but got some time ago desire for having a Shiba so doing my reasearch. Anyway here is the founded approach to communicate with dog, i am curious whether you heard or try something like with yours: th-cam.com/video/DaayJmxlm54/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6BdcaG8fJyx9x9sl
Very inspiring to see such a trainded shiba. I have a stubborn puppy but it's very rewarding to see every improvement he makes
Love this 💕 thank you so much
You have done an amazing job with him! I didn't find my Shibas difficult to train, but they can be stubborn lol!
You are so kind! thank you!!
Your training tips are very good. I will be getting a Shiba soon as my 1st dog.but we have a family friend that has a shiba we spent time with.
So glad that you find them helpful!! Thank you! Enjoy your new Shiba 🥰
It takes her 3:15 minutes until she starts talking about the tip. too much effing bluber talking. disliked
such a constructive feedback! thanks for taking the time to drop a comment!

Thanks for the video! what treats do you use to train your dog? Our dog seems so picky!
Have you tried freeze dried treats? Try tossing a variety of treats in your pouch so you offer a variety of textures. Also refrain from giving too much all the time to create scarcity. Another option is that your pup might not be food driven ;)
Thank you for reply! Yes I’m currently trying freeze dried beef liver and pork heart
My Shiva is eight months old and to this day I’m having an eternal struggle with him on a leash sometimes. If he starts staring at oncoming people or dogs, then that’s pretty much it. I have to pull him, because no matter how many times I call him he will ignore me. Sometimes he will straight up, look at me, and then look the other way back at the people he was looking at.
Any advice there?
Was he always like this? Because he should also be near teenage phase 2.
Correct him, use a gentle lead and just give it a little 'pop' almost like a small yank, I recommend watching Beckman, he's an excellent trainer who trains without using E-collars or constantly feeding treats
same here! Aoki would stop and refuse to walk. Remember to be interactive with your pup. give them cues while you walk and keep it interesting as much as possible so avoid looking at you cellphone for example. I know it's hard, especially when working from home. Shiba Inus have a very strong personality but it's also what we signed up for. If they want something, they will tell you and that's that. haha! Something else would look into training classes that would address this issue :)
