You're the same guy that helped me beat Ursala recently! Thank you for helping me beat dragon Maleficent as well! I admit that before watching this video I literally kept dying within 2 minutes it felt like. I was shocked by how insanely hard she is on proud mode! Her attacks may be difficult to dodge but your video gave me the motivation to be patient and not try to rush this fight and then when I got close to winning, I reminded myself to continue being patient and so I ended up beating her at last! I used the tinker bell method btw and I absolutely loved how useful she was!
Hyper Cheap Method: 1. Summon Bambi 2. Cast Gravira and Stopra while grabbing any MP Prizes Bambi generates while he's active. 3. Repeat with Elixirs once Bambi leaves until you run out. 4. Finish Maleficent off with air combos and save any recharged MP for Cura after the last Stopra-Gravira combo drains your MP dry.
Great video. Running through kingdom hearts for the first time. Learning about going to the side and having her stomp around towards you was a game changer. Beat it on my first try after watching your video.
Another amazing guide. Just beat Maleficent in a default equipment run, and I would just like to say if you're using a melee build for this fight, SUMMON TINKERBELL. I don't care if you have low MP, I don't care if you don't really use summons, DO IT. She will constantly heal you, presumably until you die. I didn't, so I can't say for sure, but that's a lot of MP you're saving for wind spells. Also, regarding the tail swipe dodge, it looks and feels anime as hell when you pull it off right, which makes it worth it on its own. I've also found that when Maleficent uses her fireball attack, you can use her own body to block most of the fireballs by gliding around her, as she is roughly the size of your mother.
Already defeated Maleficent but this video alone taught me a few important things about this game that I wish I knew much earlier during my proud playthrough. With the new knowledge, the final boss for me is gonna be much easier I hope when I get there! Thanks very much.
One strategy I use especially towards the end is a few strikes and then hide behind a branch while Tink heals you and repeat, yes it takes longer, but at the same time you get your life refilled and you get some time to regroup if you begin to get nervous
I was 9 or 10 and literally was crying out of frustration as a kid 😢😢 and now I’m 27, just watch the guide on the fight before this AND thought we would get a save before the dragon fight!! 😂 I’m so screwed!!
I honestly summoned Tink and just used Cura and Aerora as needed while continuously hitting her head. Doing this basically makes it into a straightforward “hit her till she’s dead” fight.
I'm currently at the point of the game where the two available worlds are the Halloween and little mermaid ones, are there any good places to farm levels?
So this will take forever but, load up on ethers and elixers jump onto the roots and stay away from the dragon . She didn’t really hit me . I used beast and goofy and had them just attack the dragon.
In the roots area there's this little hidden back area that's very safe also and was close enough to aim fire spells at her, that's similar to what you did.
What’s the build in this video. Got stuck on this fight with the worst possible outcome. I chose sword and tossed the staff like an idiot, but I got all the way to hollow bastion so 👀
I have beaten KH 3 times. Twice on PS2, and once on PS3, and this fight was always the hardest for me. Now I'm playing on PC and am playing Proud mode for the first time. I gotta say, Proud mode actually made the game easier because it forced me to stop and think about combat mechanics and gear whereas before I'd usually tank my way through everything. That is.... until this fight. Once again this is the hardest part of the main game. Because, yeah Maleficent telegraphs her attacks, but if you wanna do any damage to her without a mage build you have to get in close and her attacks cover so much ground.
i wsa going into this battle after this vid and accidentaly forgot to bring items so i just had 2 potions and a hi potion. the strategy i used besides the dodging strats was the fact that i had set donald to heavy support so i used the potion on him, cura on me when needed and he healed me the rest My whole party was lvl45 + tho
Despite running a magic build for most of the game, I found this fight significantly easier with an attack based loadout and simply stacking plenty of fire restistance. The Ifrit Belt from the white trinity in Agrabah's Cave of Treasure is perfect. Add another generic fire resist item on top, use your MP primarily to upkeep Aero, cure once or twice if needed and just keep whacking her. No idea how well this "facetanking" strategy works on proud mode, I very much assume a bit more finesse and defensive play will be needed, but it's enough to make the fight trivial on normal difficulty.
I stocked up Beast and Goofy with ethers and only had MP Gift equipped and spammed Stopra-Gravira-Gravira-Stopra over and over again, and she was KOed without doing *anything* Just had spellbinder with Ray of light and the Royal crown equipped for max MP and the parties AI turned to not attacking and using MP items frequently
On my first play though this boss was a pain in the ass because I wasn't very knowledgeable about the game and didn't really use summons and magic, it took me countless of times to beat her. Second playthrough I just summoned tinker bell got aero and went ham. This boss fight is easy asf and can be done quickly. Wish I knew this info when it came to my first run
Have you traded Goofy for another party member in previous worlds? He might have levelled up while outside of the party, and it's possible that this might delay when he learns abilities. I'll do some testing to confirm!
@@BlueGuise9 Aha! I'm going to add a note to the abilities page on the KHGuides website so that others with the same issue can see it. Thanks for letting me know! 👍
I remember this fight being a lot harder when I was like 12… haha I beat it first time this go around and I’m level 40 so I don’t think I overleveled. I looked up this guide assuming I’d need help since this fight was so traumatizing to me when I was younger but it was a breeze this time.
Okay for real guys. No. Just forget this guide. Honestly. Here ya go. 1. Get in dragons face 2. cast stop, do full air combo, cast stop 3. rinse and repeat, use eithers where necessary

