I'm good at smash bros and the first time I picked one of those game cube controllers I fealt useless. I was Constantly pressing the wrong buttons. It's comfortable to hold and it was analog triggers which are good for throttle/brake control in racing games. But it's missing a left sholder button and doesn't have L3 and R3. Face buttons may be shape and position weird but for the games like the metroid prime games, they work well because B, Y, and X are easily accessible when you're busy spamming A.
