Since you guys covered this match-up, you should also consider a tutorial for Cloud and Leon. I know it's not a "boss fight" per se because it comes up in the middle of the Hades Cup, but it would still be pretty helpful for newer KH players.
It’s tough but it is possible. The thing about it is he is able to strike within close distance without him saying anything to trigger his attacks. you have to react on how far he approaches you. This also seems to be a precursor to Sephiroth’s in how he would strike within distance too.
This is way more helpful than the guide I have bookmarked on google. Beat giant Ursula within 10 minutes and just before needing to pick my girlfriend up from work. Her name is Ariel and I wanted to beat it while she wasn’t home. Hates little mermaid references (movie she was named after)

I tried it about 4 times and beat it. But only bc i watched a video so usually after watching a video, i learn what im doing wrong and helps me a lot to play more patient and know when to be aggressive.
so i really struggled with this before doing atlantica and halloweentown, like it was basically impossible because i didnt have guard either, but once i got the pumpkin blade i did this easily in one try
Yes! You can participate in the tournament cups at any point after you unlock them. It's worth noting that most enemy stats increase across the board after completing the first story episode in Hollow Bastion, so you might still find the tournaments to be quite a challenge! Good luck!
Guarding Leon’s attacks when he’s powered up isn’t so easy to do. You have to rely mostly on your instincts on when he strikes in order to guard successfully. I think it’s best to avoid him closing on you if possible and only attack f he does his jumping sword attack move that’s when he’s actually vulnerable to attack. You should be able to land three successful hits on him.
if you just fought them without the other matches this would be fun and not too stressful, but the fact that u gotta do all the waves every time makes this a fucking nightmare

I never knew you could get Leon to lose his blade enhancement. That is extremely helpful knowledge.