Same!
You aren’t the only one bro😂
@@shivendrasingh2862 yeah it's bullshit how hard the bosses are on proud mode lol
Yeah that’s when I looked up tips for that boss too and figured why not!
@@adamcisneros9702 I just can't beat Seperioth though!

Tinkerbell call was crazy. Thank you
You had me till the end 😂😂😂😂

You know I watched this guide and immediately beat her. Sometimes you just need to see someone succeed lmao
That's awesome, Nathan! I'm so glad the video helped out! Congrats!
I feel the same way. Like in order to beat a boss I need to know its even possible lol.
One strategy I use especially towards the end is a few strikes and then hide behind a branch while Tink heals you and repeat, yes it takes longer, but at the same time you get your life refilled and you get some time to regroup if you begin to get nervous
Well done video. This is one of the trickiest boss fights in the main story of KH1.
Thank you x1000. You saved me so much frustration.
My 12 year old self would have loved to see this; I had a hell of a time trying to beat this boss back then! These were all excellent tips!

Finally beat her and just wanna thank you for the guides lol, these past few bosses have been a PAIN lol
I'm glad they've been helpful! Congrats on the win!
My brother shared me a great tip. He said to use tinkerbell throughout the fight and attack maleficent from behind and under
First try after this video, forgot about tinker bell lol. Appreciate it!
Guides think you so much your life saver and the best kingdom harts tutorial person ever
Much needed assistance here. Thank you!
Glad it helped! 😊
Thanks for the tutorial. I was able to beat her on proud mode thanks to you!
Congrats on the win, Jordan! I'm glad the video was helpful!
Thorough and non intimidating. Great content. Liked :)

Ty! Currently playing in proud mode and almost gave up.
worked great! just take it slow at first by gliding away and hiding
and use tinker bell for sure! she really helps with health
If only I knew this tutorial existed. I would have had such an easy time on this fight.

I jumped down and burned the dragon down on last health bar
Playing the long game... We like it! 😄
Wow I tried this and it worked so much better than anything I tried on my own 😭 thanks

This guide is good but I suggest putting beast and Donald in party, letting them attack the whole time.
That was so easy because all I had to do was spam stop and gravity with Bambi I thank you for the magic tips

I had no idea I could use fly outside of neverland. That would of come in hand😓😓
I just beat maleficent by , with a magic build, climbing the thorns. And using Simba, genie, gravity magic and strike raid
I finally beat maleficent while watching this video I finally beat her after three tries while watching this video

1. Get in dragons face
2. cast stop, do full air combo, cast stop
3. rinse and repeat, use eithers where necessary

Okay. Create your own guide

i litreally gave up today
